Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Going to Church/ First Day of School.
It was finally the day where we were to go to church. We went to the same church the Sun's did so we sat next to them and Zee sat next to me and leaned her head on my shoulder I did the same. I leaned my head on hers. Her soon to be boyfriend sat on the other side of her. Then she saw him getting a little jealous it was cute. So she leaned on him for a bit I was fine with it.
Finally it was time for prayers and prayer requests. My uncle raised his hand and they gave him the microphone. "Hello everyone I'm new here. My name is Bain." "Hello Bain." Said everyone. "Well I am sure you heard about Knight and Zee's father he is my best friend. I'm sure Ms. Sun here has been praying for him every time she is here I would like to continue prayin for him. Also I would like to pray for Knights health. I'm sure she did that too. Last but not least a prayer of thanks to god. Just 2 days ago I went out searching. Well I have been searching on the weekends and on work days after work. Anyway I found a clue that he may be around somewhere. So please keep your prayers up for the family thank you." Then he gave the microphone back and sat down. Then the man said, "Yes when someone we love goes missing it is hard on us. God will provide maybe not it a way we want but we must have patience we all know god does things in his time." "Amen." Said everyone. After church I went running over to Bain. "So you found evidence? What was it? where did you find it?" "Woah kid calm down. I can't show you what I found. Its something that belonged to her." "Oh darn it. OK well can you at least tell me where you found it?" "Yeah at towards the bottom of the mountain. I think your father might have fallen. That's weird though. You think I would have heard him fall and I probably would have been able to bring him home. Why? Why did this have to happen to him? Why does this stuff have to happen you an innocent family like yours." "Sorry kids. For getting upset." "Its fine uncle. Thanks for worrying about us." "Its ok kids."
We went our separate ways, auntie rode on Blaze wile I rode on spririt with uncle. "Uncle. I feel bad for Auntie. Is there any way we can cheer her up?" "Thank you Zee. I'm afraid not. At least not until we can figure out a way to keep your brother healthy. She is worried about his health as much as I am." "Oh uncle. I just wish I can do something." Uncle rubbed her head and said, "I know Zee you are kind just like your mother. As for your brother he definitely takes after your dad." "Hehe I know right? But without him I think I would end up like he is right now with mom. I would get sick every time I saw something that reminded me of him. Oh that reminds me. When we get home I want to show you something that brother made." "Ok sure."
Once they got home and put the horses back, Zee went into her brother's room and showed uncle the pictures he made of them. He drew pictures of everyone of them including himself and what he though of them. She gave them a picture of them that he drew and I saw Auntie Quinn crying. "Aww. What a sweet boy. Is this what he really thinks of me? Here honey you read it." "Our loud or in my head." "Out loud if you want." "ok sure. Its says. This is my Aunt Quinn who looks a lot like my mother. I know she is not my mother but she feels familiar. I wish I didn't get sick so much around her I want to get know her more. Someday I hope I don't get sick around her and get a change to Love her Like I loved mom. Oh Wow." "Did he really say that?" "No wonder your eyes got blurry. Mine are watering as well just reading that." "Here you read mine. Its not as sweet as yours it should be fine. Read it in your head. Lets see yours Zee." So she gave uncle her picture and read it. "Yeah that's totally a sibling thing. Sorry that's what he thinks of you but hey it says her he loves you and can never hate you and will protect you no matter what." "Hehe that is what they all say." "Oh uncle there is one more. He drew one of himself. Read this." He started reading out loud. This is a self portrait of me. Here is what I think of myself. I used to be a sick person as a kid then got better. I moved in with my uncle who is my dad's best friend. I consider him as a second father. I just hope I stop being a sick boy. I need to be able to protect my sister. Also yes I am stubborn I get that from my dad. I also am handsome and have an awesome personality." "Hehe brother is so full of himself. I can't wait till he meets a girl who can put up with him. I'd love to meet the girl." "Oh is that so?" said Uncle. "Hehe. Yeah." I put the pictures back but stacked them neatly for him this time. "Oh uncle Aunt don't let him know you have seen them. I don't know if he wanted you to see these yet." "Ok we promise."
