Chapter 10: .Step by step toward the future
_______(After 3 days)_______
Reno was lost in thought on his way home from school.
Because he planned his future from a young age, he chose to be a villain rather than a hero.
Reno did not choose this path because he hated heroes or loved villains, he simply weighed his options and made the right choice for him.
If he chose the path of a hero, he would have to spend the rest of his life helping and saving people, but the problem was his quirk.
His quirk was lethal, allowing him to one-shot kill anyone with a single touch, and since the path of heroes forbids killing, he could not use it in combat, this simply made him a quirkless person.
At best he would have ended up being a sidekick for some hero who runs an agency, his job would have been to make entrances with his quirk to rescue trapped people or something like that.
In short, there was no way for him to become stronger, the path of the hero for him was a dead end with no future.
But what about the villain? Reno was not a psychopath who kill for pleasure, even in his previous life he was a hired killer, killing for him was just a business, so why did he choose this path? Will it enable him to achieve his goals? The answer is NO.
All he would get from this path was an endless number of heroes who wanted to capture him, this path might allow him to live as he wanted and use his quirk without limits, but the risks were also high, to be hostile to the hero community with his current capabilities was suicide.
Although Reno was strong in close combat, he couldn't do anything against long-range quirks.
For example, All Might can crush him only with the shock wave of his punch, Reno won't be able to get close to him.
Also, Endeavor can grill Reno with his fire before the last can get close to touching him.
But if that is the case, then why did Reno choose such a dangerous path? Simply because he had a plan.
This plan will ensure that he becomes stronger and lives the life he wants without any fears.
This plan would ensure that he battles the likes of All Might and Endeavor toe to toe.
Everything Reno has done so far, as well as what he will do in the future, is part of this plan.
Reno stopped his train of thoughts when he reached the orphanage, the matron was waiting for him at the door accompanied by a beautiful lady.
The lady was wearing a red dress, her yellow hair was hanging down, her green eyes were shining from afar, she was wearing thick make-up which added to her attractiveness, all this in addition to some of the jewelry she wore gave her the appearance of a rich woman.
This woman was Shiho, she was completely different from the woman Reno had met 3 days before as if she was not the same person.
As soon as Shiho saw him, a wide smile appeared on her face, Reno pretended he didn't know her and turned around to face the matron.
"I just got back from school, we don't usually have guests but it looks different today, could you introduce me to this lady?" Reno asked the matron.
"The woman in front of you is Miss Shiho, she came here to meet you and talk to you," the matron replied.
"She came for me?" Reno asked, confused by the situation.
"Let's talk inside, you'll understand." The matron, not surprised by Reno's reaction, led him and Shiho to her office inside.
After everyone was seated, the matron broke the silence.
"Reno, Miss Shiho has especially come here for you, she wants to adopt you, so tell me what you think."
Reno's eyes widened and he became astonished, then turned to Shiho.
"Miss Shiho, thank you very much for your kind heart but may I ask why me in particular? There are many children younger than me here, perhaps you will be happier to adopt one of them," Reno said.
"The matron asked me the same question, I want you for two reasons, first is that you remind a lot of my beloved dead nephew, and secondly I am a woman who lives alone and I will need some help that a small child can not provide, but a teenager like you can, you don't have to worry about anything, I have my job and I will be able to take care of you, I have prepared all the necessary documents and the matron reviewed them and she found no reason to refuse my request, now all that remains is your answer, if you accept, we will go to my house at once and start our new life together." Shiho said with a warm smile as she look at Reno.
"Matron, this…" Reno looked at the matron and seemed hesitant.
"There is no need to worry, Reno, I have checked all the documents, Miss Shiho already has the capabilities to take care of you.
Now all you have to do is to choose, if you want Miss Shiho to be your family, then say yes, and if you don't, know that the orphanage will always be your home," said the matron to Reno with a smile.
Reno thought about it for a while and then raised his head and met the matron's gaze with a serious look.
"I thought about it, I don't want to stay in the orphanage while there is a family that wants me, I'd rather leave my place for another orphan who needs it, so I'll go with Miss Shiho, I want to thank you for taking care of me all these years," Reno said gratefully.
