Chapter 2: Source and Aptitude
"Mhm... straight to the point I see, very well then let me introduce myself, my name Shalvaveesha Primordial Goddess of death, rank 8th of 20th empyrean power that govern this world, and you Author is the person I have chosen to be my right hand."
"I see very well then you have my permission to explain yourself now."
"Egh!?" Said Shalvaveesha is general surprised, so much so, she had to question Author mental state.
"You know I just said I was the Goddess of death, and you have the heart to say that you give me permission to speak."
"I know, but from where I came from there is saying that goes like this, time is money, in short the quicker you begin to explain things the better it will be for both of us, so we don't lose out, I'm sure as the primordial Goddess of death you are a busy person."
"So, you just straight up accept the fact that I am a primordial Goddess."
"Yes."
"You know I could just be lying to you."
"Yes."
"You know it would be nice to at least get a decent reaction, and some respect at least, even if you are from another world."
Author ear perk up at her last statement, "another world", which meant that this Goddess clearly abducted him from his world.
"I see so you're a Goddess from another world?"
Shalvaveesha voice remain with a melancholic tone but it was clear as day, she was happy to boast about herself.
"Yes, like I said before, I am the primordial Goddess of death, rank 8th in the world power hierarchy, but many refer to me as the undead Goddess."
"I see so not only are you powerful Goddess but also a talented kidnapper?"
"Fufufu... praise me mo... ha... what the hell did you just say about me?"
Shouted Shalvaveesha with clear anger in her voice.
"I said you were a kidnapper."
"I'm not a kidnapper."
"Well, you said yourself that you summoned me here, and that you're a Goddess from another world, by adding all the evidence it clear that you kidnap me."
"No, no, no, no I'm not a kidnapper, you have no idea how hard it was to even brought you here in the first place, I had to sacrifice a lot of source to bring you here, and where not even talking how hard it was to reconstructed your already damage soul."
Author eye widen at the thought of two thing first was the word "source" and second was the fact she claims he had a "damage soul" of course, he was going to question both of these things.
"First off what is source, and secondly what do you mean by my soul is damaged?"
Shalvaveesha expected Author to ask her this question it was only natural, so she answered it to the best of her capabilities.
"Source is type of energy that allows one to bring fort a Miracle unto reality, every living being in this world can use it, you can even say it's the building blocks of this world fundamental laws and state, without it nothing would have existed today."
"Elaborate further please, more information is needed."
Said Author who wanted to understand this so call source a little better.
"Sigh in short it's the thing you otherworlders would call mana back in your world, you would mostly see it in those things you called anime and manga, the only difference is, that source itself is more like a universal energy that exist all around us, it's mostly used to preform Miracle known as magic, with it anything is possible, that is if you have enough understanding over it in the first place."
"I see, can you give me an example."
"Ok for example, source comes in all shape and form, that a definite fact, for example sunlight, it the most used source energy and the most common magic to exist, as it is use as a way to cast fire magic, normally when the sun isn't out mages have to rely on another source of thermal energy or their inherent skill tree."
"For example, I use both spatial source and time source to rip a hole in the space time continuum in order to summon a random soul from a random world to this place, and that's how I brought you here, but when you came here you were already fading away, so is use my specialty which is death source to make your death invalid so I can heal you, over time your soul has been healing slowly but surely within my realm for the pass 567 years since I brought it here."
"I see, so I'm technically 607 years old."
"Was that really your only concern and reaction after I explain your previous situation."

"Do you even care what happen around you."

"Can you explain to me why I was fading away, and also what is a skill tree it seems like something important."
"I can understand the first one, but been from a world that is rich in entertainment how can you not know what a skill tree is, don't you watch anime and read manga."
"I never watched anime in my life, never played games in my life, at the age of six I was force to grow up and fend for myself, hence the reason I am responsible adult."
Shalvaveesha eyes widen at this fact and the only thing she could say was this.
"Your childhood must have been really boring and sad."
"No mother was just stricter than many mothers that exist today, she just gave me a starting point in life and it was my responsibility to make the most of it, while others were polluting their brains watching television and playing video games, I was at library studying so I can get a scholarship, while other were playing with each other, I took many jobs from around the neighborhood and start saving at a young age so I could put myself in college, we weren't poor nor were we rich, if anything we were mid-class at best, but the way me and my older brother was brought up was far different from the mass majority, as we learn to take responsibility at a young age."
