Chapter 2: Stuck In A Lift
Alice and the boy both were worried as they were stucked in the lift . They sat down after few minutes.
Alice : May I know your name?
Boy : I am Henry .
Alice : Oh nice. I am Alice.
Henry gave a Smile
Alice : Can You make a call to someone for the help ?
Henry : I'm new in this city , and have no known persons
Alice : Oh ..
Henry : hmm, let's wait until it starts again
Alice : Where do you stay ?
Henry : Heaven Lane . Road no. 56
Alice (with a surprised tone) : Really?
Henry : Yesss..
Alice : Same pinch , I too stay there .
Henry : Oh great then we're neighbors (with a broad smile)
Alice : Haha yes .
After these few sentences they turned silent.
He Landed his head on Alice's shoulder and took her hand in his hand . Alice felt uncomfortable but didn't react. Alice broke the silence by asking
"Can you please switch on the torch of your phone , actually I'm a nyctophobic . "
Henry: Oh really ? lemme turn on the torch .
She felt a little comfort in the light of the torch.
Alice : What's the time now ?
Henry : 12:50 pm it's been half an hour .
Alice : Oh shit ! We're stuck here from half an hour . I had an appointment with the doctor at 12:45 . I think I missed it .
Henry : Don't worry , I think the lift is under repair . We'll get out soon.
Alice : hmm . Hoping for it.
Henry : hey, we forgot to press the alarm button.
Alice: Oh yeah ! shitt .
They both laughed at each other . Henry Got up and tried to press the alarm button but it wasn't working. He tried to use the call button but the same fault occurred with the call button too.
Henry : Shit ! they're not working.
Alice : Huh ! let's wait for some more time.
Henry Sat back and initiated the conversation again by asking ,
"Why did you came here ?"
Alice Whispered "I was not feeling good this morning, so my mother took me here ."
"oh God !! my mother " she shouted in a loud voice .
"she must be worried and searching for me " Alice said .
Suddenly the lift started moving upwards and they stood up .
lift stops at the 3rd floor and the door opens.
Alice's mother was standing in front of the door . Alice ran out of the lift and hugged her .
Alice : Momma , We were stuck in the lift .
Mom : I know kiddo , that's why I went to the maintenance department for asking the help .
Henry : Thanks Aunty.
Alice : Momma , Meet him .. He his Henry . The one who consoled me in the lift as I told him I am afraid of darkness .
Alice's mother thanked Henry For consoling her daughter .
Alice Went to the doctor and came back within half an hour . she saw Henry was sitting with her mother . Alice's mother told her that Henry will drop them to their house.
Alice gave a Smile to Henry and he directed them to the car .
