Chapter 2: Curiosity
Somewhere close to new haven, a small poor village settles by. Here we meet a young boy at the age of 12. He went by Bronze Locke, and his close friend Elfa who was a young female hunter. Bronze best friend was Dashal, they both were very smart children and were interested into science and the study of magic. They were a group of normal people, but growing up poor, they didn't know a lot. Bronze dream was to go to a university in New haven where they have the best books. In his area, everything was limited. And a village would only have 1 school, and 1 sheriff. The sheriff wears a dark navy blue trench coat, and carries a semi-rifle and a revolver (to be clear, a rifle that looks like henry repeating rifle).
One night, Bronze dreams about seeing a magical person. He couldn't tell who it was, it looked light a bright light figure. He would later look at his hand, then sparks would lit up and fire then would appear. Bronze had then woke up. "What was that?" He said in confusion. It was still the middle of night, and he couldn't fall asleep. Bronze decided to go read some books. Mostly about biology and technology, he read them until he got tired. But later another book would fall on the ground. Bronze is startled, and stares at the falling book. He goes up to it and grabs it in confusion. The title of the books reads, "The magical land of Demigernt". "Demigernt?" Whats that? He reads more and it says, "magical people". Bronze questions the book, "is this actually true?" After discovering the book that had fell, Bronze spent the whole night till morning reading the history of Demigernt. . Later that morning, Bronze had gone to Dashals house and met with Elfa.
"Guys, guys! So I found out about this book, and it talks about magic!" Bronze said in excitement.
"That's a funny joke, magic aren't real" Dashal replied.
"Hahahaha, you actually believe in magic? I thought you were a science person" said Elfa.
"I'm being serious, I spent the whole night reading about the history of magic or to be specific, Demigernt." "And there are proof, illuminating bright light objects are all native to Demigernt." Bronze said with confidence.
"Alright but, if that's true then why are there uhhh.. glowing rocks here in this location" said Dashal.
"I'm not sure yet, I just need more research and books.." Bronze replied.
"Look man, I just find the concept of magic illogical. You can't cheat nature you know" Dashal replies
"Maybe hes having those weird dreams again" says elfa.
"No, it wasn't one of those dream. But in time, I'll prove you guys wrong." Said Bronze.
After that morning, they went to school. The school they went to had 5 classes. History, Science, Math, Language, and Survival guide course. The only thing Bronze was good at was Science. Math wasn't his thing, history bored him, and language he did fine. But his real struggle was Survival guide course. Not because he didn't how to survive, but he feared monsters in general. Such as wolves, bears, and snakes. One time during a field trip, he almost got killed because he thought a stick was a snake. So he got scared and ran like crazy and almost hit his head on a rock.
After school had ended, Dashal, Elfa, and Bronze would hangout. They would walked through the village and into the small forest. Well traveling to the forest, they had meant another kid. He was 2 year old than them. He had 2 hatchet like a mini axe, 1 on his hand and the other on his waist. He looked pretty tough and scratched up a little. He had white hair and 1 red eye.
"Who're are you?" Said Elfa.
"Huh? Oh, my name is Keith"
"We've never seen you before, do you live near?" Bronze asked
"I think so, I live in a cabin somewhere near the forest and I've never seen you kids before" said Keith.
"Kids? We look about the same age." Dashal replied in a upset manner.
"Well, whatever. And where are you guys headed to? You know the forest can be pretty dangerous." Said Keith.
"Dangerous?! I can take them on with my almighty sharp god of sword!" Elfa said in excitement.
Bronze tells Elfa to calm down.
"Don't mind her heh..hehh..we're just here to hangout" Said bronze.
"Well..if thats the case. Can I come to?" Keith asked.
Dashal didn't really trust keith, he thought he seemed shady. A random kid they just met who has a weapon on him.
"Sure I guess" said Bronze.
After discovering a new foe, the group had venture inside the forest. They mostly talked about each other, Elfa would mess around and try to hunt small animals like squirrels or rabbits. She would also try looking for deer's. Out of the group she was the most confident one in her abilities and feared nothing. Dashal though is smart, is also cautious within everything, that includes meeting people, even a child. He had trust issue even if he met the nicest person. Bronze on the other hand tends to be more less judgmental and more caring. But he is too naive and reckless with his environment, sometimes at least.
