Chapter 2: Error!!
A large stadium around the size of a football stadium was packed with people. No empty seats can be seen in view and the noises of people conversing were echoing in the huge stadium.
"Next up..... Rey Shelding." from among the loud noises of the people, the voice of an old man was heard and everyone shifted their attention towards the large platform in the middle of the stadium.
The old man shifted his gaze from the list of participants in his hand towards the north of the platform where a lot of children were sitting. From there, a young boy of 15 got up and started to walk towards the platform. He was tall at 5ft 11in and with a fit and lean body- neither too much muscle nor too skinny-, he had white hair which reached his eyebrows and an aquiline nose with brown iris. For every step he took, tens of girls were being infatuated by his charms and gait, and even before he reached the platform he had got himself a considerable fan base.
"Greetings elders." Rey politely bowed eto the elder who called his name and to the others standing behind him. After getting the green light from the elders he moved towards the centre of the platform where a magic circle 2m in diameter was drawn.
Rey approached the circle and looked at the shapes and words drawn on it carefully. After he realised that those did not make any sense to him, he finally stepped inside the circle with an excited expression. Soon after, the inscriptions on the circle started glowing and a white light enveloped Rey's whole body. It looked as if a snow white pillar had been constructed with Rey in its middle.
Inside Rey heard a robotic voice, "Initiating body scan, please refrain from moving."
Rey barely managed to control his excitement and calmed down. The moment he had been waiting for since was right here and it all felt surreal.
"Checking compatibility."
"Error! No compatible system found."
"Checking database."
Rey's moment of ecstasy was short lived, the statement was like a rock breaking a fragile glass to pieces which shattered his dream. He couldn't believe that he will be living as an outcast and what about his dream of being the best, all were about to go down the drain when the voice spoke again
"Compatible system found."
"Initiating system bonding. Please try to persevere."
"Perse.... what?" Rey was surprised, no one told him that the process would hurt, his friend Ed who went before him even told him that it only tickles.
The next moment, symbols started being engraved on his body slowly and painfully.
OUTSIDE,
The elders who were overlooking the bonding ceremony were in a state of shock and in contrast to them, the audience was chatting nonchalantly. For them Rey was only taking extra time which not common was still possible is some cases. But the elders were shocked, only they apart from Rey could hear the robotic voice so that they can record his system model; but never did they expect for an error to occur.
INSIDE,
Rey was barely controlling his groans as the symbols have mostly been engraved. He cursed himself for not paying attention earlier and believing Ed's words as due to him he was carefree and vowed to teach that son of a b*tch a lesson for playing him.
"Bonding system A-1927 complete." The voice marked the end of Rey's suffering and slowly the white light receded. To his surprise, the engravings on his body also disappeared along with any traces.
*Plop*
Rey sat down as he had to endure that hell for 15 long minutes which proved to be too much. The elders rushed towards him and helped him to his feet. Meanwhile, the head elder whispered in his ears to meet him after the ceremony was over and to not use his system for the time being.
Rey was surprised at the weird request but decided to heed the elder's words. As he stepped down from the platform, he turned back to see the elders discussing something among themselves.
Rey was drenched in sweat, as a result of which his white shirt stuck to his muscly body showing an outline of his cuts and abs.
He moved his left hand through his hair to shake off the sweat and to fix it, giving the already infatuated girls more reason to like him.
Rey went back to his designated area and gave a thumbs up to Ed with a smile. He decided to play it cool for now so that Ed will not be alerted, afterall his revenge was still due.
After Rey 50 more children were called and soon the ceremony ended with the Mayor's congratulatory speech.
