Chapter 2: the town of Dark woods

I looked down in the water again this water was not dirty or anything I could see the rocky bottom and swimming throw the water was fish I seen many fish that looked simple to my old world like I could see some sun fish and one or two cat fish but there was many that I did not know like there was one that looked like a eel but its eyes was glowing I did not like the feeling it was giving me I started to test my knew body it was week compared to what I remembered of how I felt before I started to run from the nights and there empire I flexed my arms and legs and I relived something this body was not normal like a human I could tell that I could be much stronger thin a human but not in the state I am in the know so the scaled ones were different from humans that was something that this body's memory did not know but since I was human I could tell ok I said looking to the north upstream to a huge mountain rang I started to walk to what I could remember I came from the south west I started to grind my teeth this body's last owner was a lazy chieftain's sun who spent most of his time doing a hole lot of nothing I was the 2 oldest in my family so they did not expect much from me so I just did nothing watching others do for me luckily he was forced to learn how to read and wright plus math but nothing more I did not like this I hated lazy people in my old life I could understand being lazy every know and thin cuz lets be honest everyone is lazy sometimes but he just sat around for 16 years and did not even learn how to hunt or use any weapons and the sad part was that his tribe was known to be a clan of worriers and let us just say he was the out cast of his family and yet he did not steal any food win he was hungry cuz he thought it was wrong I smiled evilly I goes I should stop calling the old me from know on I will live how ever I want and this body week it is for know its mine and the memory's of my old self are mine to I will except it and move on I was walking along the river side walking throw bushes and slowly moving over down trees I walked for an hour and still there was no town I stopped to take a drink from the river win I did I heard something on the other side of the river I looked up it was a buck it walked to the river side brought his head down and started to drink from the water to this deer looked like a white tail from my old world but there was something different the horns seemed to glow but at a closer look they was not glowing but they just was shiny like they had no mud or grim on them my mouth almost dropped in my memory's of this world I know they called some animals the same name as my old world so they called this a male deer or a buck it seemed to notice that it was being watched it looked up to me and its eyes locked with mine what I see in his eyes was not fear it was almost like it was us to humans around this area witch was interesting it simple snorted and walk off I stud back up my legs cramping I looked behind me and seen some blackberries on a tree I walked up to it examining the berries sense the old me did not hunt or read any books I could not tell if it was ok to eat but it looked like blackberries from my old world I took one off the tree and shrugged welp it kills me but I need food I eat the berries and it tasted like black berries I swallowed it and waited I did not feel anything and my stomach was growling for more I started to eat as may berries as I could reach I made shore only to pick the ripe ones but I know this would not fill my stomach so I looked to my dirty and torn shirt I tore off two peace in my shirt the sleaves but first I decided to wash the tore peace's so that the grim and sweet would not harm the berries I did the best I could do and tide them into a little bag witch I put as many berries as I could in it before I tide it to my rope belt I started to walk north upstream again but I was only walking for two minutes win I seen something glowing black in the water it was close to the shore I stopped and hoped into the water to see what it was I reached into the water and picked it up it was a pretty big peace of obsidian it was about the size of a salf ball but it was shaped into a square I smiled at my luck and looked around the rock was and found 10 little peace's of obsidian they was about a finger long and all in deferent shapes well I walked out of the river back onto land and took off my shirt and wrapped all this obsidian in it and also tide it onto my rope belt on my left side and the berries on my right side but they was bellow my shoulder so if I wanted them I would have to turn a little to grab them I started to walk again but this time I did not stop I seen a few more peace's of obsidian but I did not stop and pick them up but I did note ware they was at I started to see things that were signs of people like the first sign was boot tracks from it would seem one person but the more I walked the more signs I seen like grass pushed down like people move throw it and lot and broken sticks even the trees seemed to grow around this path like they know what would happen if they didn't I kept on walking for a few more minutes and I saw fish traps so I know I was vary close not even a minute went by win I seen the trees stop and there was a dirt road it was not set next to the river but it was close enough to see from the river the trees around the road was one on either side but ware I was at next to the river there was still trees I decided to walk in the woods just in case there was news about me but I did not creep along or anything it would look bad if someone seen be creeping in the wood line next to a road no they would just think I am checking some fish traps I smiled at that idea I looked at the nearest fish trap it was close and there were no signs on it to say who owned it I took a knee and reached my hand into the water I know what tip of trap this was you would ty a string to something on the river age and throw this box looking thing into the water with a hole on one side and with food inside it you see the fish would swim into this bock but won't be able to get out cuz the hole on the out side can stretch but if the fish tries the same on the inside it won't work I pulled the string till the basket was close enough