Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Humbly Accepting Cowardice (Edited)

Ivan slept very restlessly that night as he dreamed of various things.

He dreamt that he was there in Godric 's Hollow the night Voldemort killed Harry's father, he wanted to help them, but he couldn't do anything.

Then he dreamed of Ginny, the girl fell helplessly in front of him, her body was cold as a corpse, Tom Riddle was beside him, Tom's face had a sneer and a smug look on it, mocking his helplessness in the face of true strength.

Ivan quickly pulled out his wand but in the next moment Ivan was sent flying by Tom, and in the next second a green spell was fired at Ivan, then suddenly he woke up from his sleep and sat up.

When Ivan woke up, he was drenched in sweat.

It was barely dawn outside, so he lay down again, he realized that he was too weak to oppose Voldemort.

But luckily he had time, and fortunately, they had Dumbledore, the only wizard Voldemort fears.

Ivan knew he needed to improve his strength step by step, he couldn't learn advanced magic right now. But for now, he needed to figure out how to defeat the Basilisk and how to deal with the diary.

Ivan thought, "I know the Basilisk is afraid of crowing roosters."

As he was thinking about how to defeat the Basilisk, he heard something coming from the corner of the room.

Ivan cast a spell, "Lumos."

He then began scanning his surroundings, looking for the source of the sound.

It was a brownish-green creature with a dirty pillowcase on top, a house elf, and it was tidying the room. The bright light from Ivan's wand startled her greatly and, wide-eyed and pitiful, she gaped for three seconds before letting out a suppressed scream and disappearing into thin air.

Next to her bed was Colin's, but throughout the ordeal he slept like a log.

Ivan couldn't sleep, so he decided to think about Voldemort, perhaps in Voldemort's eyes, he was as lowly as a house elf.

That feeling was horrible, so Ivan put on his robe and got out of bed quietly.

That morning at Hogwarts was very quiet, the portraits were sleeping and not a shadow was visible. Ivan walked through the empty castle, wondering why he suddenly wanted to see the sunrise.

Ivan climbed the stairs to the top of the castle, where he had never been before.

When he climbed to the top floor, he saw that one of the entrances to the common room of a house had elegant arched windows, surrounded by blue and tan silk and a bronze eagle-shaped doorknob on the door.

That was the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, and Ivan did not approach it as he walked to the balcony overhanging the window to his left, from which he had a beautiful view of the castle beyond.

The next instant, Ivan realized that someone had arrived before him.

As a light breeze blew, the sun slowly rose from the edge of the Forbidden Forest. With the sun shining, Ivan saw a beautiful golden-haired girl sitting on the edge of the balcony.

The girl had ethereal qualities that made one think of a fairy.

Luna, as if she knew Ivan would appear here. said quietly, "Good morning, Ivan!"

Ivan sighed in relief and said, "Good morning, Luna!"

Then Ivan came to her side, sat down and said, "What are you doing here?"

Luna said, "I'm writing an article on how to find a Snorkack with crumpled horns, and I'm going to contribute to your paper."

Ivan didn't know how to respond, he should be happy, but when he thought about the content `How to find a Snorkack with crumpled horns', it made him feel happy and a little unhappy at the same time.

Luna put down the parchment in her hands, looked at Ivan and said, "In the morning it's often easier to get inspired, do you too look for inspiration?"

Ivan hesitated for a moment and said, "Well, yes."

After reflecting for a moment, Ivan said, "I'm sorry how cruel reality is, the power of man is too small, even if one knows everything, one cannot change anything."

Ivan spoke so vaguely that he was not sure that Luna could understand him.

Two people watched the sunrise for a while, Luna said in a peculiar trance-like voice, "Power is never absolute, people who can face their own cowardice and remain humble, it's a kind of courage, isn't it?"

Ivan nodded and said, "Yes, courage is important."

Luna then said, "But I believe more in wisdom than in strength or courage."

Luna then said in a sing-song tone, "Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure."

This is the second time Ivan heard Luna say this phrase, he went back yesterday and checked the origin, this was one of Rowena Ravenclaw's last words.

Maybe it is a famous saying, but Ivan didn't know how this phrase can help to defeat Voldemort.

Luna looked out into the sunrise and said, "My mother once told me before she died, it is important that you choose your own direction, and then no matter how many people oppose you, you must stick to it and pursue your beliefs."

On the balcony, Luna's voice left Ivan in a trance-like state.

Ivan repeated, "Address?!"

Then, Ivan unconsciously asked, "Your mother?"

Luna nodded and said, "Yes, she was an excellent witch and liked to do experiments, but one day in one of her spells it backfired and she died, I was nine years old."

Ivan said in an apologetic tone, "I'm sorry, Luna!"

Luna said, "It's okay, Ivan, I'm okay because she loved me while she was still alive, even though sometimes I feel depressed, at least I still have my father. What I mean is that no matter how hard it is, you will always have someone to help you through it."

Ivan nodded his head as he realized this, "You're right, I will always have someone to help me."

Ivan has had a deep sense of anxiety ever since he knew he had crossed over into Harry Potter's magical world, always putting himself on the opposite side of Voldemort while ignoring the existence of others.

When she listened to Luna, she remembered Harry, Ron, Hermione and everyone else, who in the novel helped Harry defeat Voldemort, even if it came at a very high price, but they won in the end.

Now that he is here, he must save the lives of those who were lost.

Luna said, "Believe in your friends, they may not do anything great, but it will change many ordinary but essential things."

Then luna said with her unfocused look, "I think one of Helga Hufflepuff's quotes is the best, 'I will teach everyone and treat them all the same,' she seems to be the best of the founders."

Ivan, who was feeling much better, said, "Thank you Luna!"

Luna said to Ivan, "You can come with me to the Ravenclaw common room and we can read The Quaffle, which is a magazine my father writes, it might give you some inspiration."

Ivan shook his head and said, "No thanks, I'm a bit hungry, I want to go downstairs for pudding."

Although he was interested in the Ravenclaw common room, he didn't want to read The Quaffle.
