Chapter 17: Casey Hates Me

It would look less bad for them this way. Back for chest was more understandable than back for face. Kane might have broken that jerk's nose or knocked out some teeth. Now that he thought about it, he was lucky not to have been arrested, let alone not get detention. 

Vera sighed. "Casey, is everything okay at home?" 

Huh? How was that the conclusion she came to? He didn't understand this girl's thought processes at all. 

But it sucked that he made her worry about Casey because that was the last thing he wanted aside from getting exposed. Which may very well happen because of this incident. Kane was toast. 

"It's fine. I'm fine. Everything's fine!" he insisted before muttering under his breath. "Ugh, he's gonna be so pissed when he finds out."
