Chapter 31: A new era
Caitlyn's POV:
The capital city, PiltOver, Shurima continent.
Caitlyn, who couldn't sleep in her bedroom, kept tossing and turning on her bed.
'Ahhhhh! Stop. Thinking. About. Him.' She doesn't know why, but the images of Jayce kept popping up in her mind. THEY WON'T GO AWAY!
Her feelings are complicated, though she doesn't know the feeling of love, she felt her heart subconsciously beat faster than normal. After all, Jayce is young, brave, heroic, and handsome, a deadly combo for a young maiden like her.
'Is this love?' She buried herself under the blanket, steam seems to come out of her ears. Although Caitlyn acted cold and aloof most of the time, it's all because she got disgusted with those "Young Masters" who would flirt with her every time, she still yearns for true love, her true love.
'But I don't know...' Again, she tossed around her huge bed.
'I've decided! I want to learn Arcane!'
She got out of the bed and ran outside the room, heading toward her parents' room.
"Ahhh! Stop it, Caitlyn is next door!"
"Shhhh, just keep your voice down, it's late, after all, she's probably asleep by now, hehehe."
"Mhm!"
Caitlyn, who is outside their room, heard their "conversation" but didn't think much of it, she pushed the door open.
"MOM! DAD!" She found her parents hugging each other, while under the blanket, sweat covering their forehead, as they looked at her in horror!
"What are you doing?" She tilted her head and asked. She saw her parents hug each other a lot of times, but isn't it just hugging, why are they so sweaty!?
"Hahaha, Caitlyn, honey, what are you doing here? It's so late" Tobias rubbed his head awkwardly, buying time for his wife to put her bra on!
"I couldn't sleep. Dad, I want to see Jayce. Can I?" Caitlyn demanded while using her secret technique, the puppy eyes! Tobias, who wanted to reject at first, frozed up, THIS TECHNIQUE AGAIN!
"Ask your mother, I'm fine with whatever." In front of his precious daughter's puppy eyes, he can't bring himself to reject her! Otherwise, she won't talk to him for months, how could he take it!!? So, as a shrewd merchant, he cleverly pushed the responsibility to the mother.
"You...you...TRAITOR." He could hear his wife curse at him while her menacing gaze seemed to bore a hole through his back. He's fuck!
"Mom, can I!?" Her shiny bright sapphire eyes pleadingly looking at her mom.
'sigh' just like her husband; she has no defense against such attacks! How could she reject her precious daughter's request?
"You can go over, but you'll must let a guard escort you, otherwise you'll be staying home, young lady." She relented.
"MHM! I promised!" With that Caitlyn ran out of the room, leaving the sweat-dripping Tobias and his angry dragoness behind!
"Hehe, honey, since Caitlyn is gone, how about we-..." Tobias said awkwardly, trying to change the subject, but it didn't seem to works.
"HMMP! You go outside, sleep by yourself!" She threw a pillow directly at his face.
"WHAT? How is that fair!? I was only trying to help!" Tobias pleadingly looks at his wife.
"GET OUT! You're not allowed to touch me for the next 3 months, HMMP!" She huffed and threw another pillow at him. Tucked herself in the blanket, ignoring the pitiful Tobias.
Tobias could only helplessly sigh; he had truly fucked up! When had he, the number 1 merchant, suffered like this? Only his tigress wife could make him suffer a loss!
'Couch for the next 3 months, fuck me!'

Caitlyn, who didn't know that she caused a rift between her parents, is happily skipping toward the building across from her estate.
Poppy and Soraka had noticed her and allowed her to pass through the illusion array that had caused the people who followed Jayce to be lost. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to get near the building.
*Knock knock*
"Who's there?" A voice came from behind the door.
"It's me!"
"'It's me' Who?"
"Mua! Stop teasing me Mrs. Talis!" Caitlyn pouted. After the incident of the void beast, Caitlyn had befriended Ximena; under Caitlyn's care and concerns during her stay in the hospital, the young mother had gotten fond of the little thing, if Jayce get older, she might even propose marriage to the Kiramman!
"Hehe, look who it is. Are you here to visit me, love? Or your boyfriend?" Ximena opens the door and teases the little girl.
Caitlyn blushes red but didn't deny, this was her goal after all! She turned around and shooed her bodyguards away
"You guys can head home, I'm fine now." She then runs toward Ximena and tightly embraces her, pressing her head against Ximena's stomach.
"I miss you, Mrs. Talis"
"I miss you too, sweetheart." Ximena knelt and caressed her head.
"Let's go inside, it's a little chilly out here." Ximena winked at her, closes the door.
The moment the door closes, Caitlyn felt her surroundings change. The house structure and furniture disappeared, replaced by rocky mountains and empty sand fields.
"What...What happened? Where are we?" Seeing the scene that magically appeared, Caitlyn got scared and held the helm of Ximena's dress tightly.
"Don't worry honey, the heroes used Arcane Power to magically bring us here."
'ARCANE!' Hearing from Ximena, her eyes lit up.
"Erm... Mrs. Talis, do you think I can learn Arcane too?" Caitlyn blushes and asks Ximena. Asking favors doesn't fit with her personality; she grew up as an aristocrat and was taught by her parents to not rely on the favors of others, but now she wants to learn Arcane so badly, she couldn't help but ask.
"Erm... I don't know much about Arcane, as I'm not one myself, I'll help you ask Jayce or the heroes and see if they agree."
"Mhm! Thank you, Mrs. Talis," She blushes and hugged the woman once more.
"Now, let us head to that mansion and rest, it's late after all. It's not good for a young lady like you to stay up late, you know?" Ximena softly pinches Caitlyn's soft cheeks.
"Mua! You're bulling me again!" Although she said that, her heart felt warm, she considered Ximena like her second family!
The duo-paired walk toward the mansion, not noticing the "Heroes" floating behind them.
"That girl got potential, although she looks afraid with the teleportation, she held her sharp gaze and stayed alert, like a true marksman!" Poppy remarked. She had felt something special in Caitlyn the first time they met, but she didn't put too much thought into it. Now that she could closely observe her, she felt the ordinary girl didn't seem ordinary after all.
"Yeah, we should try and recruit her. We need more fresh blood in the organization. After all, this is just the calm before the storm, the disaster is heading our way, I can feel it." Soraka spoke softly, she could hear it, the mother's core is trembling, she doesn't know what it meant, whether good or bad, but it was a signal, a signal for the new era!