so I could grab it I opened this basket and there flopping around was 3 fish two of them was sun fish and the other was a small cat fish I took the two sun fish and left the cat fish with was bigger thin the sun fish and closed the basket and throw it back into the water I walked away from the trap so no one would think I just took any fish from it took out one of this small obsidian peace's out and started to gut plus skin the fish it was not hard sun fish was easy to skin I washed the peace of obsidian I used and also washed the meat thin I rapped the meat in some leaves witch stock to the meat but I did no mind a little dirt or leave win I eat it I put everything in the shirt bag I had and started to walk again I knew that the town was close cuz I could tell my how the road looked it was not well worn by travel so I could goes that this town was not a big one probably something I just thought of there was obsidian in that river and the river and up stream was the mountain o gods I said up that mountain rang is a volcano and it would have to be close enough for the obsidian to get ware it was even if it exploded and peace's went flying the big peace I found it is not vary big but to help my statement the road started to have different little paths probably farmers paths they even went throw the water and to the other side and as to prove that I was right there was an older man probably in his late 30s he had long black and gray hair it was toyed up in the back and he had a beard but it was not that long but shaggy like he never shaved ever this hair was dark gray he worn dirty warn clothes his shirt had sleaves but they seemed to ripped and stopped at he elbow like he ripped them off this shirt was gray his pants was long and holy holding up his pants was a well warn leather belt the leather looked faded and also looked hand made on his back was a backpack basket full of stuff like wheat , potato's , carrots and that sort of things I even could smell some salted meat I did not know how I could smell it from here but I could he was crossing the river about 40 feet from me and he looked like he was having trouble he was not a tall man if I had to goes he was 5'5 maybe but I could tell he was having troubles with the current and win he got half way a crossed I know he was not going to make it I rain to him as fast as I could being weekend I heard the man say well sun of a bitch if only my fucking sun could have gotten off his ass and helped his dear old father out but no he ran off to town ahead of me to see a stopped crush I got to him in time he was about to fall I grabbed him helping him stayed him self he looked to me and in his brown old eyes I could see gratitude and him he seem me his eyes widen and he spoke but it was not common but in dricanic is what my people call it but to a human like him they call it the scaled speak thank you young one for your help if it was not for you I might have gone for a dive he had a little but of a accent but all around it was good I spoke in common to show him I speak it your welcome old timer but let me take your loud off your back so we can get out of this water the old man was surprised saying I could speak common but thin his eyes went from friendly to suspicious but he did not show it on his face um thank you but I think I got it I shrugged up to you it was only an idea nothing more here give he your shoulder I can at lest block some of the current and help you stay on your feet the suspicions faded from his eyes seeing that I did not try and force my idea and with some effort, I helped him a crossed win er did we sat on the side of the bank for a bit to take a breath he looked over to me and said O shit I did not introduce my self my name is Roran Wheat he held out his hand with a smile I shock it saying my name it Hunter Linfang its a pleasure Roran I let go his hand was ruff and well-worked famers hands if you don't mind me asking Roran can I ask you a few questions he laughed and nodded ay you can you just did I smiled at his words well can you tell me ware the fuck I am at he looked a lite shocked but said well we are in the middle of the empire but that does not mean anything but that's not what you're asking the town over there is called dark wood cuz of the dark woods west of the city people say the dark woods are cursed you see lad my farm is closs to there and we don't have any problems you see that westorn mountain he pointed to the left mountain with was on the west side its part of the woods and as for the people we care mostly all human but we got one of your kind here she is the black smith and my wife I grind evilly O so that's how you know dricanic I said he smiled and said yep but I could tell he was lying but I did not press him for the truth if he did not want to tell me thin that's fine she is not your scale color he said with a cheeky grin she is a blue scaled he said I smiled with shock and I said jokingly O I have heard they are hard to mate with you must have done something to get her heart either that or your just vary interesting be smiled but did say witch was true so I said your sun he is a half scaled right win we started to talk about his sun his eyes got a little angry yea the little shit is about your age and he is a little shit head he complains about everything but say Y are you alone Hunter ware are your parents my eyes went dark but I did not get angry with him I side they are with the ancestors witch is a fancy way to they are dead Roran stopped smiling and looked own into the water and said I am sorry lad I shrugged it's not your fault Roran but we should head into town to deliver your goods and so I can look for a place to stay I got up hand helped Roran to his feat yea your right don't want to get my ass kicked my wife he throw the bag back onto his back with some effort, I was going to help but he waved his hand saying I ant that old yet lad I smiled and we walked to the road and started to the town I could see the town had no walls or defenses I could see one or two gaurds smoke was coming out of many houses and I could hear the sound of metol getting hit people was moving around there was about 25 structures some houses some shops one a barre and the rest who knows Roron smiled seeing the town well Hunter lets move I nodded to him.
