Chapter 24: When You Get Sick
You don't know how you ended up with the flu, but you got it. It could take several days for you to be completely better, but in the meantime, at least you don't have to do much since Darkness has been taking care of you and providing you with everything you need.
Like right now, while you're in bed, you're eating your favorite lunch. You're by yourself for now while Darkness is getting something else for you. He even made you promise him that you wouldn't get out of bed unless you had to use the bathroom, since he wants you to get better as soon as possible. Then the bedroom door opens, and Darkness comes in holding a bowl of your favorite soup.

Darkness: How are you feeling love?
Y/n: Honestly, I still feel weak. But at least the fever's gone down a bit.
Darkness: I hope this will make you feel better. It's a special soup I had the chefs prepare. It should help with your symptoms. Here, allow me to feed you.

He helps you sit up more before taking away the plates and putting them on the nightstand. He then sits by your bedside and prepares a spoonful of soup.

Y/n: It's alright, I can feed myself. I know you have a meeting today with a War Lord and it's important for you to go.
Darkness: It can wait, here.

He then feeds you spoonful of soup and even wipes your mouth with a napkin he has in his other hand.

Y/n: You sure? I don't want him to change his mind about forming an alliance with you. Even if it's only temporary.
Darkness: He knows he won't be able to fight back against the wrath army without me. And besides, if he were to leave, then it'll be alright. Caring for you is more important than any meeting I have.

His sweet words cause you to blush as you smile. Believe it or not, you're still getting used to his romantic and sweet words. It's somewhat hard not to think it's cheesy at times, but when you allow yourself to completely cave in to his words, you stop seeing them as just cheesy words. Because his actions are what make you know that he is telling the truth, not just his words. You just allow yourself to relax while he continues to feed you the soup until it was all gone.

Darkness: Would you like more?
Y/n: No thank you. (Yawn) I think I'm going to take a nap. That soup really did help, I think my fever's going away.
Darkness: Good, rest now.

He covers you with the blanket as you rest your head against the pillow.

Y/n: Hm, maybe when I wake up you could get some more? The soup was also delicious.
Darkness: Of course.

It makes you feel good when he takes care of you in such a loving and gentle manner. It didn't matter if you were healthy or not, he would take special care of you as if you were a literal queen. He kisses your cheek, making sure that you're comfortable before taking the plates with him as he leaves the bedroom.
His top chef is there in the hallway waiting for Darkness. Darkness hands him the plates and bowl informing him to keep the soup warm so that when you wake up, he can bring you another bowl. While the chef heads back into the kitchen carrying the dishes, Darkness heads for his office for his meeting. He meant those words that you're more important than any meeting he has. So, when he comes back from his meeting, he'll bring you another bowl of soup and wait for you to wake up so you can eat again.
