Chapter 28: CHAPTER 28
SIYA RAINS-
I was standing just outside the court as the session was going to start in a few minutes. I turned around when I heard my name to see Victoria and Elizabeth, "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" I asked as I hugged both of them.
"Oh it's such a big case for Landon, he will finally send that creep to prison so we had to come." Victoria told me as she shuddered in disgust. She had met and interacted with Paul due to Katrine who was a common ex Aaron and Paul had. Landon told me what had happened and I realized Paul was obsessed with his family.
"It's nice that Landon finally has someone, before that Victoria and I made a point to check on him once in a while, also, it's fun to irritate Landon." Elizabeth says making us laugh as I nod my head in agreement. When a patient man like Landon gets irritated, it is really a treat to watch.
We all stop laughing when the cops bring a handcuffed Paul in. After his arrest when he showed up at Analia's place, Landon made sure he didn't get out on bail, "Oh look who is here, I heard Siya's sister shattered your already non-existent penis?" Victoria asked making him glare at her but he didn't say a word. Wyatt, his lawyer actioned him not to say anything.
"Don't worry Paul, it's not going to make a difference, because Analia told me that the first time she saw your penis she mistook it for a belly button." Elizabeth said making the officer who was standing beside Paul laugh as well. I looked at Victoria and they had a paper in their hand. I am guessing they had prepared some material.
"Yeah also Analia told me she had smoked fatter cigarettes comparatively." Victoria added making me laugh as well because I knew they hadn't met Analia yet.
"Shut up! It's not that small." Paul sneers helplessly. It was funny to see a man like Paul who was so used to getting everything, handcuffed and incapable of saying anything substantial.
"Wow, what a sad brag, almost a self-burn." Elizabeth says as she laughs. She was really having fun with her insults.
"Okay enough, the hearing is going to commence, let's go inside." Landon approaches us but doesn't spare Paul a look like he always does.
"Hey wait, how about we come to a settlement?" He pleads to Landon but everybody ignores him as we enter the court.
Everything was pin drop silent, even the few people who thought Paul was innocent now have no arguments left after he attacked Analia. Landon had called Paul in the witness box who had a very sullen face.
"So Mr. Scotts you stated you didn't know James Miller existed till he alleged got an opportunity and wrongfully sued you?" Landon asked with his deep intimidating voice and huge stature. If I was in the witness box and I didn't know Landon, I frankly would be frightened.
"No, I knew that some intern existed, by the way he didn't even work under me as I have stated a million times, I just didn't know his name or anything about him." Paul sneered, on the first session of the case Paul was the sweet guy who is upset that he is being wrongly accused, his personality has taken a 360* turn from there.
"Great, so immediately after the case was filed you got to know his name and other necessary information about him?" he asked without any expressions on his face.
"Yes, how many times do I need to answer the same question?" Paul fumed but calmed down after his lawyer actioned him to.
"Great, your honour, let the record show Mr. Scotts didn't know anything about this case or even Mr. Miller name until after the case was filed." Landon said before going back to his desk and removing the exact same file that Mary had handed him.
"During the interrogation the police obtained some evidence which showed all the call recordings were erased and voicemails were erased a day after Mr. Miller was beaten up which was ten days before an official report was filed, except for one." As soon as Landon says that, Paul's eyes widen and Wyatt starts going through his paperwork.
"This was a day after Mr. Miller was physically assaulted." Landon says as a clerk comes in to play the voice mail.
"Hey Wyatt, I got drunk last night and something happened." We heard Paul slur in the recording, "Now I think that guy, Jimmy Miller is going to file a case against me. Don't worry, he is poor, nothing can go wrong and I am sure you'll crush the small time lawyer he hires. Maybe you can send one of your assistant's to work this case. Bye." The call disconnects with Paul laughing a bit.
"Confidentiality between lawyer and client, this recording can't be used." Wyatt stands up with a little happiness evident in his voice.
"Well your client was drunk and he called his secretary by mistake." Landon almost laughed smugly before handing in some paper to the clerk who handed it to the judge, "Now I would like to call Ms. Harding to the witness box please."
