Chapter 29: Ch 28 – Edge of the Universe

Right in the void of space, a singular van was flying through it with the gravity field around it bent that it allows the van to travel faster than light.

'Huh, so that's one difference between this universe and the one from Rick, there's no asteroid belt around the solar system.' Braun thought, sitting in the driver's seat as he has successfully gained slight control over space-time just on his 11th month in space, his more than a year-long journey being shorted into only a year.

'Manipulating space-time along with gravity is so busted, I could bypass some universal laws and do feats like this. Though this control is still far away from time travel, it should be achievable in a century give or take at my current pace.' Braun thought, a blue holographic screen appearing right in front of him that shows he was about to leave the sun's orbit and onto the larger universe.

'3.' Braun thought, slowly counting down as he will reach the grander universe and find alien life.

'2.' Braun counts, a grin slowly creeping on his face that is weirdly a lot more beautiful and handsome than before, his large body from before shrinking down to only 168 centimeters in height, a body that was better to avoid danger with, and reach isn't a problem for him considering he can control the fundamental forces.

'1.' Braun thought, his van finally reaching the edge and far from his expected vision, his whole van suddenly crashes right against something undetectable at faster than light speeds, the barrier around his van going overdrive from the crash while his whole van rocks around in distress.

'What?' Braun thought, glancing in front of him with confused eyes, as a swarm of nanobots swarms around the van to repair it, his armor that has shrunk down to accommodate his smaller size envelops his whole body and he opens the door right beside him to see what was in front of him.

Arriving at the void of space, he passes through the blue barrier covering the whole van to inspect what was in front of him.

Controlling the electromagnetic field of his body, he floats right in front where the van has clashed with something invisible and puts his hand forward, the feeling of touching something both physical and non-physical envelops the palm of his hands.

'What is this?' Braun thought, the irises of his helmet shining blue to try and analyze what the barrier was, but even that failed as nothing came up.

With his eyebrows raised, he closes his eyes to try and see what the barrier could be, entering his mental library that holds all of Rick's knowledge, sifting through the assortment of books that floats in front of him opened, he looks through all the knowledge Rick knows in regards to barrier or space which Rick definitely knows considering how much of a space fan he was.

'Barriers, barriers, hmm… There's nothing similar to this one other than a certain few.' Braun thought, opening his eyes once more to inspect what the barrier is in front of him once more.

Connecting to his field of control, he concentrates his focus on the undetectable barrier in front of him and his field couldn't even sense anything past this invisible barrier in front of him.

'Wait… don't tell me!' Braun thought, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief as if something he didn't even think was possible just became possible.

Hastily closing his eyes and grabbing a certain book from the bunch, he browses through the content of the books while the memories flash in his eyes, and soon, a certain scene was shown.

(Flashback)

As a ufo-shaped vehicle flies through the vastness of space, a certain drunk Rick and a curious Morty watches everything around him with interested eyes.

"Where are we going, Rick?" Morty asks, his head planted straight on the glass wall of the ship.

"To-to the edges of the universe, that motherfucker thinks he knows better than me! I'll show him! I'll show him his dumb little theory is wrong! I'm always right! Nobody would be right against me!" Rick shouts, slamming his legs to the ground in rage, the car entering hyperspeed causing Morty's mouth to flap all around the place, and in just an instant, they appeared in… the middle of space.

"Where's the edge of the universe, Rick? This place looks pretty spacey to me," Morty asks, glancing around to see the same old space with stars and planets littered around in vast distances.

"Just wait Morty, geez, why are you so impatient," Rick said, slowly moving his ship forwards as Morty glances around, trying to find this so-called edge of the universe.

But unexpectedly, as Rick's ship moves forward towards nothing, it suddenly halts while the feeling of it bumping into something took Morty's attention.

"H-huh? What did we bump into Rick?" Morty asks, glancing around trying to find whatever it was that Rick bumped into.

"The edge of the universe," Rick said nonchalantly, pressing a button on the ship, and a white light flashed in front of them to show the edge clearly, a rapidly expanding field of space-time appearing in front of them and the edge soon escapes their vision.

"That's it? I thought it would be something cooler like, like, uh… A… I don't know, just something cooler than that thing," Morty said, unimpressed by the edge of the universe.

"Uh-huh, well if we passed through it we would enter the area between universes, but I have other plans for now, like proving that I was right!" Rick said, turning the ship around while Morty's eyes widen.

"W-wait! Did you say the area between universes? You mean the multiverse?!" Morty asks, his eyes sparkling.

"Yes! It's the multiverse, and no, we won't go there, your brain would most likely *burp* explode or some shit due to how sensory overloading glancing at the whole multiverse is, your small brain wouldn't even be able to comprehend what you would see if that *burp* were to happen," Rick said, waving his hand to Morty to show he won't go there.

"Aw geez," Morty said, his head slumping down in disappointment.

