Chapter 62: 60: Visiting Someone

After leaving Jiwoo's house, Shinji went on his way to the Shinhwa Building.
He was planning on visiting Jiyoung and Thaddeus. Ever since Jisuk arrived from the Academy, Jiyoung had been taking Thaddeus to the Shinhwa Building more frequently.
Arriving in the building, the teen could see that everyone was tense.
He was curious, so he asked Jiyoung's unofficial Secretary. "Hey, Soomin, what's going on?"
"Ah, Shinji! Erm, someone from the World's Top 100 suddenly arrived, demanding to go see the Chairwoman," she answered anxiously.
"Who is it?" Shinji questioned, to which she answered, "The Head of the Wenzel Family."
[A/N: No need to worry if you folks don't recognize the name. This character is an Original one.]
The raven-haired teen immediately rushed to Jiyoung's Office, interested in the person who just barged in.
The Family must be a weak one since he had never heard of it before. Hell, he hasn't even met someone from the "Wenzel Family" in the WAA.
On his way there, he bumped into a serious Inhyuk.
"Why so serious, Inhyuk?" Shinji asked, a grin slowly forming on his face.
"Now's not the time, Shinji. If you haven't heard already, a powerful person showed up." the adult said in a serious manner. He then continued, disdain clear in his voice, "Even acting as if he owned the place."
...
Reaching the Chairwoman's Office, Inhyuk knocked.
Jiyoung answered, "Please, come back la-" but a voice cut her off, "Oh, we don't mind observers. Let them come in."
Inhyuk opened the door, and they saw three people sitting on some chairs. Jiyoung and a smug-faced man with spiky black hair. Right beside the man was almost identical to him, albeit younger and somehow looked much more arrogant. They both wore, what normal people would consider outlandish.
[A/N: I envisioned their look to be similar to Shogo Tagushi from That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime.]
Shinji looked around the room, but he couldn't find Thaddeus. The look that the visitors had didn't help his mood.
"Now, where were we? Right, I have heard something very interesting... Is it true that you've one against a Criminal in the World's Top 100?" the smug adult said, not even taking a glance at Inhyuk and Shinji.
"It is, Sir Brigham," Jiyoung answered respectfully.
"That's great news. To be honest, I have never expected an unimpressive country such as this to produce an Awakened One capable of beating someone in the Top 100." Brigham Wenzel said, the arrogance in his voice never left.
'This is for Jiyoung. Don't be angry...' the fuming teen thought, having little effect on his rising anger levels.
The uninvited guest then pointed to the young man beside him, saying, "This is my son, Lukas, and with your strength and beauty, you're quite worthy to be his bride."
Hearing that sentence, coupled with Lukas' lustful eyes, Shinji lost control of his anger.
The temperature in the room suddenly dropped, alerting the people inside.
"That would be impossible, you ba- Ahem- Sir Wenzel." Shinji voiced out, calming himself down.
"Oh? And why is that?" Lukas was the one who asked.
"Because she's dating me."
The arrogant Young Master stood up, saying, "Ah, but that doesn't matter. Jiyoung Yoo will still become my bride, because, in the end, great Awakened Ones like us are bound to be with each other."
"What kind of-"
"You are not, by all means, not fit to be with her. Your ability, background, and everything else about you are simply lacking." Lukas butted in.
"Says who?" Shinji asked in a calm manner, but his voice sounded angry.
Lukas sighed, "It's simply the truth, but I expected as much from a buffoon."
"Well, I'll f*cking shove that "truth" so far down your throat that it'll meet with the giant stick up your ass." the raven-haired teen said challengingly.
"What?!" the arrogant young man asked increduously.
"Didn't understand that? Who's the buffoon now?" Shinji added, not backing down, which made Jiyoung say, "Shinji, please stop this."
"Lukas." Brigham voiced out, to which the arrogant young man said, "Don't worry, father. I'll just put this arrogant imbecile in his place."
"Arrogant imbecile? Hi pot, meet kettle!"
But, just then, they heard a knock on the door, breaking the tension between Lukas and Shinji.
"Chairwoman, Thaddeus is back from his walk." a voice said outside.
"A-ah, please let him come in," Jiyoung answered, still addled from what happened a second ago. After hearing the confirmation, the voice outside let a German Shepherd come inside the room.
Hearing Thaddeus' name and seeing him calmed Shinji down, but he still could not let the insults go, so...
"Hey, fight me in a week's time. All the things you said earlier, I'll prove them all wrong," he said to the father-and-son.
"Hmph, why would I accept-"
"Hah! Of course, you'd say that. Why, are you scared of an injured person?" Shinji asked showing his bandages and taunting Lukas, which was his specialty.
"Fine! Don't back out at the last moment, you fool." Lukas exclaimed almost instantly.

P.S:
I think I made the new character too arrogant... Also, I know that something like this happened in the Source Material, and I'm not sure if that's alright with you all.
Even if it wasn't, I don't think I'd be able to change it. It's too much work...
Anyways, some of you may think that their appearance in the story has no use. However, I introduced them, so that I could finally make Shinji's relationship with Jiyoung official.
You'll see what I mean later on~ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
