Almanac
This chapter's purpose is to explain certain background information about the novel. The majority of information will be brief summaries of the races, their planets and how earth has affected them. If you wish to learn more about the race or their planet then read the novel or simply ask as discussing the information about a race would be a lot of fun for me as well as inspiring me.
Races- the various races that exist in the universe, when a new race is introduced their information will be added to the Almanac for readers to refer to.
Tech tier- a measurement of the technological development of a race. A tier 1 race has achieved blacksmithing and is capable of mass construction with stone. A tier 2 race has made full use of the planets natural resources from ores to fossil fuels, their populations are capable of travel across the planet with flying machines as well as entering the stages of social comfort. A tier 3 race has achieved multi planet colonization as well as full automation of food growth. Teleportation across a planets surface is well known in a tier 3 race. A tier 4 race has achieved interplanetary teleportation and has begun to colonize their quadrant of space. Diseases are a thing of history. A tier 5 race has achieved full control of their genome and is capable of even digitizing the conciousness of a being, manipulation of a bloodlines purity is not possible yet.
Affinity- a connection to an element. Some affinities are aquired through a bloodline while others are aquired through treasures or the system rewards. Each race has an affinity that is most commonly found in their planet due to bloodlines.
System: the universal power system that is intended to teach and improve the user as a reward for hard work. The user will recieve quests through the system and upon completion or failure of the quest the system will also apply the resulting reward or punishment.
Other beings may also provide quests for beings of their choice but the system will require a contract with the quest giver as well as a fee.
Energy- the primary resource of the system, in gaming terms one would call it mana but as mana exists in the universe this name does not apply. Energy is exclusive to the system and can only be increased through the system.
Mana- the power of the universe. Different worlds have different names for it and at one time earth referred to this as Qi. Mana is the most common name for it but there is no official name given as the system has never given a clear answer on what it is called.
Cultivation- a method used by many races but in certain regions of the human race it has been developed to a powerful source of development for the race. No known race has developed cultivation to the same level as humanity making it the cornerstone of a new era for the universe.
Skills- abilities given by the system or developed through the efforts of the users. If a user develops a skill that the system has recognized the potential of it will give the user the option to register it with the system, should the user register their skills with the system the system may later offer the user a contract with rewards to allow the system to give the skill to another user as a quest reward.
Elementals- beings made of the elements and having the greatest affinity for these elements. A user with maximum affinity for an element may even receive a quest from the system that would reward them with an elemental subrace.
Primordial- the first elemental generation. The elemental race was founded by the primordials and they are the most powerful of each element, a primordial is a god-like existence.
Origin- the first primordials. The kings and queens of their respective element, the progenitors of the primordials. The origins are ruled by their own progenitors; Aether, Void, Plasma and Gaia.
Races
Human:
Homeworld- Earth/Gaia
Affinity- earth/metal
History- A new race to the universal system that has proved themselves worthy to join it. In addition to being the first race to properly cultivate when mana touched their planet they are also the only race to have used cultivation to such a level that it can make the system add an additional statistic so that a cultivator could be properly measured and scaled with the system.
Racial tier- tier 4
Obsidian Elf:
Homeworld- Caldea
Affinity- shadow/earth
History- one of the many elven races that are descended from the ancient tier 5 race of the Fey. Labeled as one of the fair folk for their connection to the Fey and quite social compared to many of their cousins. The obsidian elves are not like dark elves who have an obsession with battle but have dedicated much of their lives to learning.
Racial tier- tier 3
Malarian:
Homeworld- Ma'la
History- a race that has dedicated itself to universal peace. As one of the only known tier 5 races they have moulded their forms to be perfectly suited to space travel and discovery of unknown races that they can then bring into universal aliance. Colloquially known as grays due to history with the recently met human race they have taken a liking to the nickname as they do with many if the terms their race recieves. Some of their people even choose to be called by their favorite terms rather than malarian.

Domah:
Homeworld- Draconis
Affinity- fire/poison
History- one of the fair folk descendants of the draconians and the fey. The domah have spent the majority of their history in the study of chemistry and alchemy which they view as the same, the domah spend much of gheir time searching for new methods to apply their knowledge and currently many have taken on the concept of the philosopher's stone as a pet project after learning about the legends in human history.
