Listening to David's answer everyone was a little shocked especially Todoroki who stopped walking and turned back to look at David. But before he could say anything Deku's voice came
"I will practice harder and catch up to both of you."
"SHUT UP DEKU...I will defeat you all extras and become number 1" Bakugo shouted.
"Come on guys we are all in this together. Now stop this we will be called to the stadium any second now." Momo said
Hearing this even the robotic Iida started giving instructions.
"Let's show everyone that Class 1-A is united and we do not see the other classes under us"
'I will have to use my fire quirk in the festival and after I win the festival there is a high chance that All for one's sights will be on me. Now that I can nullify a quirk I can do that to All for one after some practice. After the festival, I will change my quirk registration from air and fire to all four elements. Except for my blood bending, I think I won't have a problem if the world knows about my other quirks.' David thought.
After a few minutes, David and his classmates could hear Midnight calling their class name so everyone started entering the ground with Momo and Iida leading the class and David, Todoroki, and Bakugo and the end of the class.
There were thousands of people present at the festival. The seniors of U.A High school, parents of the students, and even the top pro heroes of Japan. Everyone knew that Class 1-A had fought against villains and even won against them so they started cheering once Midnight announced their entries. James along with Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki was also sitting with the UA staff.
"So James, how do you think your brother will perform at the competition today?" Nejire asked.
"Depends on him. If he wants to win then he will win the whole thing." James said proudly.
He never felt any problem in telling his friends that his younger brother is stronger than him. James knew that even if the Big 4 fought against David they weren't sure of victory.
"Your brother seems pretty laid back. He is neither excited nor nervous" Mirio said.
"His class contains a lot of students with potential" Tamaki said in a low tone. He was nervous even though he didn't have anything to do. All his friends were already pretty used to his behavior.
"Endeavour's son Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya, and your brother. These four have the most offensive quirks. It's rare to see so much talent in a single class. If it was some other class I doubt they would be able to deal with Villains" Nighteye said.
'Something about James feels different from the day I've met him. Most students no matter how strong get nervous around pros but he didn't even hesitate to answer me boldly. Even that day in the office I couldn't guarantee that if I had fought against him I would have won. The other interesting one is Izuku Midoriya. I don't know what Toshinori saw in him and made him his successor but seeing his report until now I still feel that Mirio would have been a better option to wield One for all.' Nighteye was thinking when Midnight introduced the other classes as well.
Slowly all the other classes also entered the ground as well.
"All the classes are here so let's hear some words from the student who personally defeated the monster during the hero attack. KATSUKI BAKUGOOO!!!" Midnight shouted and everyone was excited as it was a feat even some pro heroes may not be able to accomplish.
'Tsk...I know for sure that it wasn't me that defeated the nomu but that fucking air blower David but I don't know how he did it and now I have to give a speech in front of these extras. I'll ask him after the festival...I don't want wins that I don't deserve.' Bakugo was annoyed but he still walked up towards the stage.
Midnight handed him the mic and all the spectators were ready to hear Bakugo's words of encouragement but the staff of UA and the students of CLASS 1-A were praying that Bakugo doesn't let his foul mouth say anything wrong and very soon their fears came to life.
"I AM GONNA DEFEAT YOU ALL AND BE NO 1" Bakugo said to which the whole crowd went into an uproar.
"What the hell? Do you think we are weak?" A student from Class 1-B shouted.
Similar outrage was heard from all the other participants. Even the spectators started cursing Bakugo.
"Isn't this kid too much confident?"
"He is so arrogant" the spectators started murmuring among themselves.
"This idiot" Aizawa facepalmed himself.
'Young Bakugo now that you have said it you have to back it up as well. Young Midoriya I hope you will overcome all the obstacles that you face this sports festival' All Might thought with a grim expression. He knew that his successor had many classmates who were leaps and bounds ahead of him but he could only hope that Deku could become the next symbol of peace.
In the stands, another person with fire coming out from different parts of his costume was lost in thought 'Shoto all these around you will become your stepping stones to success, so now just go and show them what my son can do'
"Now that all the participants are here let's get started with the first round." Midnight shouted while pointing to the screen.
On the screen, everyone could see a long race track with many obstacles like huge robots, different poles, a long pipe with a big hole under it, and also a big minefield.
"Now everyone get to the start line of the race track." Midnight shouted.
"START"
