In the ensuing hours, all they scavenged were five or six deformed bullet heads and shattered shrapnel pieces, a 50-Finnish Markka coin, and a matted copper button.

"The bullet heads are standard 7.62mm Mosin-Nagant rifle bullets, but as far as the shrapnel is concerned, it's too fragmented to make out the original shape," the two analyzed their spoils of war under the light of their vehicle upon their return.

"However, considering the thickness of this shrapnel, it should be left over from the explosion of a small-caliber shell. Given that they were attacked by 45mm cannons, these shells likely came from that armored vehicle."
