Chapter 21: Chapter 21

(A/N: Sorry for the massive delay. Please read the A/N at the end of the chapter.)

Extreme Intelligence, Memory, Learning Capacity, Magic Sensitivity, Magic Control, Adaptable Body were a few of the perks I could identify in my soul.

There were a few more that I couldn't identify, but that didn't bother me as much as I thought it should. Perhaps there were a few black boxes affecting my mental and emotional state as well, and the expected revulsion and anger didn't seem to be coming to me at that revelation leading me to believe that it too was the work of the black boxes.

I suppose there was a reason why I was given these 'gifts' and moved to another world but since I had no idea what that reason was, I saw no reason to spend much time on that. The thought that my strategy to ignore my newfound discoveries could be part of the black boxes did enter my mind, but, again, I didn't or couldn't change my mind. At this point, I would have had an existential crisis if I could actually bring forth the required emotions.

Or it could be that my mind wasn't as restricted as I was thinking it was, and that all this is the default state of my mind. I didn't actually know what was exactly the real me since I had very specific memories from my past life, like the knowledge of what would happen in the HP world, or all those books I read, but if I tried to remember the faces of my parents or friends or even surroundings, things got blurry and eventually turned into darkness.

As I was lying on the bed waiting for my true Hogwarts experience to commence tomorrow, one particular black box did strike me especially. It was the one containing something extremely similar to my Integrator Spell, and for some reason I got the feeling that it was one of the more important 'gifts' I had gotten. Well, I suppose I would get answers someday so there's not much point to useless pondering. Thinking so, I drifted off to sleep, but not without activating my Second Mind at full force. It was operating at less than optimal levels for the time being and I figured it would be prudent to change that.

(Scene Break)

I woke up feeling refreshed and used magic to get ready in the fraction of time it would have taken had I chosen the old-fashioned way. Instead of wearing a suit like last time, I opted for a white shirt and a pair of black trousers, which while expensive, looked casual as well. Activating my Second Mind had worked wonders as I knew it would and my knowledge had improved by leaps and bounds and was still increasing and would continue to increase.

I walked out of the Leaky Cauldron through the muggle exit and walked towards the nearest bus stop, which was a walk long enough for me to digest my breakfast. This time I had opted for taking the bus instead of calling in a limo as I had realised that was a pointless waste of money and a bus would be better. As the bus was cruising through the streets of Britain, I was calculating which ritual I would use regarding the old me. An all around enhancement of myself or an extreme improvement in one particular field? Choices, choices...so many options to choose from.

Lost in my thoughts, it seemed as though barely any time had passed before I had reached my destination. Walking into King's Cross Station, I pointedly ignored the black haired boy wearing old clothes that were way too big on him and the red-haired family who were helping him.

I had yet to see any major changes in the timeline so far but remembering the time-traveling escapades of my favourite speedster who wore red and gold with a lightning symbol on his chest didn't help much with my rapidly growing anxiety.

Using my occlumency skills to the fullest, I forced those thoughts down and put on a calm facade on my visage as I walked through the barrier which was the entrance to Platform 9 3/4 quarters.

The Hogwarts Express was as magnificent as I remembered it being. I quickly took a seat in an empty compartment and hoped that I wouldn't get infected by something else affecting my actions.

As I casually watched the Weasley Family leading Potter onto the platform, I was inwardly musing on what characters I would meet this time around.

I didn't have to ruminate on those thoughts any longer as I heard a knock on my door. Hmm, that ruled out a lot of the characters because I don't remember Ron or Hermione knocking.

I used magic to open the door and didn't let the surprise I was feeling inside show up on my face as I witnessed who actually was going to be my companion for the next eight or so hours.

A/N: I am really sorry for such a long delay. I didn't have the time or the mood to write for these couple of days since I had to shift to a new city and coupled with the fact that this would be the first time I would be living on my own like this, let's just say things were....hectic. As for the novel, this is the last chapter for this volume. Next volume is Re:Hogwarts, Year I.

As for whether the schedule will be followed form next week, I can't say since I don't have chapters written but I'll try to at least upload a couple of chapters. And thank you guys for all the support you have given to this novel which is barely mediocre in quality. I mean, 100k views and 350+ collections?!?!?! I am deeply honoured.

See you guys next time.
