Chapter 1: 1-No one's expecting!
"Have you ever died? "
"For the third time, YES, why else would I be here!"
"Figured... Oh, I'm next! Wish me luck! "
Honestly...I hate this place, in the begginning I though it would be fun with all the afterlife and eternal paradise concept.
The issue though, is that this isn't the eternal paradise I was expecting.
In truth this is...well... nowhere.
To be exact I am in the nothingness which exists between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead.
Paradoxically with the whole 'nothingness' concept going on, there seems to be a whole Room, with capital R to emphasize its size , with seats ordered based on our death's date.
The reason for this arrangements is in the middle of said room.
There a pool, and a bunch of what I can only judge to be either automatic service attendants or magical robots.
I think so, because they keep saying and doing the same thing over and over again with no signs of being tired.
Oh! The obnoxious guy that kept asking me if I ever died just jumped into said pool, so I guess Im next.
"Name or nickname?"- the Robot-thing asked
"Prickley Pete"
"Age? "
"18"
Yeah... I died right when I reached the age of legally drinking alcohol, why? Let's just say I won't ever drink again and leave it at that...
"Cause of death? "
"I ... don't know"
Thruthfully I kind of knew, but I drank so much on that night I'm no longer sure if what I remember is actually correct or just a story I read on a manga while drunk.
"OK, everything is ready, now all you have to do is to drink this and then to jump into the pool, be WARNED though, once you go into the the water or drink the potion , not even the staff can stop its effects. "
"Finally do you wish me to explain the process or to skip it?"
"Explain, please. "
Please, because while this thing may be a robot, manners make the man...
That and the muscles on this guy/robot/thing are honestly scary.
"Very well, first, this potion will erase all the weights of your soul, such as fears, anger, jealousy, horniness, or other emotions that could cloud your mind and memories for a duration of 20 minutes making it so that only your 'pure' state can enter into that pool over there"
"During that time your soul will either ascend into the realm of the dead, where you will be lead to your selected Incarnation of after-life, with with all your memories, depending on your religion and beliefs while you where alive."
"Or if your soul has to many attachments to the realm of the living, you will stay in the pool for the duration of the potion, once the potion end, your soul will receive its emotions back, but your memory will be deleted, think of it like a factory reset button on a motherboard."
"Afterwards you will be randomly reincarnated into another being, so that your soul attachments can wear down and you may ascend to your next life, any questions?"
Can i end up being reincarnated as a fly? Those things only live like what? 28 days?
"What will I be reincarnated as?"
I felt unease just asking this question.
"If you do reincarnate,while there is a possibility for you to become anything from a dog to a dragon, the odds of you being a plant are higher. "
"That's because there are more types of plants and the goal of this reincarnation is to wear down your soul attachments. "
"Something that plants exell at after all most plants have no conscience. "
"There are exception though, such as plants that formed a hive mind or posses a powerful self aware soul"
I was just about to ask to which 'paradise' I was going to be sent to when, sudently, I heard a voice coming from behind me.
"I, Rodrigo Vincentino de Castela, fough on the name of the lord! On the name of justice and fairness!"
"I died protecting the Holy land! I died for the cross that bears his sigil!"
"And now! You! Dare say there is a chance, I won't be going to the arms of the LORD! BLASPHEMY!"
Time and space work differently here when compare to the realm of the living
As such people that died in the 4th century or in different dimensions from my own can meet.
As I was thinking such thing I suddenly felt a bump on my side, from the crusader guy trying to wrestle the robot guy, next thing I know I'm falling down the poll... without drinking the potion.