The matron got up from her seat and hugged Reno, she wanted to tell him that he can come here anytime to meet his friends but remembered that he has none, she couldn't help but smile helplessly at that.
"Reno I knew you since you were a little kid, first I thought you were crazy seeing you exercise day and night without rest, but now I understand that you are dedicated, make sure to realize your dream and become a great hero".
' I am already working to achieve my dreams since I was a kid all the things I did had a purpose, I never wasted a single minute to achieve my goals, although none of them involve me becoming a hero tho' thought Reno, but he didn't say that all he said was " I will for sure".
After packing his things and saying goodbye, Reno left the orphanage with Shiho.
As soon as they were far away from the orphanage Reno stopped and stared at Shiho.
Shiho tensed up meeting his gaze, it was not warm nor murderous gaze, his eyes were indifferent and emotionless, she didn't know what he was thinking which made her very nervous.
"w-what?" Shiho asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"you look beautiful" said Reno, and started walking again.
Shiho just stood there, watching his back while he walked away, it took her some moments before her nervousness goes away, she was afraid he was going to leave her now that he is out, but in the end, it was only a compliment, a compliment that she loved to hear.
"God, why am I so tense" said Shiho while touching her cheeks with both hands, she was blushing, she didn't know if she has a fetish and was into younger boys, or if this was Reno magic, she had been told that she was beautiful almost all her life, but not a single one made her as happy and fluttered as now.
Shiho rushed quickly to catch up with Reno, she walked by his side, casting side glances his way from time to time.
The Duo arrived at the house, Reno put his luggage, took the rest of the money he had, and was about to walk out of the house when he was stopped by Shiho.
"where are you going?" she asked.
Reno looked at her straight in the eyes "where am I going or what I intend to do is none of your business, I will be back later, that's all you need to know, so cook us something to eat for dinner and wait for me like a good girl" answered Reno indifferently and closed the door behind him.
Shiho felt displeased by his answer but at the same time she felt relieved by the fact that he will be back, she was afraid that he will leave her as soon as he got out of the orphanage.
"why did he have to reply in such a cold way, is he still angry at me because of what happened in his childhood?
I don't think so, he already told me that he doesn't hold it against me, even so, I need to improve my image and get close to him, he is my only hope now" pondered Shiho.
meanwhile, Reno was heading toward the clothes store, it's been 3 days, his outfit must be ready to be picked up.
Reno reached the store and the middle-aged man instantly recognized him, he led him to the backroom and gave him his outfit.
Reno paid the other half of the sum and walked toward the mirror.
after putting on his outfit Reno looked at the reflection of himself.
black ink hair with bloody red eyes, a long black coat that reach his calf, the collar of the coat was standing upward reaching his ears, shining metallic black boots reaching his knees, a black shirt and black jeans and finally, a black belt holding a very sharp machete, the sheath of the machete was tied to the back part of the belt, no one will be able to see it if they face him.
He looked completely black, if he had black skin and black eyes you won't be able to see him at night.
Reno grabbed the mask and wear it, the mask has a filter on it, Reno remembered from the anime that there are heroes like midnight who use gas, he didn't overlook this detail and requested that the mask has a filter on it.
Looking at himself in the mirror, only his eyes were visible, the mask covered from his nose to his neck.
a creepy sight indeed, especially those teeth combined with his red eyes made him look very scary.
even the middle-aged man felt a shiver down his spine, he had never seen a teenager like this in his entire life, since the moment he put on his outfit he seemed like a veteran killer who has killed dozen of people in his life, Wich should be impossible for someone of his age.
Reno seemed satisfied with his outfit, he put on his old clothes and walked out of the store.
Now it's time to move on to the next phase of his plan, but first, he has to solve Shiho's problems, not because he wanted to help her or something like that, the thing is just that solving her situation will help him to achieve the second phase of his plan.
Also, he didn't want to live in this shabby house, he needed more space and seclusion for his second part of training and other purposes in the future.
With those thoughts in mind, Reno headed toward Shiho's house, a new chapter in his life will begin.
