Chapter 47: Return
It was deep into the night when we returned to the school. Shirogane's siblings separated just a little before. They were not living in the dorm, so it was only Murakami and me walking through the desolate yard.
We were passing it in silence. Well, almost. Murakami had to wiggle from left to right because her bent bike was refusing to go straight. It became even more of a problem once we had reached the sandy forest pass because of many little rocks lying there…
It took a great deal of time before I saw the front of the dorm appear in the darkness.
Murakami went to place her bike into the storeroom, while I went into the building, and then walked straight into the toilet…

I'm not an actual fictional character. I have my physiological needs.
After that, I washed my teeth and went back into my room.

'Thanks for the purchase!' I heard the clown's voice sound in my head.
"No problem… How do I use this thing?"
"Oh, that's very-very simple. You will receive the visions in your sleep!"

Well… Good, then, because I feel really sleepy right now.
I looked out into the dark window of my room, then turned off the light and lay down on the futon.
After laying like that for some time, I suddenly heard a sound in the hallway. Was it Murakami? Doesn't matter. I closed my eyes and drifted into sleep.

…Sometimes you see dreams from a POV other than your own…
Mishima… May, that was her name, was sitting with her legs on the couch inside of her trailer. There was another girl named Ringo besides her. She was stroking Mishima's broken nose with a piece of cotton, putting antiseptic on it.
"…She was strong," suddenly said Mishima.
"Yes," nodded Ringo.
"She even beat Goliath… I think she's at least on the General level."
Ringo nodded again.
"…She became really angry when she attacked me. Probably because she was worried about that guy. He was really dumb by the way."
Ringo put the piece of cotton away and closed the bottle of antiseptic.
"I wonder if she's his girlfriend," said Mishima while slightly frowning.
Ringo sighed, looked straight at her friend, who seemed lost in thought, and asked her:
"Do you like him?"
"What!? Of course, I don't! He's a gaijin and a pretty dumb one. 'Don't punch woman', the hell was it?.." Mishima shook her head, trying to look very offended.
Ringo slowly nodded.
After about a minute, Mishima continued thinking out loud:
"I wonder what school is he from…"

Different time, different place, in a clean wooden shrine…
An elderly man dressed in a grey kimono was sitting beside the altar. At the first glance, it appeared to be Buddhist, but there was a Christian cross attached to it.
A little table was placed before the elder. There was a teapot standing on it and two cups. Apart from them, there were some notes on the table that the man was looking over.
At first, the elderly man seemed focused and serious. Soon, however, a smile appeared on his face.
"Oh, seems like Toma has found new pupils. Shirogane and… Kiryu, hm," the man started stroking his beard.
"I should take a look at them, maybe they will… Ha. No, that's highly unlikely," sighed the man. At some point in time, he placed his hand on the hilt of the wooden sword that was laying beside the table.
Suddenly, a young and sweet voice rang inside the shrine:
"Grandfather, have you finished your tea?.."
The man smiled:
"I almost did…"
"Good… Don't forget to take your pills after you do!"
