Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Poor Dudley (Edited)

Ivan calmed down and followed his parents into the house.

The first thing he saw was Vernon Dursley in formal attire, and Dudley, who was as fat as a piglet.

Mr. and Mrs. Mason said, "Good evening!"

Dudley walked over and greeted, "Good evening, Mr. Mason and Mrs. Mason."

Then Dudley with a fake smile on his face said, "May I take your coats?"

Thanked Mrs. Mason, "Thank you, boy!"

Then she pushed Ivan, who was hiding behind her, and introduced him to Dudley, "This is our little Ivan, he will be entering Smeltings High School this year too, you will have to look after him later when school starts."

Dudley said, "It's a pleasure, ma'am."

Seeing that Dudley wanted to hug him, Ivan quickly took half a step away from him following his parents into the living room as he spoke politely and while silently looking around.

Obviously, the living room had been carefully arranged for today's meeting.

The kitchen, not far away, a strong smell of pudding wafted from the top of the fridge, the table was laden with cream cakes and there was the smell of a large piece of meat in the kitchen oven.

But these were not the ones Ivan was looking for, and as described in the Harry Potter novels, there was nothing Harry Potter related in the house, and clearly the Dursleys didn't want anyone else to know about their unusual nephew.

Ivan frowned slightly, the unfortunate boy, at this point, should be in the small room upstairs, making no noise so that no one would notice his existence.

Thinking about it, he felt the need to do something about it.

Ivan interrupted the boring joke about a Japanese golfer and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Dursley."

Then Ivan continued, "You know, I don't usually visit other people's houses, I'm curious about everything here, and if you don't mind, I'd like Dudley to show me around before dinner."

Vernon said, "No problem, let Dudley show you his room and see his new console."

Considering that Ivan was too small to understand his jokes, Vernon quickly agreed and said, "You can go play, boys. I'll send Petunia to call you when it's dinner time."

Dudley was a little reluctant to escort Ivan out of the living room as planned, he should stay and continue to congratulate the Mason family instead of wandering around the house with a small child.

Especially since he had to hold back and make a good impression on the Mason family, and this was an incredibly difficult task for Dudley.

The two of them went up to the second floor, and as Ivan listened to Dudley introduce his new console, he looked curiously at a small room down the hall where the door was closed.

"What's in that room?"

Dudley's face became unnatural and he said, "Nothing, it's my cousin's room, but he's not home at the moment."

Dudley quickly said, "We still have to go to my room..."

Before he had time to finish his words, they were interrupted by a loud noise coming from the small room. The next moment, before he had time to stop it, Dudley saw Ivan standing next to him step forward and open the door to the room.

Ivan opened the door and, in the half-light, saw a boy standing in front of a closet.

The boy was thin, with a pair of bright green eyes, dark hair, and a thin lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead.

Harry Potter was surprised to see the door open, he had just hidden Dobby, a house elf, and the door to the room opened unexpectedly, but who opened it was not his Uncle Vernon, but a boy he had never seen before.

Ivan was filled with joy at meeting Harry Potter, so he quickly extended his right hand and said, "Good evening, you must be Dudley's cousin, I'm Ivan Mason, nice to meet you!"

Harry hesitated for a moment and finally extended his hand to shake Ivan's hand and said, "Hello, my name is Harry Potter, and it's also a pleasure to meet you!"

If he wasn't mistaken, the boy standing in front of him was the son of the wealthy businessman who had come to his Uncle Vernon's house to make a massive purchase of materials, so his Uncle Vernon had arranged for him to stay in the room and pretend he wasn't there, so Harry didn't know if he should strike up a conversation with the boy in front of him or not.

Harry had been listening to his Uncle Vernon talk for two weeks about the importance of today's dinner, and if this went wrong, he couldn't imagine how hard it would be for him to get through the rest of his life.

Outside the room, Dudley was urging Ivan to leave the room and as bad as he felt about that, Harry had to admit that it was the only thing he agreed with Dudley about during their summer vacation, especially since in the cupboard next to him was a house elf that was not fit to be seen by Muggles.

Ivan didn't seem to hear Dudley because his attention was completely focused on the cage next to the window that contained a snow-white owl.

Ivan said excitedly, "It's a pure white owl!"

Then Ivan turned to Harry and asked, "What's his name?"

Harry quietly closed the opening cupboard door and said, "Hedwig, she's my pet!"

Ivan said as he looked at Hedwig, "I wanted a pet like that too, but my mother is allergic to birds,"

Ivan then asked, "Can I feed her?"

Harry sighed and said, "No problem, but I don't have any food."

Since his Uncle Vernon had stopped him from releasing Hedwig to feed, Harry had been feeding her some of his food since the summer began.

Ivan quickly said, "What does she eat? There's plenty of food in the..."

Before Ivan could finish his sentence, he was abruptly interrupted by Dudley, "Ivan, my mother is calling us to eat!"

Dudley finally mustered up the courage to enter Harry's room and lead Ivan into the kitchen.

"Well, I guess I can finish dinner and come back."

Ivan followed Dudley, but after two steps he saw that Harry wasn't moving, so he asked, "Harry, aren't you coming with us?"

Harry stammered and said, "Me, I'll pass, I've already had dinner!"

There was a growl in Harry's stomach, but he was sure his Aunt Petunia wouldn't like to see him at the table.

Ivan released his grip on Dudley and walked over to Harry, saying, "Come on, even if you've already eaten, you can still have some dessert!"

Then Ivan grabbed Harry's arm and said, "We can even get something to feed Hedwig, I think she's hungry!"

Dudley quickly stopped Ivan. and said, "We can't do that, he can't eat with us."

Ivan stopped and asked, "Why, isn't he your cousin?"

Dudley struggled to find the words, explaining to Ivan, "That's right, but.... He's not like us. He's a monster."

Ivan frowned and repeated, "Monster?!"

Then Ivan looked at Harry next to him, who was also very excited, forgetting to keep closing the closet door that kept opening.

The next second, a small monster came out of the closet, with two large bat ears and a pair of bulging eyes the size of tennis balls.

Dobby, the house elf, Ivan immediately guessed who it was, but he didn't think a house elf would be so ugly.

Dobby jumped out from inside the closet and shouted, "How dare you, in Dobby's presence, insult the great Harry Potter!"

Before either of them could react, he extended his right index finger and pointed it at Dudley, who was stunned.

Suddenly, a light green flash lit up the room, there was the sound of a firecracker, a scream, and then Dudley was jumping up and down and grimacing with his hands on his fat bottom. When Dudley turned around, Ivan saw a rolled up pig's tail sticking out of the hole in his pants

Poor Dudley, after Hagrid put a pig tail on him last year, this year he got a new one.