I see a young beautiful brunette walk up to the witness box, she seemed a little scared, "Keep in mind, your boss is already being investigated for committing perjury twice, and so you may not want that because it would lead up to two years in prison." Landon softly warns her and she nods.
"What order did Mr. Scott give you the night after the assault?" Landon asked making her shiver a little.
"He asked me to delete his entire call history with his lawyer and any messages or security footage with James Miller or his name in it." She answered quietly not looking up at Paul as she was clearly scared of what would happen if he doesn't go to prison.
"Thank you Ms. Harding that was all I wanted. I have provided with two proofs that Mr. Scott actually did know Mr. Miller. 'Something' did happen that night when he got drunk like he always does. I don't think I need to talk about the perjury that was committed or how Siy-Ms. Rains' sister was assaulted for merely speaking the truth. This also shows Mr. Scotts anger management issues." Landon says calmly before going back to his bench and retrieving some other documents.
"I also need to bring this to the courts attention, Paul Scott has a child, Ryan Scott, with his ex-wife, Katrine, who is in prison. I would like to bring this to the courts attention that it is an unfit environment to raise a child. Paul Scott is not capable of being a good parent to Ryan Scott. That's all I have, I rest my case now. Your honour." Landon points out before sitting down in his place, satisfied with how the case is going.
The next half an hour was just back and forth between Wyatt bringing up almost irrelevant points to Landon slamming them shut. The judge didn't seem convinced at all by Wyatt. Finally, he asked Wyatt to take a seat as he was going to give the final verdict.
"This has been a long case with a lot of lies and perjuries committed and I think I have reached a clear decision. Mr. Paul Scotts is found guilty under these following charges: Aggravated assault of Mr. James Miller, Attempted Assault and Verbal abuse of Ms. Analia Rains and lastly for Perjury (2 counts). The victim can claim compensation for the mental and physical trauma. The court is going to suspend Mr. Wyatt's license until further investigation. The court is adjourned." I smile as Jimmy hugs Landon with tears in his eyes and thanks him repetitively. Paul slams his hand on the bench hard before the officer escorts him out.
I quickly get up to hug Elizabeth and Victoria who were incredibly happy. As we all walk out of the court, I feel hands around my waist, I turn around smiling, knowing that it was Landon, "You did it!" I jump in his arms and hug him.
He catches me as he chuckles at my reaction, I could see relief evident on his face. He was finally happy, as much as people hate to admit it, you can't forget such things. You need revenge, obviously it was not possible for Landon to get it for all the things he has been through but he can save others, like Paul's son. He didn't have to but he still did.
These are one of the few reasons I love him so much.

As we arrive home after the long day, I looked over to Landon, "So what do you want to do now?"
"I want to sleep, I am very sleepy." He says as he pulls me towards him. I giggle when he hugs me and rests his head in my neck, "I want to sleep in your arms."
"You want to cuddle like a baby? I can call you my cuddle bunny."
"Shut up."
"Ooh by the way, it was cute how you fumbled with my name, I thought Landon Chambers never makes mistakes." I teased him knowing how he was a perfectionist and how much he hated messing up his 'monologues'.
"It's funny, you know, you were such a nervous little kitten around me when I first met you and now you are teasing me? Not even considering the fact that we are all alone or the things I am capable of doing to you. I treat you like a princess all the time and this is how you repay me?" I gulp, excited as I try to get out of his hold, but he doesn't let go, he pulls me closer. I feel my face heating up as his one hand tucks my strand behind my ear while looking me deep into his eyes, "What happened? Not so mouthy, are we now?"
No Siya back off, don't say it!
"Umm I- I am not scared of you, you are a cutie." As soon as those words fall out of my mouth, I regret them. He doesn't get angry, he has a smile on his devilishly handsome face.
Oh shit!
"Face the wall, raise your skirt because I am going to spank you then fuck you against that wall." He commands in that insanely sexy dominant voice that makes you follow his command without a question.
But I don't listen to him, I try to break free but he turns me around and pulls my back to his chest making me gasp at the suddenness, "Oh I am so fucking cute right? Let's see how cute I can be." He ask which causes jolts to run right to my core as I squeeze my legs to control the pressure building up.
I am so fucked.
