Chapter 2: Love at first sight?
"Please Dad, can you repeat yourself? I'm not sure I got it." She tried to appear as calm as possible. "You got it right, Cupcake. Now, you will take your breakfast and patiently wait for his arrival." He said smiling sweetly.
She started eating without complaining. When she was done, she decided to wait in the garden. It was her favorite part of the house. She remembered how she used to stay for hours in the garden with her mom. They even planted many trees and flowers there.
Thinking of her mother, tears started forming in her eyes which she wiped before they could roll down her cheeks. She stood up and exhaled heavily to destress her tensed self.
Jason saw her standing from his car and got down. He went near her and lightly coughed to gain her attention. She turned and saw a young handsome man, looking at her intently. 'It must be him. Please, God, save me! Save me!! I'm not ready for meeting him.' she inwardly prayed.
He took her hand and dragged her towards the central table. And as if bewitched, she followed him absent-mindedly to the table. He pulled a chair for her to sit on and she sat down while admiring his beauty. He sat down too but at the other end of the small round table.
Amber then met his gaze and got astonished. The look in his eyes is like one that can pierce through one's soul. She did not fail to notice that he was emanating a dark and powerful aura, but she kind of liked it. He was intimidating but that only added to his charisma.
His chestnut-brown eyes stared at her. He loved how innocent and pure she looked. He loved all of her, especially her peach heart-shaped lips and her aqua-blue eyes.
He decided to end the staring game and start a conversation "Hello, Amber. I'm Jason Willow, your future husband." She suddenly started thinking of where she could have heard that name, for it seemed pretty familiar.
"Mr. Willow, how do you know my name? And how did you find your way here? I mean, here in the garden." she asked narrowing her eyes. Guests did not know the way to the garden as they were always entertained in the living room.
"Firstly, you should start calling me Jason or even Honey or Baby, depends on you. And secondly, I used to come here to make business with your dad when you were abroad. So, I know this garden and all the working staff here knows me." He said with a straight face. She stared at him in disbelief, trying to figure out if he was joking. But later on, found out he was deadly serious.
"So, you are turning 22 next month, is it?" he asked in order to lighten up the awkwardness. She nodded her head and tried not to stare at his handsome face. Her eyes moved randomly, looking at anything she could lay her eyes on.
When he seemed to have noticed it, he asked calmly "Am I so ugly that you can't look at me straight in the eye?". As she didn't want to offend him, she decided to speak her mind "Not at all. The problem is that you are sinfully handsome. I mean, it's really distracting. I didn't mean to offend you but-". "Hey, it's okay. Relax, I didn't know you could speak that much. But don't bother, this body is already yours, to begin with, no need asking." he decided to butt in so as not to stress her.
His devilish smirk turned her mood from guilty to angry. Later on, she will think of a way to get revenge. She thought of trying to know more about him but he was faster than her again this time around "I heard you are working as a pediatrician in a famous and known hospital. But, why are you acting like a thief? I know that you are planning to steal my heart. If you ask in the best way, I will give it to you."
If she didn't know he was teasing her, she would have believed he was flirting with her. His face was dead serious. Her cheeks turned scarlet red. He loved seeing her blush. He thought of deepening it later, but now they had somewhere important to go to.
Jason stood up and told Amber to follow him. She saw many bodyguards in black suits standing in front of a black car. He went to the back door and led her in before entering to sit next to her. "Jason, where are you taking me to?" she asked nervously. The curiosity and the uneasiness in her eyes couldn't be hidden. He thought that she looked cute, so he smiled before replying.
"You will see. But it's far, so, you can have a long nap. I will wake you up when we will arrive." He reassured her. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep but couldn't. She thought they will be going somewhere romantic, like an amusement park or a restaurant. But then, he said their destination was far.
Amber had no experience in relationships and was afraid of what he would think of her if she told him so. In addition, she knew nothing about him except for his name and that he was her future husband. She started imagining how bad and pitiful her life would be if her husband turned out to be a drug dealer or any doing something illegal.
Amber also thought 'After this, I must not forget to call Amy, if not I'm dead meat.' Her friend hated being ignored or being kept a secret. And she finally dozed off. When Jason heard heavy breathing from her, he turned his head and saw her sleeping while leaning her head against the window.
He sighed and then took her in his arms so that she would feel more comfortable and not break her neck. Later, she woke up to find herself in strong arms. She tried to move but couldn't free herself from his arms. "Stay still," he ordered and she instantly gave up fighting. She was still sleepy.
Amber wanted to question him about his lifestyle and all the rest, but he seemed to be thinking about something important, so she gave up. She then decided to make herself comfortable in his embrace. On the other hand, the man who was supposed to be thinking about something important was busy smelling her.
It's like he will get addicted to her sweet scents. He even asked the driver to take a longer road that will take about 3 hours, only for him to smell her longer. "Love, there is still a long way to go. So, sleep again. Okay?"
He doesn't know why but he just wanted to call love. Maybe it was love at first sight he thought. He decided to just go with the flow for the moment. Whereas, Amber just closed her eyes to sleep. She wondered why he called her 'Love'. She decided to ignore it, for she didn't want to overthink and get false hopes.