Time flew by and it was the day before their first day of school so we went to go pick up my brother from the Sun's place. "Hello Everyone." "Oh hello Kiran. I missed you too." "I wish you can come over often." "Me too but when he starts school I will be able to come when we drop him off on the weekends for a little bit." "Yeah but that's not enough." "Kiran. I'm sorry Zee." "Hehe its ok. He's a little clingy I'm used to it. Neighbors daughter is the same way when I have to leave." "Oh and how old is she?" "Oh she is 2 years younger than me." "oh so she is 7 years old." "Yes she is. We start school tomorrow that is why we are here to pick him up." "Oh ok them. Are you all packed Knight?" "Yes Ms. Sun thank you. Oh Ms. Sun can I talk to you for a minute?" "Sure. Go ahead and spend some time with Kiran until you leave ok?" "OK thanks." So she did and I talked to Ms. Sun. "I've been wondering for awhile and noticed the kids. Were they like that when their father was around?" "I see picked up on that huh? Well Kiran was the one that changed the most. He didn't get a chance to have a father figure growing up. That is probably why he is so clingy and needs to work on his social skills. Maybe he will be less clingy." "I see. If you don't mind me asking what happened to their father?" "Oh child. He-He died when I was pregnant with Kiran." "Oh I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bring any bad memory up." "No its ok. I still have good memories of him. We need to have memories of him. When someone you love dies you need memories of that person weither it's a mother or father sibling friend anyone close to you. With any memories of that person how can anyone ever be happy again?" "I see You need memories of people to make you happy. You are happy because you remember them. I'll remember that Ms. Sun thank you for that." Then I left for uncle.
"Hey uncle before we go I want to ask you something. Do you know any man who teacher good social skills for free?" "Well I know of one man. Luckily he is still in his 20's so he has fresh knowledge. I'll talk to Ms. Sun. Hang on a minute." "OK thanks uncle."
"Hello Ms. Son. We are about ready to go. I heard one of your sons needs social skills. Is that true?" "Yes but I don't have the money." "Oh don't worry about money. This man is in his 20's he will do it for free if needed. He said he has plenty of it he just wants to help kids get along in the world better." "I see and how far is this man?" "Oh well of course if its ok he will be staying with me. Or Zee. I would not let him be around anyone I don't trust." "Well Kiran would certainly be happy. How long would it last?" "Oh I was thinking at least until School was over and he would come over for the weekends with Knight." "Oh I love that Idea. Would you? Please sir?" "Of course." "Thank you so much. If there is a way I can repay you please let me know." "Oh never Ms. Sun. You have taken care of these kids since they were babies just continue taking care of your kids and these two when they are here that is payment enough." "Ok thank you Bain. I knew I liked you." "Haha. Have you ever thought of dating again?" "Well I have been afraid to with Kiran's clinginess that is why I need help. Also my other son Rin. Is encouraging me to go out and he would watch him but he is only 12 going on 13." "I understand. I can't guarantee he will be completely better in a Yeah but I can guarantee he will be much better than he was in a year."
"Thank you sir. Looking forward to it. Kiran honey. Kiran!" "Coming mommy." "Kiran honey. Starting now. You will be living with Bain. You will come home on the weekends with Knight." "I'll miss you mommy." "I know honey. You will be going to a teacher that can help you with your social skills. Your talking and other things. When you get back you will see Zee everyday." "Yay I get to see Zee. I been missing her." "Hehe. I know honey. Be good for Bain now try not to cling so much ok?" "I'll do my best mommy. I'll be big and strong so I can protect Zee with my life when Knight is not there." "Hehe or you are so cute." Zee told him. "Anyway watch over him Zee and Bain. You too Knight." "I will Ms. Sun. I will see you on the weekend." "OK kids be good."
Uncle walked holding Blaze's saddle while I sat on Blaze. Zee sat on spirit with Kiran. "Man I never knew how clinging that kid was." I said. "Hey its good while it lasts." Said Zee. "Pluss we are still young and have time to fix it. that is why we are doing it now right?" "Haha I guess."
