Such an overbearing feeling gobbled up the Gorilla as the beautiful voice on the phone rejected him fully. Shen Xi, the CEO of the Hua company never experienced such big shame before. Not gonna lie, but he was speechless as he looked over the phone.
"..."
Chen Ai expressionlessly circled all the errors in the manuscripts with his red colored pen as his raven locks brushed through his forehead, his other hand was holding the phone as he was engaging a conversation towards the CEO.
He was a manager, and now he became an unofficial editor. He was mentally killing that bastard who was supposed to be doing this job. How he wished he could cut off his dick and hang it in front of the company.
"Okay then. Please tell me your name and your assigned team so I could elaborate which person I have to look after." Shen Xi said, his lips lifted faintly as he continued to listen to the latter as he still continued to press his phone on his ear.
"My name is Chen Ai from Team B department. As the manager of this team, I can't accept incompetent people who kept laying their asses off in the ditch while waiting for a rescue. He continued to abide his behavior and kept slipping off the chances I had given him. As a leader of this team, I want his dismissal pronto." Chen Ai said and huffed. He couldn't tolerate this kind of attitude towards him and disrespected him. He always gave that editor a chance, but he still continued acting indifferent.
"Okay then. I will have my secretary clean his desk. Don't worry about it." Shen Xi said. He was a little disappointed because he couldn't come to the office. But, wasn't he a bit bossy than he was? Oh well, what he said was true. It would be a horrible review if someone knew this. He then checked the Team B's identification forms and looked for the editor's form. But as he flipped the pages, there was a beautiful face printed on the form and below the picture is the printed name of the person. His name is Chen Ai. The CEO was intrigued by this and lifted up his lips, and as he looked up to his gender and saw the printed 'BETA' on it.
'So he was a beta. Yet he looks just like an omega. How interesting.' The CEO thought and snickered. He then brushed of his thoughts and looked for the identification form of the editor and as the time passed, he found the form and grabbed it. Then he started checking the background information of the employer and glared at the screen of his laptop after he read all his previous works.
It turns out that this editor haven't had a good background either. He had a job with twenty-four companies but was fired immediately due to his attitude.
As far as he know, the Team B was the most famous team on his company for having a good and amazing review with their contracted authors and their manhua animators were also amazing. Their works were flawless and barely had errors. Their manager was the most strict and perfectionist manager in their company. Why did the staffs brought this incompetent employer there? And also, why didn't he know about this? He then looked at his secretary which he hated most. That slut always seduced him and desperately wanted to crawl on him in the bed. They only did it once because she was in heat but after they did the deed, she was starting to act arrogant and always clinging to him as if she was his lover. He hated this kind of person.
He then called his secretary and the secretary obeyed to go inside. The secretary was acting cute in front of him and was planning to seduce him. However, the CEO just looked indifferently at her and clicked his tongue.
"Have that editor in Team B empty his desk. I don't want an unreliable employer in this company. You are responsible for checking the person's background first, don't tell me that you have become incompetent too?" He looks at his secretary whose face was full of lipsticks and cake powders. Dang, he hated omegas like this, showing off their scents and attracting male alphas. They were just like sluts.
The secretary frowned, actually, she did it because she really hate that beta. But because she was the secretary and also she had assumed that the president is her lover, she did what she wanted. That is, to insult that beta for how highly he is. But now, it seems like the CEO was mad at her because she put that editor on the Team B, she didn't quite understand. She was his 'lover'. He should have sided with him and have him hate that beta. But in reality, the CEO still looked at her in disgust.
"But I checked his background and it is quite good. So I thought maybe the Team B will be a huge benefit for him." She said, but the CEO still didn't look a bit caring towards her. The CEO was cold, and he doesn't even gave her a glance.
He hated Chen Ai, now that the CEO doesn't even bother with her explanation and still sided with him, she was furious. She was mad that him that her head was smoking with anger.
