Chapter 12: Takahiro
Legions are being called for an abrupt summon at the Throne room. The notice left us with no details as to what it was but we were told not to probe further...
The first son of King Weiss. Kei, re-informed me. "Ehhh? A summon? Summon for what again?" He then replied. "Don't 'Ehh' me. It was issued just moments ago." Touching his golden, silky hair, "Ahhh! that's why people call you simple-minded!"
'For some reason, everyone thinks I'm a simple-minded person. But being honest to a fault, I don't think that at all.' I beamed a smile and gave off a vibrant laugh "That's not true at all, Kei. Despite how I look, I'm plenty smart!" Following that, I gestured a knock on my head.
"Uh, anyways. You should go. Father will be arriving shortly..."
I raised my arms, and with spirit, I yelled! "Okaaay!" Kei then, turned. I saw his back and thought. "Well... I think it's time to go"
Executing a Skill,
[Skill: Dimensional Control, Activated] I transported to the King's Throne.
'It seems like only 7 of us have yet arrived. I wonder what's the issue this time.'
I walked to the Throne Room's side... Leaned on my back and turned my head upwards. I pondered 'Hope it's not about a Disastrous-Level Beast this time. The last time was about that and the previous one, too... This brings back sad memories... I wasn't able to partake.'
I dropped my head out of disappointment. Said 'How can those guys even 'not get lost' at that Dungeon? There are over 200 Floors! — 200!'
"Sigh"
'Maybe I should use [Oracle] I'm getting bored. It won't hurt anyone anyways.' Images flashed unto my mind... Looking a few moments ahead the future, I perceived something I wasn't expecting.
Consequently, as my prophecy deemed... Looking straight at the center.
"Hah! It's you!"
—"Hah! It's you"
I pointed my finger while he did the same!
'It's Shuma! From that alleyway!'
"Takahiro-san, was it?"
"How about you, Shuma? Who would have thought... Fate let us meet sooner than I predicted."
Shuma's face, showing signs of surprise and confusion, "Takahiro-san...-kun." I interrupted "Hiro is good"
Looking embarrassed he replied "H-Hiro-san..."
—"Yeah, that works well!"
As follows, he apologized for his ill behavior back, at that alley.
'Well, not that I found it rude or anything. I think protecting those you love is commendable but... That slime... It's adorable and all... But... Pfftt, it doesn't fit!'
Later, he queried about the reason of his presence. He said something about being a Legion! I was relieved! before he finished, I interrupted excitedly "Legion? You? Are you one of the 2 new Members?!"
'Now I see. That was what this summon is about... Thank goodness it's not an issue to slay something! I was depressed for a whole week because of that!'
Afterwards, panicky he flailed around, said —"Shhhh... Yes. I am. So please don't make an embarrassing display!"
Since I found him intriguing, I asked... I wanted him to be my friend but then, his face suddenly turned pale...
Seeing his despondent look, I thought to myself 'Rather...' Impulsively, I proclaimed! "Hahah! There's no need to ask is there? From now on, We're buddies!" He accepted!!
We started small talks. I had fun! It was a very entertaining exchange. I found Shuma to be an interesting guy...
"A slime lover and... I can't really figure him out even with [Oracle]... He's got this mysterious atmosphere around him."
Our conversation continued until Shuma mentioned something weird.
"Ehhh? I only defeated 2500 though?"
—'Ehh?'
With a straight face, boldly stated "I beat 3300..." Shuma paused... "What? It's normal."
'He thinks it's unnatural...?'
"Hiro-san... Are you perhaps an idiot?"
I stomped my foot and replied aggressively! "how rude! Am not!"
He explained why he thought that, then we chattered even more. He asked about elves, I answered. But then, while we conversed... "All silence!" A Palace Knight interrupted.
As the King of Weiss appeared. Entering the Throne room from the Door "Who's the beardy?" Asked Shuma "Pfft, it's the King! Weiss VI!" I replied...
'I'm surprised he couldn't tell!'
Our quiet chatter continued but then, the King called him by name. At once, the King Spoke... As the King discussed, Shuma's looks was that of a serious man.
'I'm no good with complicated stuff... Mutter-Mutter' As a man who don't comprehend complicated stuff, I daydreamed the whole meeting. Although, as it was ongoing, I heard Shuma and the King chatting...
"All of you are dismissed!" And the meeting was over with.
Afterwards, I treaded outside, while waiting for Shuma... Following that, we chit-chattered. Our talk escalated somewhere which led me to decide and give him a tour of the Palace.
As we were having a short trip, Shuma seemed to be analytical... Yet, I felt like he was enjoying himself. With the few 30 mins or something of touring, we reached the Legion's Quarters...
Appearing into sight, "Woaaah!" A portion of the Castle, with rooms so many... I counted... "1, 2, 5, 10, 20, in total" So spacious, yet so cultivated. Hence, I thought 'Refined...' Shuma Exclaimed. Shuma's reaction was way too much interesting to the point that I needed to hold my laugh in...
'I'm curious so let's...' [Skill: Oracle Activated] 'Pfft... HOLD IT IN! Shuma is amusing!'
"Well then, Shuma and Slime. 'Pfft' Have fun contemplating in your room."
Thereafter, we then enter our respective Rooms...
'That Shuma...'
"Ahahahaahah! That was Hilarious!" I laughed! My stomach was then starting to hurt.
'Ahhhh, Finally! Resisting that urge to laugh was difficult! Thank goodness for these Magic Circles! It provides privacy!'
"Ahahahaha!—"
Knock-Knock
I regained composure and wiped off the tears on my eyes.
[Skill: Perception, Activated]
'Ah, it's Shuma...'

I asked, "Shuma. What brings?" He replied with a pensive look in his eyes "Would it be wrong of me to ask for your Stats?" With a welcoming hand, "Come inside" He intruded. Then, I added "Take a seat." I served him tea. As follows, I showed him my Stats.
As he was looking at it, he asked questions... Consequently, I replied properly.
"Say, Hiro-san... You really are an air-head, are you?"
"—Hey! That's blatantly rude!"
'Why do people call me an airhead!?'
"I'll call you Hiro from now on..."
"Shuma... Blehhhh"
And so, I closed my Status panel. I inquired Him "Shuma, show me yours." As I examined his... "Mhmm, it's fairly decent"
"Honestly... If not for my relatively good stats, I would've never become a Legion."
"Well... You became one so that's what matters..."
"Yeah..."
[Skill: Oracle, Activated]
Using the skill, I saw Shuma, sitting on his bed. He placed Rimu-chan on his lap and laid flat. Then uttered on a low tone "Tomorrow, I'll visit the Central Library..." Afterwards, his prattle was way above my head that I couldn't comprehend.
"Shuma. Go talk to Rimu-chan or something. I'm pretty sure you've never had the chance to entertain her today..."
"Yeah, sure. Thanks..."
And so he left
"Now, what should I do?"
[Skill, Perception, Activated]
'Well, it seems like no trouble is brewing in the whole kingdom so far...'
"Come to think of it. I met Shuma by doing the same. He really is a mysterious fellow"
'I should pay that Suisei Yuuki a visit too...'
So, I tracked her using Perception. 'Found her.' I used a skill to teleport near her. She stood firmly in front of a tree. Looking at me, she walked away...
—"Ah, wait!" I ran towards her. She then turned and responded with a glare and left...
'Waaah... She's scary. I'm glad we finally have a Shuma...'
Afterwards, the hours passed by quickly. Everything was the same as usual but Shuma's appearance, along with that scary woman, was something good for a change of pace. Despite all that has happened, I made a good human friend.