(Flashback end)

'It is the edge of the universe!' Braun thought, looking at the invisible barrier in front of him.

'But this one… it's a stagnant universe? But how? A universe only the size of a solar system, I could see how this would have been made and worked but this means… This universe was artificially made or under the control of a higher being. Sigh, at least this isn't the worst possibility.' Braun thought, rubbing his head in annoyance.

'This means to get out of this universe, I would have to either make a device that breaks open the literal barriers of a universe which is a monumental task or meet with the being who controls the entire universe which is another monumental task. At least I got most of the coordinates done and I could basically teleport towards anywhere in this universe now that the algorithm has been fed enough data.' Braun thought, letting out a sigh and opening a portal right beside him and entering his van.

Starting his ship's engine, he flies through the portal and appears directly inside his moon base, opening the door, he jumps out of it and portals into his moon lab.

'So, new plan. Considering how low going to another universe where the universal edge is much larger and bigger is, I'll just make the plan of time traveling back to the inception of the universe and gather enough data so I don't have to do this crap again and could just past through the edge whenever I please. But I still have some unfinished business in this world, so let's do them and then trick a time traveler in another universe.' Braun thought while a multitude of screens flash in his vision, the recent history of the world unraveling itself to him.

'So, the necromancer has most of the world under his control now huh? His army always growing that even Star and Stripe, Archwizard, and more number 1 heroes of various nations got under his control, even AFO.' Braun reads through the series of events in front of him, a quick rundown of what happened to the world in his 1-year absence.

'But fortunately, it seems like no time traveler exists in this universe so that's a neat advantage over him.' Braun thought, deciding to check up on All Might, he surprisingly sees that he seems to be in hiding along with Izuku who now has his quirk, a quick flashback to the scene where All Might still gave his quirk to Izuku on the beach.

'It seems like there's still a residual power left within him, sigh, I guess I'll recollect the debt that he owes me right now, it's time to play hero and get the necromancer for myself.' Braun thought, walking towards one of the equipment in his labs called the fabricator, multiple blue holographic constructs appear on top of the fabricator and he slowly designs the armor that All Might and Izuku will have, though it did surprise him when he saw Izuku wielding multiple quirks fending off the necromancer's army.

'A piston-based strength enhancer, an adaptive armor that could change for the situation through the algorithms inside the nanobots, a barrier for protection, a miniature nuclear reactor, an assistant AI…' Braun slowly designs the armor both One For All wielders will wear, not only would he hit two birds with one stone by getting the necromancer, but he would also gain more in-depth data on how One for All works, and perhaps even gain a new way of making time crystals compared to the one he has in mind right now.

As he expands one holographic construct, he inserts more parts into the blueprint of the armor while data flashed beside the armor to show its stats like energy requirement, defense, strength, flight speed, and more that would be enviable to many researchers such as him.

As he toils in his hard work, the stats of the armor became better and better as time passes on, from flight speed of Mach 1 to Mach 5 at maximum, from a clunky metallic suit of armor to a skin-tight nano-armor that acts like clothes. Better AI, better strength improvements, better defenses, everything in regards to the armor became better.

'If I were to change the energy limit by a few folds, it would provide better defenses but the energy drain would get exponentially larger. But if I were to increase the size of the nuclear reactor by a few centimeters, not in width but length, the energy production would rise.' Braun thought in his mind, his mind becoming engrossed in improving the armor for a few hours straight.

'Considering they are more of a close-combat fighter, the gloves should have small protrusions to bring piercing damage with their fist. And if I were to ionize the air with their smashes, it would bring devastating damage to their enemies.' Braun thought, his armor design becoming ridiculous that if someone were to get ahold of this, taking over nations would be as easy as smashing a watermelon with a sledgehammer.

But his peaceful inventing time was soon disrupted when two blaring alarms played in his mind and a live feed of both All Might and Izuku was fighting against a horde of enemies by the hundreds, both of them being surrounded right inside a forest with their body being riddled with blood and bruises.

"Izuku, I don't think we would last long enough to save the world," All Might mutters, his breath being ragged while their muscles tensed up.

Izuku stayed silent while green sparks flashed all around his body, both of them prepared for their final fight against that cruel man.

But soon, a golden portal suddenly appears in the middle of the two which took the attention of everyone around the area including a certain necromancer whose eyes became bloodshot the moment the golden portal appeared.

"All Might, it's time to repay that debt of yours," a distorted AI-like voice said from the portal, a silver arm passing through it, dropping two spherical silver balls on the ground confusing everyone there.

But soon, the balls shoot up to the two and within a split second, a silver-white armor envelops the duo whose eyes widen in shock, their bodies becoming enhanced to a ridiculous degree and their strength rising through the roof from the connection they soon have with their body.

As the both of them grin behind their masks, and their morals lessening, a bloodbath soon ensues in the peaceful forest from two beings who plan to save the world once and for all.
