Chapter 2: Becoming Fenghuang Fei Lan (2)

Fei Lan did three necessary activities to start up a good lv morning: washing her face and body in rose petaled bathwater to feel clean, brushed her teeth to refresh, and styled her straight hair into a ponytail to look pretty for herself.

There wasn't anyone to take care of her needs so she had to resort to doing things alone until she no longer cared for her own health, but that won't happen anymore.

She'll make sure to properly care for her health this time and strive to live wholeheartedly even if its set in stone.

The servants assigned to serve her don't care for her, but they would still come to give her a piece of bread and water under the orders of the Madam.

One of more eventful moments is that they wo uld also purposely trash talk outside her room's door even if she was above them as the second young miss of the Fenghuang family clan.

But to be fair, she has much more important things to think about than to listen to the same gossip nonsense about her being the foster daughter of the family.

With such negligent, sleazy, and sly servants of Madam Fenghuang, they would constantly lie to the other family members that Fei Lan wanted to be left alone because she preferred to mourn for her mother forever and didn't want to be disturbed everyday.

Because of that lie, she was able to slip away to what the novel world had to offer.

The new second miss was met with a world almost like the modern era but with fantasy twists of a coexistence with humans, mystical beasts and elven kind known as the Aurora Union.

Halflings are usually frowned upon by the old generation but not banned as to keep the bond of the races close as family.

Those outside the coexistence have their own coexistence from the other side of the continent known as the Nether Cry Sect, a sect that conducts inhumane cultivation to reach high levels and thus considered dangerous to the Aurora Union.

Now then, it was time to step outside of the family manor and into the Grand Resonance City's main plaza.

From outside of the Grand Resonance City were mystical beasts that roam in the forests of the unknown and long-living cultivators, who worked hard to become immortal, training in both the western and eastern nations of the Aurora Union. The hierarchy system is established in some nations and many buildings were of traditional manors to large castles structured like what you'd find in the fantasy genre.

There were also a lot of cultivation schools all around, coming together for their students to compete in a tournament in order to win rare items to boost their soul spirits greatly. Now that she thought about it, this event was familiar to a chapter arc in a book she read in the past.

"This. . ."

Fei Lan's thoughts were interrupted in the center of the plaza where it held a statue of the first founder of the Grand Resonance City, a heroic young man with a handsome and radiant smile.

"The Legendary Hero, Divine Light Spirit Master Jin. Founder of the Grand Resonance City."

The description for him was engraved on the stone base below his giant-sized statue.

"Jin. . .Divine Light Spirit Master."

He was mentioned a few times at the beginning of the story when the hero had history class, with the teacher religiously spouting out how amazing and heroic he was to everyone that most of the students were tired of the speech.

As she wanders off to her thoughts, a father and son duo entered the plaza.

"Father, I'm going to apply for Spirit Enlightenment Academy for the enrollments tomorrow. This son of yours will become a powerful spirit master in that school!"

"Why not Radiant Road Academy or Valiant Path Academy? Your uncles went to those twin schools and came out as powerful spirit masters all the same. Spirit Enlightenment Academy is for the high and mighty and only a few could join that school."

"But the school has access to all the rare materials and cultivation books all around the continent! I'd grow faster by getting them!"

"You fool! So what if they have rare stuff?! Your determination and strength to find other ways without using cheat stuff at the beginning is the best experience for spirit masters! That's what the paths of the twin schools do!"

The father and son duo argued back and forth near Fei Lan, gathering people's attention on them. The girl took the chance to visit what supposedly looked like the library to seek out more knowledge of the world she was in while replaying their words in her head.

Tomorrow was enrollments for the schools?

Then that means the hero will be present during that time!

Since there wasn't much time left until tomorrow, Fei Lan decided upon the quickest and easiest subjects to prepare for the day and after awhile, it was time to head back and rest.

She bid goodbye to the long, curly haired librarian before making her way out with the latter's seemingly unnoticed violet gaze watching the girl go.

The young lady ran back to the Fenghuang manor and climbs up the fence back into her courtyard without anyone knowing, making her way into her room from the window and sat down on her bed with rushing motivation.

Well, that feeling turned into nervousness fast. It would be the first time meeting the main character of the story, and the start of his long journey.

Will his adventures include the current Fei Lan this time?

It would be nice. . .

To be his valuable friend.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

There were many ideas swirling in my mind about how I’d execute this chapter but all failed to get by faster as what I thought up would end up complicating everything and the information wouldn’t be digestible all the way, so I decided to leave the important ones here and let the rest explain through the next chapters.

A whole lot of writer’s block really takes it away sadly and I did say I’m not much of a writer myself but will still try to keep up. Hope you enjoy today’s chapter!~
