Chapter 35: A New Servant

"Argh!" Lizzy yelled in pain while holding her head.

Max silently watched as she kept rolling on the ground. She agreed to become his slave because she had no other choice, it's a good thing she put aside her pride just for the sake of being alive. As he said earlier, he returned the heart to her and began the process of making her his slave. Unlike Boone who didn't feel any pain, she felt an immense pain surge through her entire body.

The pain lasted for ten minutes before it finally subsided. Lizzy opened her eyes and stared at Max for a long time as if trying to process something.

"What are you m-master?" She asked in low a tone.

"Aren't you surprised that I was able to defeat you without too much struggle? That's because I am your Lord!" Max replied and then grinned.

"You are a de-demon?" She exclaimed and then lowered her head in shock. Now, she can understand why he was able to defeat her easily and why he was able to identify her.

"Shocking right? Now! Enough of the questions, as a slave you have no right to question me, do you understand?" Max's expression changed to a serious one. She needed a reminder that she is no longer who she was before, she is now a slave and as such, the rights and privileges she once had are all gone.

"Yes, master. I understand," She said and bowed with her knees on the ground.

"Boone, come out here," Max said and immediately, the shadow knight materialized before him.

"Master, I'm here," the shadow knight bowed lightly as he replied.

"I've brought you a friend, what do you say?" Max asked with a smirk. The shadow knight looked at Lizzy and then lowered his head again.

"Master, it is nice of you," he replied. How can a little girl become his friend? He didn't know what else to say to his master and he couldn't say no to him.

Max saw the look on his face and laughed inwardly. "Alright then! You, I'll let you live your daily life in this school, don't address me as your master in the public or I'll have your tongue cut off,"

"Yes master, I understand."

Max turned and looked at Boone who met his gaze. "Keep an eye on her and don't let her do anything stupid!" He said through mind-link.

"Yes! Understood!" Boone replied.

Max glanced at Lizzy before leaving the place. He was extremely tired but at the same time, happy with the result. Who would have thought that he will be getting another servant, it's quite a pity that Lizzy isn't strong yet but that would not be a problem as she is still young. Not knowing all the levels of demons, Max still needed to get stronger. No one knew what problem he would face at any time and as such he had to try and become a full demon.

Max walked tiredly until he got to his dorm, he pushed open the door and went in, closing the door behind him with a bang which awoke Zheren immediately.

"You are back! Where have you been? And why are you looking so....." Zheren kept asking Max who had no strength to answer him. He lightly pushed Zheren aside and walked to the bed, slumping on it like a bag of cement.

"Can we leave it tomorrow? I'm too tired!" Max mumbled and without waiting to be replied he dozed off. Zheren watched him snore for some time before sighing, he gently covered him up with the blanket and then went over to his mattress to continue his sleep.

"What! She's a demon?" Zheren yelled with his eyes wide open.

They had woken up early and Max like he promised last night told him everything that happened between him and Lizzy.

"Yes, and guess what? I made her my servant,", Max replied proudly and let out a light chuckle.

"That is impressive, I must say. When I saw her, I just knew she was too weird for a girl. I mean... How she speaks and all that, I felt she was off. Luckily you thought the same way or else she would have wiped out the whole school," Zheren said and took a seat.

"I do not think she would be capable of destroying the entire school, she is not up to the task if I must say," Max replied.

"You think so?" Zheren asked with a raised brow.

"Uhuh!" Max replied with a nod. Zheren looked at him for some time and then sighed. While the both of them were still talking, they heard a knock on the door, Zheren got up and walked to the door, opening it, they were met with a student.

"The Dean wants to see you now at his office," the boy said to Max and then left the door.

"Are you in trouble again?" Zheren could not help but ask.

"There is only one way to find out," Max replied with a shrug.

The two boys got dressed and left for the Dean's office which was a bit far from the dorms. While they were walking, many eyes kept falling on them, some of which were filled with malice, hatred and scorn while the few ones were filled with pity. This didn't go unnoticed by Zheren, he glanced at Max and seeing how calm he was sighed and didn't say a word. Soon, they got to the office and went in, there he was met with the Dean, Nat, Harry and Matt and lastly their homeroom teacher who frowned lightly upon seeing Max.

"You called us," Max said without greeting the man. As far as he is concerned, the man doesn't deserve his greeting, not any of them do.

"Well, I called you all here because of what happened yesterday... " The man started calmly while he stared at Max and the other boys. "I am impressed with what you boys did, yes. I am impressed! And so I called you here to say thank you."

Max glared at the man as he spoke. 'Such pretentious act' He said inwardly with a disdain look on his face. The more the man spoke, the more he got tired of just listening to all that he was saying. "Is that all you called us here for?" Max voiced out with impatience, he was already fed up with the man's continuous blab.

"Max, watch it!" The young teacher said as a warning.

"It's alright, the boy can speak however he likes, I don't mind," the Dean replied to the teacher and then turned his attention to Max. "That is all for now, if you want to leave, then go ahead."

Max didn't wait for a second and walked out of the office followed by his friend.

"But Sir...." The teacher tried to talk but was stopped by the man.

"His arrogance won't last!" The man replied coldly.
