''YOU STUPID BITCH! Do you know what you have done?''
''No sir,...'', she said in a trembling voice not knowing what had happened.
''YOU DON'T?! You mean you don't know that you offended the son of this company's president?''
''Offended? How did I ever offend him?''
''HOW?! You stupid whore! Who told you to have feelings for someone who outclassed you by a whole ocean! And who gave you the guts to confess your feelings!''
''What! How did you know that? And how could that have offended him? And no one should know of this. How!?''
''How?! The President's son is someone who will inherit this company. Do you know how badly you ruin his image from being confessed by you, you 'Gold Digger'! The president's son was so disgusted at your guts from even attempting such vile acts that he even considered requesting his father to get you fired! Do you know how much bullshit I had to put up for your stunt!''
Hearing those words was like being stabbed a hundred times in my chest. Of course I had no interest in who he was or what he possessed. I was genuinely amazed by him and I really loved him. I never thought that those acts of kindness he showed me were all lies. So all those acts and speeches when he appeared in the office were just a mask to hide who he really was. What a stupid delusion I kept myself in thinking some fairy tail scenarios would happen and took my chance. This is the real world. So that's why I have been getting eye jabs the whole day at the office. I think everyone already knew what I did. What a load of crap!
''LUNA! You went deaf?! Or are you so in shock that you can't stand being fired!''
''What! Fired? Why?!''
''Why? Because I feel like it. I'm not in a mood right now and it's not like you do good work anyway.''
''How could you!!!''
''How could I not? Or are you saying that there's something else you can do that will at least not disappoint me?''
The moment he said that, he stood up and went behind her. He went round her once while giving perverted glares at her body.
'Wha… What do you think you're doing?''
''Hmmm. If not for your looks, you might have not disappoint.''
The perverted old man said that and stroked her right thigh.
Luna felt chills and reacted in fear. She distanced herself and stood near the door.
''I.. I'm leaving! I quit!''
The pervert only gave her glances of disappointment and disgust which seemed threatening but said no more and she left the office trembling.
She reached her desk and took all her stuff and left the building.
She ran out of the building's main door and into the street. She grabs hold of a taxi and tells her destination. The driver knew something was wrong and only suspected the cause but dared not say anything. He only drove the taxi silently and slowly so as to give her time to calm herself. Tears slowly started to appear and before she could control herself, she was on her knees crying like a child. She does so for quite a while and they were soo halfway towards her destination.
It started to snow which would make any individual happy but to her it only reminded her of the cold life she had been living. That moment a bunch of old past memories came back to her. Reminded her of her awful past. Being ragged, bullied, shunned, and even her own father left her to die with her unemployed mother. There had been no happy occasions in her life that would make her at least a bit thankful for being alive. All she could think of was the white pillow that would collect her tears every night. However she may have cried every night but she was not weak willed. Her mother managed to find a small assistance job after her father left her and she was able to continue attending school. She went past all her obstacles and managed to even find a job and she thought her hellish life would end but only to be taught the hard way that there was no end to her sufferings.
Her mother was getting old. Bed ridden most of the days. She had long quitted her job and the only one supporting the family of two was Luna. If anything else she does remember that smile her mother gave her when she finally graduated college. It was her only happy moment. But it was too short lived.
Wild thoughts ran through her and soon the driver called out to her that they had reached their destination. She seemed to be in a trance but reached out to her purse to pay for the car fare. However the driver stopped her before she could do so and told her that it would leave a bad taste for him to take money from someone who looks more miserable than himself and told her that it's a special service. She only smiled as an apology and gave her thanks.
''Home… ..''
She looked at the place she was staying and never noticed how rundown it was until today.
''I wonder how mother is… how should I tell her? No.. how could I even tell her''. She wipes her remaining tears and heads inside. The place was dark and seemed as if no one had ever even bothered a bit. She had always been so busy she never noticed. She went straight towards her mother's bedroom and slowly opened the door only to find the most horrifying scene ever. There she was, on the air, hanging from the ceiling fan.
Luna could not even let out a scream and passed out on the floor by the doorway.

A moment has passed and she slowly but surely started to regain her consciousness. The moment her thoughts came back to her, she sat up and how she wished it was a dream but it was too good to be true. Her mother had really committed suicide. She could not even let out a single cry or tear. She took the stool that was laying there and slowly untied the cloth around her mother's neck. She felt her stiff cold body and noticed the clock on the wall that it was already midnight. No wonder it felt so silent. She struggles a bit but manages to lay her on the bed. It was then she noticed a neatly folded paper by the side near her pillow. She sat down and read the note her mother had left her. It goes:-
''My dear Luna, I am sorry to have brought you into this world only for you to suffer. Have not once did I ever manage to even give up a single happy day. I know your life has been full of hardships and it pains me everyday that I can't do more or give you anything that would have at least let you sleep without crying for just one night. Even though you cried, all I could do was come when you're asleep and wipe your tears for you. How it saddens me that I can do so little for you my sweetheart. It saddened me more to think that one day I will just be a burden to you. Now that you have grown. You have a job and that makes me so secure that you're now able to stand on your own feet, I can not let myself drag you with me. The thing is my little Luna, mother has not been well. And it wouldn't have been long before I passed away too. But if I wait too long then you would notice and you would have done everything to keep me and it would only burden you so. My dear Luna, please don't be sad. I will always be with you. No need to think of me as your mother but you will always be my child. I only ask that you live on and be happy with your life. I am sorry I won't be able to see you through for much longer but I do hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and father one day. Despite his actions, I know he had his reasons. Please forgive him top for mommy's sake, okay dear. I love you. You're the best thing in my life. My beautiful daughter, Luna Mellvourne.
From your Loving Mother. ''

Tears rolling down. They were coming down a lot harder than when she was in the car. With the note in hand, Luna ran. Out in the darkness, out in the cold, Luna ran. She cried her heart out while running and kept on running. Her hands were starting to become red and her face was too. The cold air has probably chilled her body but she could not feel a single coldness. She was no longer running but walking slowly and dragging herself with the note clenched on her hand.
She then finally stops. She was at the bridge and went to the railing and stared at the cold river below.
''That river's probably so cold it would freeze a person to death'', a thought ran through her mind.
''I haven't taken a bath yet either. And I'm too far away from home. Should I take it here?''
She climbed over the railing and stood on the other side with no longer any bar to keep her from falling down. She was ready. She took the letter and folded it again and kept it inside her clothes. She stared down and saw the reflection of the night sky on the calm river.
''The sky seems to be very shiny tonight''.
She then took a look towards the sky and for the first time in her whole life. She saw the most beautiful sight ever. Millions of stars on the winter night sky like gems in the dark room fill the space above her. She can only be happy that such a beautiful night sky would watch her at her last moments. And then as she watched the sky, she saw the most spectacular scene of all. Seven shooting stars appeared before her and it was the most magnificent sight ever.
''Seven shooting stars? Haha, it is unbelievable that seven shooting stars appear now but that means I get seven wishes right? Hell! I don't care anymore''.
''SEVEN WISHES! Then hear me God's above these are my wishes...''
Luna shouted out her wishes and screamed to her heart's content. When all her wishes had been said loud and clear, she turned around and without a moment's hesitation, she leaned back with her eyes never closing for even a moment, and with a smile on her face, she stared at the sky while falling down the bridge.
''Mother, I'm sorry….''
-
''Your wishes,...have been heard loud and clear''.