"I see so your mother has drilled that mentality to your very being, hence the reason you behave like this, truly admirable on her part, and even more admirable that you followed her way of living."
Author then began to speak his mind right after she said that.
"Yes, it's because of her, I lived a simple but happy life, so you could say, I died without regrets, but enough of me, time is a precious thing, can explain to me why I was fading away and also what's a skill tree, and also the importance of it."
"Very well then Author, the reason you were fading away because your world lacks a God, hence fort there was no underworld much less a heaven to begin with, so your soul would have slowly faded away and became one with nature and suffice as nothing but ghastly energy."
"Basically, renewable energy." Replied Author instantly to Shalvaveesha explanation of why he was fading away.
"Pretty much." Replied Shalvaveesha to Author response, as she continues to speak.
"Now it time for me to explain what a skill tree is, but for me to do this, I must first explain what an aptitude is to you in order for you to understand the importance of a skill tree, you see an aptitude is natural ability to do something at a supernatural level it I can be anything, for example my aptitude is death, and because of that I specialize in the very word itself, another thing you should know is that as you grow older or as you train you can increase your aptitude, hence the reason why you will unlocked new skill related to it, these skill as referred to as fruits."
"Each person has an imaginary tree within their souls, of course by this rule, each person tree is equally different and unique from others, but it also because of this that your ability to control source that align with your aptitude makes its a hundred time better compare to other, for example because my aptitude is death, my control over the death source is far better than any necromancers that exist today, as I can literally kill and resurrect anything."
Upon hearing this, Author was in deep thought, both aptitude and source energy sound equally amazing and coinvent to possess.
And that when hit him, could he maybe use this coinvent energy named source energy, and the cheat like concept of possessing an aptitude.
Of course, he was going to ask this, so he ask upfront.
"By chance can I use this so-called source and aptitude."
"Technically speaking you can't use either, for the very reason you are not of this world."
"I see."
Replied Author with an uncaring tone.
"Egh... you got over that pretty quickly, honestly other would been pretty devastated to hear such bad news, you know this world is pretty unforgiving, so without either to help you in many situations, you can't survive in this world, hence the reason that both source and aptitude are very important to have."
"Well, you work with what you got woman, I don't believe no world is fair, it just a matter of you got it or you don't it as simple as that."
Upon hearing this Shalvaveesha actually had face of shocked, reason be Author was truly special even the way he thinks.
So, she spoke her true intention, since it was good time to bring it up.
"Well Author technically speaking, you don't have either, but I can make it so that you are reborn in this world with both, of course under one condition."
"As long as the pay is decent, I don't really care."
"Now you're taking this as a job interview, sigh I'm finish sure whatever if you want, I can pay you with currency as well, I have no problem with that, so tell me do you want to know what the job is and reason I summon you here."
"Yes, make it as short as possible."
"Technically speaking this world, we Gods and Goddess govern is basically a realm each is the size of the Earth, they are twenty realms in total, originally, they were forty but you see, outside these realms are monsters called outers, we call them void ones, they are entities that destroy everything in their path and corrupt, mutilated, violate, and disintegrate everything in their sight."
"They're basically the embodiment of evil, and as you may have guessed, they have already killed half of the Gods including their individual realms as well, and to make things worse they have created monster that now plagued all of Pangea."
"It's for that very reason that all the Gods and Goddesses come to conclusion that we will summon twenty heroes each from individual worlds throughout the omniverse to aids us in our desperate time of need, I ask of you Author-Sama, please save my world, save my people, save everyone because at the rate we are going, we won't last much longer."
Pleaded the voice of the woman with a melancholic tone of speaking, meanwhile Author been Author actually began to think about it, he didn't ask about returning to his old world because he was already dead, and since he was technically dead by his world standards, he simply agree with a couple of condition.
"Ok, I will help you, but seen that this place a very dangerous places, I request three necessary things."
Shalvaveesha smiled at this from the realm she was taking to Author from, as she said.
"I can give you anything as long as nothing too insane."
"Aright, for now I just want a decent pay so I can get bye in your world, after all money is very important and essential need in any world, and the other two favor, well I will use them when I absolutely need to."
"I see you basically want me in your favor sure I can do that."
"Good with that said a business contract has been set between two parties and I am pleased with the terms and so are you, with that said were do we moved from here?"
"First you must pick your new race that align with the undead category."
