Chapter 13: Chapter 13
I sat down beside Kaze as he stared down at a plane between the forest. He asked me "Hakuto, do you know why I am here?"
I shook my head, indicating that I didn't know. He said "This is the place where my village used to be. The whole village was burnt and destroyed to such a state that no one would believe that there were people living here."
"Was it the enemy ninja that did this?" I asked. He smiled and said "That depends on which ninja you consider as enemies."
I hated people who played with words, even though I also sometimes do the same. Looking at my pissed and confused face, he chuckled and said "You sure are interesting Hakuto. The village we lived in wasn't on the ninja map, that's why no one even found out about it. Even if the village was in the map, everyone were busy with the war and it's aftermath.
Everyone in my village were from a clan called the Atano clan. We were once active ninja specializing in information gathering. But, after the second shinobi war, only a handful of us were alive.
Seeing our fellow clansmen's body and the destruction of the war, the remaining members decided to live far from ninjas and their conflicts.
We had a nice and peaceful life until everyone was slaughtered and I was spared. Hakuto, did you seriously believe that enemy ninjas came to kill a whole village and only spared a single kid?"
I had this thought in my head for a while and wondered about it, but decided to forget about it as it was in the past and I had nothing to do with it.
I replied "I also felt it was weird that I survived. Why are you asking about this?"
"It is because the root ninja were involved in this incident." Kaze replied and I wasn't surprised. They had a great track record of doing extremely stupid things.
Seeing that I wasn't surprised, he continued "They were the ones who dressed as shinobi of other land and killed everyone in my village."
Now, this wasn't something I could believe. Danzo is famous for being a coward. He wouldn't slaughter a village just for a kid.
Kaze continued "One root ninja, not long ago, ran from the organization and settled down with a woman. He was tired of the killing and met a woman in a mission.
He started a life with her, but Danzo didn't like him roaming around after knowing about root. So, he planned to kill him, but you changed everything."
That's when I understood what was happening here. The ninja I was asked to assassinate for my first mission was a medical ninja named Hiro. He was the father of the duo owning the takoyaki shop he worked in.
Kaze smiled at my face which had realization and said "You really planned greatly and managed to fool even the medical ninja of the root. The idea of using plastic surgery on a dead body was a great idea."
"I was about to kill him, when we both heard someone call out for him. But when I saw that it was his daughter Akari, who called out for him, I talked it out with him. Since he just wanted to live a life with his family, I couldn't kill him.
Since he was a medical ninja, we came up with the plan of using a dead body and changing his face with plastic surgery.
Hiro was a great medical ninja, he did a great job in changing the face." I explained what happened.
"It all started with that, Danzo lost complete trust in root and needed a trustworthy subordinate who could lead or inform him about the things happening in root.
He planned to train kids from an even younger age. He couldn't pick war orphans as they usually mature in the war and are difficult to control." Kaze explained and I listened, with a single question in my mind "How do you know all this?"
As if he was able to read my mind, he said "Our clan was known to have one of the best mind techniques. The best well known technique is the ability to read memories and thoughts when close enough to our target."
"That explains everything " was what I said, but then I immediately thought "Was he also reading my mind all this time?" and he read that too.
He chuckled and nodded. I was horrified to know that he was reading my head like a open book for a year and a half.
He said "You know, when I found out that Danzo was the one who killed my whole clan, I wanted to kill him. I knew I couldn't kill a person who had a lot of experience and was backed by a hokage and more than 100 top ninjas.
Just when I was planning my revenge plan, I met you. The kid that was supposed to have his memories wiped out and was going to be trained as the most loyal killing machine of Root.
I was planning on killing you when I had a chance, but you shocked me. A kid who was smart, calculative and knew what he was doing. That's when I thought deeply about my revenge plan and the things that would follow them.
Hakuto, I know this is stupid of me asking my little brother to do something for me, but do you mind doing something?" he asked at the end.
I couldn't help but agree. He said "I don't want you running behind Danzo for revenge, nor do I want you to spoil your life thinking about revenge, but if there comes a time where killing Danzo wouldn't harm you or anyone around you, swing your sword for me."
"I am not used to emotional talks like this. Stop talking like those people dying in movies. They always act all dramatic before dying." I said with wet eyes.
I can't help but become emotional. I was a just an orphan even in my previous life who didn't even get into a serious relationship. Some might even think that I got too attached to a stranger, but when you have only one person to talk to, it just happens.
Kaze stood up and I did as well. He looked at the setting sun and said "What a beautiful sight to see."
I could tell what he was planning to do and wanted to stop him. Kaze said "Don't Hakuto, this is what I want. War and fights really aren't something I like. This way, I can also leave in peace. As for our clan, I don't think it will become extinct, what do you say Atano Hakuto?"
He handed me his memo and said "This is the parting gift from your brother." and I immediately felt a sharp pain in my head.
I heard Kaze say "Danzo is going to have a hard time containing the youngest dictator of the world." before everything went silent.
I closed my eyes and was in pain. After I opened my eyes, recovering from the pain, he was gone and I had a huge amount of information flowing into my head.
The last sentence confirmed my suspicion as to whether he knew about anime or not, but the last sentence confirmed it.
(I am actually not that good with this emotional stuff. Next, Hakuto will go to Kumogakure. The reason I am saying this now is because, you will get to know about this in the next chapter. The reason for telling this is because I needed a favor from my readers. I wanted him to stay in Kumogakure, but there is little to no information about the Kumogakure at this time.
Now, I wouldn't decide to send him tk Kumogakure if I didn't have anything planned. I just wanted some more info to make it even more better and to make sure I wouldn't miss any important details.)
