Chapter 6: TRANSPARENT BEAUTIFUL WOMEN

Brian held back his laughter as he covered his face with a bolster. Brian quietly peeked at the strange woman from the gap that he could see. And really, Brian admits that there is nothing that looks like a ghost in the woman's figure, except for her transparent body shape.

'From any point of view, she is like an ordinary girl who looks annoyed at the moment. Whoa, what am I thinking? How can I praise the ghost that has been teasing me all day!' Brian grumbled in his heart. But he still enjoys peeking at her from the slit of the bolster that covers his face.

Gradually Brian felt sleepy with waving eyes and slowly closing.

Brian's ears were buzzing. There was the faint sound of someone calling near his ear, but instead of calling his name, Brian ignored the call.

But over time the sound grew louder and louder, and it forced him to open his eyes.

Brian saw the face of the strange woman from last night right in front of his face. The woman's head was seen tilting downwards towards Brian and made her long hair fall.

"Beautiful!" one honest word escaped Brian's mouth causing the woman to widen her eyes, and move her face away from its original position.

"Don't you want the Fajr Prayer?" she asked Brian.

The questioning sentence of the strange woman forced Brian's eyes to glance sharply.

'What the hell is She? Why do ghosts seem to even ask me about worship? Am I still dreaming?' Brian wondered in his mind. But Brian still wanted to be quiet.

He wakes up lazily. And when Brian glanced at the clock on the wall, it was almost half-past seven in the morning, Brian immediately jumped out of bed.

Brian went straight to the bathroom for ablution and immediately performed his Fajr prayer.

And when Brian started his worship, out of the corner of his eye, he could catch the image of this strange woman watching him pray.

'That's weird, isn't it? Instead of being hot next to me, She just sits relaxed like that. Makes me can't just concentrate!' Brian grumbled to himself, 'I'm sorry, God. I'm not diligent in worshiping you,' he continued.

After finishing the prayer and folding his sarong and prayer rug, Brian sat on the edge of his bed facing a strange woman who was also sitting on the sofa relaxing.

"You confused me. I can't believe some ghosts are as relaxed as you when they are around people who are worshiping. You were the one who woke me up earlier." Brian said confused, "What are you actually? You're a ghost, right?" he continued asking.

"Didn't I tell you I'm not a ghost?" replied the woman with another question, "I saw you praying last night, so I thought you would also perform the Fajr prayer, but the time was almost up, so I woke you up," she continued explaining.

'Is there a ghost-like you, huh? She confused me!' Brian muttered, but inside he was also a little irritated at the strange woman's attitude when she spoke.

But after the strange woman spoke again, Brian withdrew the sweet notion of the woman in front of him.

"Since it is still very early, quickly pack your things and leave this room!" the woman said to Brian.

"Why are you still discussing that? I already told you, I'm not leaving here. If you want, you just go!" Brian replied annoyed, "It's still early, please don't force me to be rude to you!" continued Brian said sarcastically.

"You think I like arguing with someone? I've also lowered my ego to have a nice talk with you, but you're responding to me with that attitude of yours! Go before my patience runs out!" the woman replied to Brian's words angrily.

"Alright, let's just take the middle ground! We only share a room as long as I live in this place. I only rented this place for three months. And when I've got a house to live in from the company, I will leave your place! How? Are you satisfied? Otherwise, that's no problem for me either!" said Brian firmly.

"I can't accept your decision. Even though it's only been three months, I'm uncomfortable if someone else occupies this room. You will also be at a disadvantage if you still insist on staying here!" the strange woman said to Brian.

"What's the loss? I don't mind if you just tease me by peeking at what's under my towel while I'm sleeping!" Brian said shamelessly.

"You are so reckless! It wasn't me who did such a cheap thing. Maybe Miss K bothered you. After all, why am I looking at that little boneless thing of yours? Damn!" the woman grumbled with a frown on her face.

"Miss K? What do you mean Kuntilanak?" Brian asked in disbelief, "You don't have to make up stories like that. If it's you who want to peek at my tough bird, I don't mind either. I'm willing, hahaha!" Brian replied, increasingly shamelessly teasing the woman.

It was so satisfying to see the woman's expression now. With a sullen innocent face, it made Brian's eyes even more attractive, and make him want to annoy her even more.

'Actually, who is a ghost and who is a human? Why did I even bother her? This is so funny!' Brian muttered, laughing inwardly.

"I already told you. It's up to you to believe it or not. I want to go!" said the woman annoyed.

Like the wind, she went through the wall leaving Brian alone in the room.

"If my roommate is that pretty like her, even if it's a ghost, I don't mind at all!" Brian muttered as the thought of the strange woman made him act ridiculous.

"Ahh, Mom… I guess being away from home and living independently isn't so bad for me!" Brian continued as he stretched his body again on the bed.

"Good morning, Bro?" Brian greeted Fery who was eating his breakfast. Again Brian received a confused look from Fery. But Brian tried to ignore it so as not to disturb his current morning spirit.

Brian continued down the street in the area around the building where he lived. He enjoys the cool and fresh morning air, even it seems cold, very different from his hometown, Jakarta.

From the top of the building, to be precise on the balcony of the apartment that Brian rented.

"Did you see him? He was so shiny. I don't know if from your point of view, hihihi!" said the woman whose appearance was not human.

"It's so shining that you don't dare bother him for too long, do you? I'm also confused, what should I do to expel him?" answered the strange woman who had previously argued with Brian.

"Are you sure you want to kick him out? Don't you want to try your luck? The man was different from many of the people who rented our room. Who knew he could help you, hihihi!" replied the ghost woman next to her without leaving a chuckle at the end of her sentence.

The transparent woman fell silent and lowered her head.

"I'm not sure, although I see that the man seems to be a good person and also diligent in worship. Even if he can help me, but will he help me?" said the transparent woman who sounded pessimistic.

"Do what you want. I'm fine if you leave or not from here, hihihi," the ghost woman said curtly as if she didn't want to know or care about the woman beside her. She flew away and a second later disappeared with her giggling laughter that also faded away.

"Of course, it makes no difference to you. We are different," muttered the transparent woman who still felt at home sitting on the balcony of the apartment room that Brian had rented.

With her legs swinging while smiling sadly, the woman's eyes continued to focus on the figure of Brian who walked out of the apartment building area.

"Could you possibly be able to help me, when I was desperately waiting for that hope to come to me?" she muttered without taking her eyes off Brian who was shining in her eyes.

"Miss K just glares at you and can only approach you when you sleep. Maybe it's because I'm in this state that what I see is the same as what Miss K sees in you."

"She's right. You shine."

The translucent woman pursed her lips into a smile as she watched Brian from her position. And when Brian's figure was no longer visible in her view, she turned her face to look at the cloudy morning sky.

'Lord, do you still allow me to return to the way I used to be? Or should I stay in my form like this?'

'Where exactly did I go wrong that I have to accept this kind of punishment?'

The woman cried with a sad smile while looking up at the limitless sky.
