Chapter 6: Reconstruction of Walls
Oli spends all night thinking about the offer Elder Alfred made.
At first, Oli thought it was a bit troublesome but, when he thought about the odds and how he will come to power, gradually, his mind changed. When he comes to power, he could get much gold as Oli wants also, there are millions and thousands of years of knowledge stock on earth that Oli can get, in a form of a book although he would consume a lot of time reading, it was worth it and, lastly, Oli feels it is a bit exciting and a bit different in all of his job. Imagine leading and managing the people like a politician, although Oli didn't like anything about politics.
On the other, there are so many problems that he needed to solve and, so much work to do if he become a chairman of the Leefside village.
Oli pondered a bit more before coming to a decision. He'll take the offer but, this is until Elder Alfred find a most suitable in this kind of position. When Oli realized it, it's about 6:00 AM on both Earth and, the Continent of Chronos although, the two worlds are similar and different at the same time, the day and hour are the same and, there is no clock on the Continent and, the people are using some type of hourglass that Oli didn't understand how it works but, luckily, Oli's wristwatch is working.
Oli got up to his bed and opened the portal to go back to Earth and buy some materials needed and food at the same time. Oli changed his cloths into a gray hoodie jacket and black Jagger pants.
"Sigh although, it is still early in the morning, it's so hot. Both kinds of weather are different and, I have become accustomed to the temperature in Chronos since I stay there most of my time and, too, maintain that temperature, I, will tell the people of Leefside not to cut down too, many trees to prevent global warming." Oli said when he got out of his small room and feel the hotness in the air. After a while, he started to walk to near by convenience store.
In those past three weeks, Oli also got to know the family of Zion. He first got to know Zion's wife which is Sia. Sia is in charge of the kitchen, meaning she is the one who cooks in the castle, and at the same, she is the student of Oli because when Oli got a free time, he teaches Sia some cooking methods and explains to her some different ingredients and spice that Oli brought back in the Continent. When she first found out about it, she was amazed and, Sia couldn't help but try what she had just learned.
And the sons of both Zion and Sia are Liam, Noah, and Eli. Liam is 30 years old, Noah is 27 years old and, Eli is 25 years old. The three of them are older than Oli but, with respect, they show to Oli, you will think that Oli is older than them, sometimes Oli is uncomfortable because their ages are not that far. The three of them also receive some training and teaching from Zion about the military. Oli knows Zion is a retired soldier but didn't know that he is a retired general, not just a soldier.
Lastly, the only daughter in the family, little Mia. Mia is 4 years old and Mia is quiet fond to Oli because of the stories Oli told her when she was about to sleep.
When Oli arrived at the convenience store, he immediately picked a tray of eggs. He was thinking of an egg sandwich for breakfast as well, the people of Leefside but, thinking that he was about to go back and, forth to get enough tray of eggs for everyone, all he could do is, to sigh.
When he was about to go to the counter, his attention caught something in the corner of the store, in the shelf where different genre of books place in, a specific book caught Oli's attention. The was...
'All you need to know about Industrialization'
Oli could not understand but, he felt that he needed that book and, without hesitation, Oli took it, and at the same time, he went to the counter to pay. When he got out, he checked his bank account and, Oli saw he had enough money he needed to buy some bamboo wood then he go back to his room to immediately go back to the Continent.

When Oli arrived at the castle, everyone was up and waiting for him and, he saw Sia, he gave her the instruction needed to how to cook and do the egg sandwich at the same time instruct her three sons to take the bunch of egg trays to the kitchen.
And when Oli, Elder Alfred, and Zion were the only ones left, Oli asked if he could improve the fence around the village and if he could also enlist the help of the people in Leefside.
Leefside's population is around 500 people, including the elderly, children, men, and women. So if everyone who can help will help, they can efficiently finish the fence that will help somehow with each other's safety.
It was seven in the morning when Sia finished cooking and started giving the egg sandwich to the people and, based on what Oli said, even if there is no gold nugget to exchange, it's okay, but there are still some people who give gold, especially children.
As people lined up, Oli began to inform everyone about his plans for the wall, explaining the importance and security that the wall would somehow provide. When he finished saying this to everyone, they happily and vigorously agreed that they would all help repair and fix the wall immediately.