"Really? But that editor doesn't match with your explanation. He was timid, unreliable, and always pushed his works towards the other members. And not just that, this editor had a bad background. You don't want to get fired do you? Or you also want to clean up your desk and throw it outside?" He said making the secretary shuddered. Shen Xi glared at her and showed her his disgust.
'Why?! I am his lover! He should speak up with me!'
"But he..."
"Or do you have something in mind Miss Xian? I heard rumors lately that you are my lover. Is that true?" The secretary was terrified. So, had she been assuming all along? He looked at Shen Xi with a startled expression and reflected of what she had been doing this past few days.
She had been acting arrogant towards the other employers with the company and saying saying the CEO's name behind his back. She had been bullying the other employers because she was acting proudly for being the CEO's 'lover' just because they did the deed. She thought that she had caught the CEO on her arms, but she was wrong. The CEO treated her like an insect he hated the most.
"Just because I helped you in your heat doesn't mean that I like you. And I really hate omegas who were showing off their scents just to seduce me, such as you Miss Xiang. You think I don't know what you have been doing behind my back? Do you really think that I'll take your side? Your lover? Tch! Disgusting!"
The secretary flinched and her fingers trembled. She couldn't believe that the CEO doesn't love her. She pursed her lips and her breath hitched. She really looked pitiful and disgustful. He called one of his trustful staff and glared at the secretary.
"Wei Jian!"
"Yes Sir?"
"Get that editor out of the Team B and have his desk clean. And also..." He pointed at Miss Xiang.
"After you get out of tho office, have your desk cleaned up too. I can't tolerate with this incompetent attitude."
"BUT SIR!" Miss Xiang yelled but the CEO turned deaf to her and she only cried towards him.
"Sir Wei Jian! Come immediately and drag this slut into my office!"
Wei Jian hurriedly went to the CEO's office along with his members and dragged his secretary away. And then, Wei Jian did his task and had the table of the secretary and the editor cleaned off.
The rumors spread very quickly inside the company and the people looked at the secretary who was being dragged outside the company.
"Serves her right!"
"Her and her rotten attitude!"
"What a waste!"
The people whom she bullied looked down on her. Now, they only see her as trash.
Chen Ai heard the news and didn't even flinch. He only looked at the manuscripts and edited it on his own. What matters to him was that, that editor will be gone by his sight. He couldn't have an eyesore on the team.
He sighed and thought, "I can't feed my cat tonight. I'm going to get punished again.
"Finish the work today. The publishing date is near and we have to act fast. Because we don't have an editor for the meantime, we are at a disadvantage. Make sure to work hard and only rest at lunchtime."
"Yes Manager!" His team members said.
The animators were busy at the sketches on the digital screen. Manager Chen Ai roamed around them and corrected their mistakes. He was managing and editing at the same time. They were so busy that they didn't know that they passed lunchtime.
"Rest first and come back once you're done eating. We are almost done with the project and we will finish it until midnight."
The team members were groaning and their spirits left their body. They were so tired and didn't have strength to lift their finger.
Chen Ai sighed, the problem was getting bigger. He had no choice but to let them work overtime due to the publishing date which was tomorrow and he himself wanted to sleep too.
"If we could finish this on midnight, I will treat you to dinner tomorrow. I'll fatten you all to death."
After they heard him, the dispirited atmosphere glowed instantly and they immediately left the workplace to eat.
Chen Ai sighed and sat on his desk. The stress affected his beauty and made him even more dispirited. He pushed off his thoughts and walked towards the cafeteria. The people who passed him stopped eventually and looked at his beautiful face that was full of sweat. His eyebrows furrowed.
They find it beautiful even if he is sweating.
"He's having an overtime again."
"He should rest more."
"He's so cool!"
Praises and admiration looked at his back without him even knowing.
On the office, Shen Xi looked at Wei Jian who was standing in front of his desk and opened his mouth.
"After Manager Chen finished his job, let him come here."
"Understood Sir."
