Chapter 26: Chapter 26  Goodbye

It was not until Elsie arrived at the police station that she found out about Brenton and Freddie's relationship. Seeing Cristopher's humble and apologetic attitude towards the duo, she felt indignant.

Cristopher had always been arrogant and domineering in front of her, and he had never bowed to others like this. She knew that he was only behaving so for the sake of South Fliffud.

Moreover, the fact it all started because of her made Elsie feel very bad.

After returning to the company, Jay and Cristopher gathered together as usual for a discussion. Normally,  she didn't care about what they talked about, but she couldn't help eavesdropping this time around.

Apparently, Cristopher was instructing Jay to send Brenton five million dollars, which was an astronomical amount of money to Elsie. The guilt of causing so much loss to Christopher intensified, making her grow incredibly uncomfortable.