When Oli heard that, he quickly returned to Earth to buy a pile of bamboo that they would use in making it. It will be eight o'clock in the morning when Oli returns to the Continent while pulling a bunch of bamboos. When Zion and his children saw that, they quickly helped Oli so that they could bring and take out the remaining bamboo stalks that were placed in Oli's room. As from where it came from, they never asked. They know Oli has no evil intentions for everyone and, they also knew, that Oli did not yet fully trust them to tell his secret so, all they can do is wait for Oli himself to say what it is.
After they pulled all the bamboo outside they immediately started what they were going to do.
Oli formed three groups. The first group is the ones who will remove the remains of old walls and the excavators most of this group are men.
The second group is the protective bamboo wall molders. Oli gave them an example of how they would do it Oli did was sharpen the end of the bamboo-like spear and then tied it with the rope he was carrying.
The last group is the one who will put up the bamboo wall and will bring food after lunch. They are much like a logistic team.
After Oli was finished assigning the tasks, Elder Alfred immediately approached him and, asked what is his decision.
"I will accept the offer but, it will only last until someone is found more suitable for this position than me. That's my offer Elder Alfred I really can't lead and manage people. I hope you understand Elder Alfred." Oli answered.
"Sigh, I understand. I'll accept your offer Oli. This will only last until I find someone capable of leading and managing people but, for now, allow me to explain further the social system in the Continent." Elder Alfred began his explanation.
Elder Alfred's first explanation was about what was inside the territory of each Kingdom and Empire. The Kingdom and Empire are composed of the capital of Kingdom and Empire which is the residence of the King or Emperor. Second is the cities, next is town and lastly, village. Usually there are two or more cities in a Kingdom or Empire. That's why there was a social hierarchy.
The social hierarchy on the Continent, which is the King or Emperor, Count, Viscount, and the lowest of all, the chairman.
First of all, the King or Emperor is the most absolute ruler of a Kingdom or Empire. Next is the Count who, rules another city of the Kingdom or Empire that the King or Emperor cannot pay attention to because of the amount of work he does, so the Count took over and ruled in place of the King or Emperor. The Viscount is in charge of the towns, and the chairman is in the villages.
This is what happens, the King or Emperor appoints a Count to a city, the Count, in turn, assigns a Viscount to the town, and the Viscount appoints a Chairman to the villages. And the reports will be like this, the Chairman reports to the Viscount, Viscount reports to do Count and, the Count reports to the King. This is also the set up in terms of paying taxes.
The Count cannot make or form his own army, their army is the soldiers from the royal or imperial army. The Count is the one who pays and feeds the army stationed in their City but the loyalty of the army is with the King or Emperor.
"So, if the Counts can't form their own army, what happened to the Vedrain Kingdom and its allies?" Oli asked because if only a simple Civil War had happened the royal army of Vedrain would have been able to stop the people, so how could the crown have been overthrown.
"What happened was not just a simple Civil War it is an unspoken rule that it is forbidden for any Kingdom or Empire to intervene and, interfere in the Civil War of another kingdom but, the Holy Land is not a Kingdom or Empire, it is a Sovereign. The Holy Land do was to condemn the Vedrain Royal Family as well as its allies as a supporter of demons and beast kin so, the Holy Land sent the Sacred Order for them to be overthrown, the crown, and the defeated Vedrain as well as its allies, the Holy Land appointed a new leader to Vedrain as well as its allies. The leader they appointed was also from the Holy Land, so this is what happened and the situation of Vedrain. The leader doesn't care and ignores whatever happens here." Elder Alfred answered with a bit of disgust in his face.
When Oli heard it, he has only one thought in mind, 'what the fvck was wrong in the Holy Land and its Leader?'

It was five o'clock in the afternoon when the wall surrounding Leefside village was finished. During the day, Oli also went back and forth to the Earth and Continent several times to buy and bring the bamboo needed to finish the wall surrounding the village. Oli also did not know how the people finished erecting the walls immediately because the village of Leefside is almost 40 acre land.
Now, they are all outside and, smiling gazing at the bamboo walls that surround their entire village. Before the walls were dilapidated, now it is standing tall and, it is not like other stone walls but, the bamboo walls that they all built gave a feeling of protection.
Protection that they will need because the problem is approaching will change Oli's outlook on life.
