Chapter 19: Route 11
"Char!"
Turning back to the newly evolved Flying lizard, Dust raised an eyebrow. He didn't want to return back in the Pokeball, and he kept bugging him ever since they got on Route 11.
"What is it Zuko?"
The giant dragon used its claw to tap his backpack, causing even more confusion for his trainer.
Shrugging, he took it off and opened it, looking inside. There was nothing...The mega stones...
Oh, Right the mega stones.
Taking them out, he held out the three of them to Charizard. The fire type looked at the three of them and grabbed one of them, looking at it with something akin to awe.
"...So that's a Charizardite, probably a Y..."
"..."
"...Want to mega evolve?"
"Zard?"

"Okay! Ready when you are, Tobi and Yuki will restrain you if you go out of control! So don't worry!"
With a nod to his trainer, Charizard closed his eyes, Concentrating on the stone in his hand.
Dust watched from a distance with his Greninja and Gardevoir next to him, ready to protect him at a moment's notice.
Covering his eyes from the bright light Charizard was emitting, he watched tendrils of light that were flailing wildly in the air. Remembering how the mega evolution worked with a Keystone, He tried something very dumb and probably suicidal.
Reaching out with his aura, He connected himself with Charizard.
The Pain hit fast. The Pain hit hard. It hit like a damn truck.
Releasing a bloodcurdling scream, He fell to his knees, clutching at his chest, suddenly feeling like his blood was boiling. It was hot.
So, Vary, Hot!
His conscience started slipping, He couldn't fight it. Faintly, he heard Greninjas cry before promptly passing out.

[-er! Master!]
Sitting up suddenly, he startled Gardevoir Greninja and a slightly different looking Charizard.
"What happened?"
He questioned before even coming to his senses, His head hurt like hell, he felt like throwing up and felt like he could sleep for the next six days.
[You succeeded, However, Zuko said that he didn't think it would work until you connected your Aura with the tendrils of light. It looks like you took on some of the burden.]
Nodding absently, he tried to focus his aura on his head to numb the pain. Hopefully, it would get easier.
Grabbing Greninjas's offered hand, he stood up on shaky legs and looked at Charizard. fins coming from his wrists and ending at the elbows, and an extra spike on his head and larger wings with small spikes along the tail. His body was slimmer as well.
"Charizard~!"
Smirking slightly at the call, He stabilized himself and brushed off his pants. Recalling the sensation of mega evolving, he looked over to Greninja with a calculating look.
Hed needs to run some experiments...

Okay...He needed Rookidee to evolve as soon as possible, Riding on a Charizard was not fun. At any moment he could fall off. However, he can't deny the usefulness of flying, He can speedrun gyms now. Who needs adventures?
They were landing at the entrance of Vermillion city. As soon as they reached the ground, he recalled Charizard in the Pokeball.
It was time to curvestomp an electric type gym...In a week... damn it.
(...So, if he's not here that means a family matter or he's dealing with the local Mafia AKA Team rocket.)
With a sigh, dust turned towards the Pokemon cen-
"Ninja."
Pausing in his steps, he turned his head towards his shadow.
"...ill uh... do that later?"
"Ninja! Greninja!"
"Jeez fine."
He changed his direction towards the Trainer shop.

"Zuko, work on your dragon claw. Yuki, work on using Future sight. Odin, show the ropes to Iroh. Anubis go with Tobi and, Tobi work on Extrasensory. Simba, Rookidee, Wimpod with me."
Things were going great, This week he would train up his team, make them stronger and be ready for anything that military Sergeant ripoff throws at him.
"Alright, Wimpod, I want you to use Aqua jet repeatedly, try to fire it off faster and faster.
Rookidee try learning drill peck while taking a dive from high in the air and Simba we will work on Ice fang, let's go!"
That was their training routine for the first five days...
On day six, a roar was heard that shook him to his very core. Recalling his team, he Got on Charizards back.
Reaching high aptitude, He Spotted What the source of the roar was. It was a Gyrados... Charging a Hyper beam...
(Sunovabitch!)
"Zuko! Use Dragons breath, aim it at the Hyperbeam."
Opening his mouth, Charizard shoots a blue blast toward the Gyrados. Noticing this, it tilts its head to the side and the Dragon's breath only managed to hit its side of the head, due to this, it missed the Hyperbeam which shot to the side, hitting a forest and annihilating every pokemon or Human that was in its way.
(Well... I need to teach some of my team that...)
The water type looks over at him with an enraged look as electricity dances on its crown...
Well isn't that swell?
