Chapter 635: Being an Adventurer Once More
"Yuki… you know I'm also the same. I think I'm even worse than the two of you, even when we were still not together, I was always insecure about myself. I'm afraid that someday someone could actually win your heart before me, so I was desperate, that is why I'm always clingy to you even though you were clearly irritated by it, by I was desperate." Fumiko said as she slid into the bed.
"Then when you suddenly said that you already have someone in your heart… my whole world shattered. From that moment, desperation took over my whole body because there was something inside me that said that if I didn't take this chance, I would never have the chance again. That is why I said that I was fine even if I'm just your concubine." Fumiko said as she began to remember what happened on that day.
She couldn't help but feel all those emotions again, desperation, sadness, and depression. All of those emotions surged through her heart, but when she opened her eyes and saw the two women looking at her with concerned eyes, those feelings immediately faded away.
"I guess all of us are all the same, huh? We are all insecure about ourselves." Fumiko chuckled lightly and her light laughter filled the room and brought down the dreadful silence in the room before replacing it with a more cheerful aura.
"Yeah… I guess the three of us really have something in common." After a long silence, Yuki opened her mouth as she as she then stood up after collecting her emotions. She began to think whether she had this kind of emotion surge in her heart after experiencing hell when she turned 16.
But she just buried all those thoughts in her head as she patted Kurokami and Fumiko's heads before giving the two a kiss on the forehead. Deep inside she was very thankful and very much grateful that she had this kind of partner in her life because if she didn't, she wouldn't even think about what kind of life she would have. But if she were to think, it would probably be all dull and boring for her.
Thinking about her life when she was all alone, it was the darkest time of her life where she wouldn't even want to go back ever again after leaving that dark world. Even she herself knows that she has changed, just like what Fumiko had said at her homecoming Dinner, she has gotten soft. She is not so cold anymore and all of that is because of the people that she met in this world, those people changed her so much, whether it was for the better or not, it was still early for Yuki to say.
"I'll leave for now… the two of you can rest. Also… thank you and I love you both." Yuki said after kissing the two on their forehead before finally leaving the room leaving the two with smiles hanging down on their faces. All of them felt relieved as if the rock that had been weighing down their heart for so long had finally been lifted after their talk.
As Yuki left the two, she made her way back down and saw Skadi who was sitting quietly in the lounge area and seemed to be cultivating in peace. But as soon as she got near her, she opened her eyes and looked at her straight in the eyes.
"I'm not gonna apologize for what I said, my words might have hurt you, but I don't care. Because I don't think you remember, but I don't have really accepted you as my granddaughter-in-law just yet." Skadi said calmly as she stood up from the couch before continuing.
"If I were to really pick one, it would be the Lady that I mentioned, but who knows, that might change." Skadi finally looked at Yuki with arrogance in her eyes, but when she saw the cold and indifferent look on Yuki's face, she felt that something was wrong.
"Isn't that quite interesting… I also think the same, I don't see you as my in-law." Yuki just smiled as she left her house to attend to some unfinished business.
After leaving with those words, Skadi was absolutely speechless. But the more she learns about Yuki, the more intrigued she is about her, not only is she very powerful and smart, but she is also the type of person who would talk trash about anyone no matter who they are. She likes her even more because of that because she somehow sees herself in her, but unlike Yuki, she seems more kind to other people. She just doesn't outright talk trash about anyone.
"That girl… I just now really wonder, who she is in her past life. She is definitely a reincarnator, or maybe she died and possessed that body. But either way… I'm really curious to know who that person is, but if she is from the other Heavens, then the chances of me knowing her are very slim." Skadi thought to herself, but she just shook her head and didn't think about it anymore, and just continued cultivating once more.
"Mercenary Group… I wonder if that is the best one to establish for now. A Mercenary Group is a bit of a glass cannon though. One mistake can shatter the whole group." Yuki thought to herself as she began to fly towards the Capital to set her plans in motion.
She was thinking of doing the same thing that she did back in the Mystic Dragon Heaven, but this time she isn't going to waste some time getting money as she already has tons of them in her bag. What she just needs to do is to build a name for herself and the name that she is building for herself is not enough to make her famous or even have a standing in this world.
There was a disadvantage for her if she went into the underworld of Nightingale because everything there was illegal. She won't accomplish anything if she goes into it, but being the Leader of a Mercenary Group is going to be hard because first, it is the hardest thing to do in a Cultivation World as almost every Group, Sect, Family, or just any Party in the Immortal Realm wouldn't use a Mercenary Group for anything other than if they need some little things, such as being a guard.
But it was still an option for her to do since she could just show people how strong her Mercenary Group would be, but the downside to it was that it was going to take a very long time. Time isn't even her main concern, she was more concerned that once she set up the Mercenary Group, she might be called to do something illegal which would only result in a backlash for her since she wouldn't get any rewards whatsoever.
Of course, being a Mercenary Group Leader isn't just her option, she can still go the Adventurer route as they also have an Adventurer Guild here, but it would also be time-consuming for her. Even if she starts at the highest Rank, there would be too little Quest for her to do since, at that point, she is at the same level as a Royal Captain.
"Wait… now that I think about it… the only reason that there isn't too much SSS or even SSS Class Quest in Mystic Dragon Heaven is because the people there are much more tamed than the Vampires here. Plus, it's a lower-tier heaven, I'll check out the Adventurer Guild just to be sure. If there are at least 5 SS Class Quests, then I'll just be an Adventurer again." Yuki said as she put the Black Lightning at the highest speed.
