Chapter 2: WONDER WOMAN
Jack and I went on steady for the first three years. He never changed from being the sweet guy he was to me. My best friend Becca,was happy I found a boyfriend, while she was struggling about confessing to her long time crush Bryan.
Bryan was a very handsome guy,he was studying medicine just like my best friend Becca. Bryan dressed like a popstar and not like the regular medicine student you see everyday looking more kept and always on a corporate wear. He was crushed on by ladies in his department including Becca.
She never stopped talking about Bryan when we were alone in our dorm about how handsome he was, the number of girls crushing on him in their class, how he dressed, his attractive smile an all. Sometimes when my friend blabber about Bryan I would just tell her to confess to him already rather than dying in silence, but she would never do so. Have never seen Becca so timid when it comes to Bryan but she was brave when rejecting other guys. Becca is something else.
It was so shocking that after graduation,Bryan was the first to ask Becca out on a date. He told her he had always crushed on her but didn't have the courage to confess to her. Little did he know Becca felt same way. It wasn't long before they got married. I couldn't be more happy for my best friend that i already wished they would have a baby soon who looked so much like them. They both look stunning, Becca's eyes are ocean blue, fair skinned, dark brown hair she always liked tinted white, she's averaged height and a little bit skinny.
Bryan on the other hand has deep blue eyes,dark hair,light skinned and a little broad with muscles, he's quite charming as well. If Becca gives birth to a son he's going to be a "lady killer" and if its a girl she would be a beauty...
After graduation, Jack got an immediate employment in a company in England with his Dad's connection.
At first he never wanted to leave, he wanted to be here with me in L.A, but I objected, I can't be too selfish to let him stay when he could be out there fulfilling his dream.
He always told me he wanted to be an engineer in a good company so this was his chance.
I know him being far away from me might affect our relationship but we could walk that out, it was just a matter of trust and understanding.
"Jack,I want you to make us proud, i mean your parents and I. you should go ahead and pursue your dreams just as I plan on pursuing mine,our love will grow no matter where we might find ourselves, we just have to keep communicating. Those are the words I said to Jack before he left for England.
We agreed to always be together come every Christmas and that was how we managed to keep the relationship going. We sometimes talk to the middle of the night on the phone.
We tried our best to communicate. Though sometimes I wouldn't hear from Jack for days, but it was no bother, for I understood his work, and I trusted him to a great length.
My first day at work wasn't really as I expected it to be. About ten of us were employed for the job,the secretary to the CEO of wonder woman took us on a tour around the company, she showed us different offices and introduced us to the managers of different departments. This company was bigger than I imagined it will be.
I found out only then that they produced their own brand of makeup and tools.
"This woman must be filthy rich!", I said to myself.
We walked for more than an hour that day, I began feeling excruciating pains from the back of my legs for I was putting on heels.
" Your foot is bleeding, you might want to take of your shoes".Said a very young lady with a tiny voice.
" Oh my God...thank you so much, i never realized i was bleeding, by the way am Mona", i said stretching forth my hands for a handshake which was enclosed by her tiny looking hands.
"I'm Sarah, nice to meet you".
This Sarah is quite attractive though she's kind of timid looking with glasses that is twice the size of her face giving her nerdy look.
She looks very young I guess she might be 19 or 20 at most.
"Here take this,I always carry bandages with me you know you never can tell when you might be met by an accident.
Yea right,that is so...nerdy. Who in the world carries bandages around expecting to be met by an accident. But she's kinda cute.
"Thank you very much Sarah, you look very young I must say".
"Yea am Eighteen, done with highschool though,Makeup is something i loved to do, so when heard the information that Wonder Woman was hiring i decided to give it a try. Who would have thought I would be picked, I still feel like am dreaming as of this moment". She smiled happily.
yea...this is like a dream, never knew I would find Someone who was as happy as I am to be employed in " Wonder Woman".
After all introductions were made, we were each assigned to work with the old employees as MUA that is Make-up Assistant. We were told we would work under them, while learning from them too. A year later we would be allowed to do the makeup of a client on our own.
According to the rules, the clients to which we would be doing their Makeups opinion is the criteria to which you will be judged. If they like your work, you will be automatically retained as a permanent worker, but if they give a bad review about you, then you would be told to leave for good.
I was assigned to Mrs Charlotte Tristan, she's a very fine lady in her mid 30's. She told me she believed I was going to be employed as a permanent worker because she saw my work during my first interview.
Working With Mrs Charlotte was something magical, she is very nice and understanding. Whenever we go out for a job, I would observe the use of every make-up tool used on the face.
When I get home, I watch YouTube videos to further enhance my skills. I didn't get into Wonder woman only to leave because I couldn't do a good job, though I pray everyday for my very customer to like my work for that was the only way I could secure a permanent job,not just because am good at what I do.
Sarah became my office friend, we sometimes practice together, she was nerdy sometimes but she's also a very good friend. Her supervisor as a male, who's always harsh on her.
Sometimes she would cry to me telling me of how he was making life a living hell for her. Poor thing, her supervisor must be so blind to see what a sweet girl she really is.
