Chapter 89: No Mana Cap

Zen felt something burning that was coming from deep within his soul.

He clutched his head and screamed unceasingly.

Arthur, who was standing a few meters away, was dumbfounded by the sight.

He forgot that Zen was still a mortal. Even with all his secrets, he was still a mortal.

And to use God's power as a mortal, he would need to pay a price.

Fire shot out of Zen's eyes and mouth, thoroughly burning his insides.

Crackle!

From inside his body, fire spread out and covered Zen.

Arthur watched as Zen's skin, blood, and flesh burned. However, he also noticed Zen's powerful regeneration ability that fought the destructive power of the divine fire.

It lasted until all that was left of Zen was his skeleton.

In Arthur's mind, the Fire God's [Blaze Attribute] was majestic. It burned brightly, outshining even the sun in the sky.

However, when he looked at Zen. He didn't see any trace of majesty. Instead, it was like the fire from the deepest trenches of hell.

Even someone as powerful as him, felt a fear that crept in his very soul.

"This… this is the [Blaze Attribute] of the Fire God." Arthur's face had a trace of worship as he muttered to himself.

He roughly remembered a memory from the past.

"Hahahaha!!!"

A screeching noise that seemed to be laughing sounded in the area.

Arthur heard this and snapped out of his daze. He adjusted his emotions and observed Zen's situation quietly.

'Father, I promise that our church will rise once again…' Arthur whispered in his heart as his eyes looked at Zen with hope.

However, at this time, Zen was laughing all by himself maniacally, instantly making Arthur have second thoughts.

Zen, who looked like a burning skeleton, opened and closed his fists repeatedly, feeling the power that was coursing through him.

'I've done it…' He thought happily. He was still feeling the pain of being burned.

However, perhaps due to being used to it, the pain didn't make him scream anymore. It was less intense and more bearable for him.

Then, he looked towards his teacher.

He saw that Arthur was still as cool as always.

After a minute or two, he heard Arthur's voice, "You may disable the skill now, thank you."

Zen turned the skill off. In the next second, his blood, flesh, skin, organs and other parts of his body regenerated almost instantly.

This event caused Arthur's eyebrows to shoot up in surprise. 'So this is what happened inside the dome of fire, huh…'

Zen, who had just finished regenerating, crossed his arms and said, "Why is it a little cold…"

Then, he looked down and saw his naked body.

Eek!

He hurriedly tried his best to cover his body before looking at Arthur to ask for clothes.

Arthur had a disdainful expression as he said, "What are you getting all shy for? It's not as if I haven't seen every inch of your body." However, he still got a pair of clothes in his storage ring before tossing them towards Zen.

"Oh please, you talk like my mom! Let me protect my dignity!" Zen rolled his eyes.

After wearing the clothes tossed by Arthur, Zen walked up to him and said, "What's next?"

Arthur smiled and said, "Give me a summary of your gains. I don't need too much details, just a description of the effects would be enough. I'll need this in order to know how to train you."

Zen nodded and excitedly described the various gains that he obtained.

Arthur listened carefully, feeling surprised from time to time.

Their discussion lasted for about an hour before Zen finished speaking.

He was now silently waiting for Arthur to speak.

Arthur, who was thinking silently, raised his head and asked, "How much Divine Energy and Evil Energy do you have?"

Zen checked his status panel and replied, "I have about 100 max divine energy and 10,000 max evil energy."

Arthur nodded and said, "Since you activated the [Blaze Attribute] earlier, how much divine energy did you expend?"

"I've activated it for about 5 minutes earlier and it costed about 10 points of divine energy." Zen answered.

"So about 2 divine energy points per minute, huh… How about now? How much divine energy do you have left?" Arthur asked again.

Zen replied, "It just got filled again now. So my divine energy regeneration speed is about 10 points per hour."

Arthur nodded. "You should use your divine energy sparringly and only use it as a last resort, okay?"

Zen nodded in understanding.

Following this, Arthur gave him more advice at how to manage his energy.

Zen also learned how to turn divine and evil energy into mana from Arthur.

As threads of bright orange divine energy and dark purple-colored evil energy split into countless blue strands, Zen also observed how fast he could regenerate his evil energy.

"What!? Your evil energy regeneration is 10 points per second?!" Arthur said in surprise when he heard Zen.

After a while, he calmed down. "Since you basically transplanted the Lord of Evil's Heart in your body, then this only makes sense. Anyway, how much mana do you gain from a point of divine and evil energy?"

[...

Mana: 2000

Divine Energy: 99/100

Evil Energy: 9,999/10,000

…]

Zen calculated and said, "I can gain about 1,000 mana points from a single point of divine and evil energy."

"Good. How about your limit?"

Zen double checked his status panel and said, "I don't seem to have a limit for mana…"

Arthur thought for a moment before saying, "This is reasonable, given the fact that your body could accommodate two opposing divine energies… This means that you can just keep storing up mana and you wouldn't have to worry about having a mana cap. However, this would also mean that for you to store up mana, you would need to manually convert your evil energy to mana since your body still rejects mana, causing it to be unable to regenerate by itself."

Zen nodded in understanding.