We finally got home and put the horses back. Uncle showed Kiran he would be staying in Knights room and he agreed. "Honey this is Kiran. He will be staying with us for the school year. He will be going for social skills while the kids are at school. Don't worry I will pick him up after work." "OK what about look for the kids father?" "Oh don't worry about that the guys go out every day looking for him without me. If they find anything they would let me know." "Ok sounds good. Is this little boy the same age as Zee?" "Haha you noticed too?" "Yeah I saw how clingy he was." "Yeah he is we are trying to help him not be so clingy and help with his social skills. He will be going with Knight on the weekends back home to visit." "Well that's good. I wish I can see my family again." "Hey its ok. I'm here. Shh. I'm your family now." "I know thank you Bain. You are always good to me. Sorry for tearing up like this." "Its all ok."
The 3 of us hung out in my room and talked about random stuff that me and Zee would probably do in school and what Kiran might have to do at social skills class. After awhile we decided to go play outside for a bit.
Hours later it was time for dinner. "Hey Uncle Bain. What did you cook tonight?" "Oh its your favorite and Zee's favorite. I cooked them both. I made fish and Soba noodles with the good stuff in it. I roasted the fish over a fire like you like them. "Awesome uncle. Thank you. Wait uncle. Where is Auntie Quinn?" "Your Auntie Quinn didn't want to make you sick so she wants to eat alone in her room." "Oh uncle I may get a little lightheaded but I'll be fine." "Are you sure Knight?" "Yeah plus I got some good advice from Ms. Sun. I want to try it out." "OK then I will go get her. Go ahead and eat everyone. Enjoy." Zee helped Kiran get his bowl and wanted fish too. He tore up the fish and put it in his soba. "Hey that's a good idea. Lets try that." Said Knight. Zee and I copied Kiran and we loved it. "Hmm. It is good. Thanks for the idea Kiran." I ruffled Kiran's hair and Zee kissed him on the cheek. "Zee. Not in front of your brother." "Haha don't worry. When you become teenagers. It will be worse." "By then I would be a lot better and know more." "That's right Kiran." Said Uncle walking in with Auntie Quinn. "You will know more and be a lot more mature. Right?" "I sure hope so but what does Matre mean?" "Mature Kiran. It means like you said know more and act more like a grown up." "Oh ok makes much sense now." "Hehe Oh Kiran what are we going to do with you." Said Zee. "Oh Auntie Quinn. Glad to see you." "Thank you Zee. How are you feeling Knight?" I did practice at remembering what Ms. Sun said. "We need memories of that person to be happy. Remembering them will make us happy." "Yeah I'll be fine." I said in a strained. Tone. "NO Auntie don't go. I'm really fine. sorry to worry you. I tried it out and it worked. I had an exercise I was trying in my head. Its something Ms. Sun said I kept repeating in my head and it seems to help a lot." I took a few bites of my food and after I swallowed I said, "If it helps you guys I will be willing to tell you." "Sure please tell us." Said Auntie Quinn. "OK sure. We got to talking about families I asked her about her husband. That is when I apologized after what she told me about him. Kiran never knew him but she told me. "The friends Relatives that are close to me I have memories of. Keep the memories close to you. Remembering them will make you happy. Memories are made to make people happy and remember the happy times with that person. I'm sorry Uncle. I think I ate something wrong." I ran out to the toilet and started throwing up. This time it was blood. "Oh no. I though I was did good. Now I'm worried. I went to tell uncle in his ear what happened. He ran to the bathroom with me and looked. "Yes that might be blood. Lets check with the doctor to be sure tomorrow before school. I will let them know you will be late. Your sister will be there on time though. I will have call the man helping Kiran I will be a little late. Go ahead and get some rest. Don't worry lets just pray it doesn't have to do with stress ok?" "Thanks uncle." I said weakly. I stripped down and went to sleep quickly.
"Uncle is Knight Ok?" "I hope so. He must have had a bad piece of fish or something. We will go to the doctor tomorrow to find out. Zee you will be walking to school I will have Kiran and Knight. They will be a little late. When I get there I will apologize to them." "OK uncle." Zee had lost her appetite. "I'm done. I'm going to bed." "Goodnight Zee. Sweet dreams." "Thanks Auntie." "You too Kiran." "Thank you Auntie." Then they both went in their rooms but not before Zee checked on Knight. "Is Knight ok?" "I hope so Kiran. I really hope so. If my brother dies I don't know what I will do. I can't loose him." He must have heard her cause he woke up a little bit. "You won't loose me sis. I promise I won't die until we find father ok? I promised you I would find father." "I know so stay strong ok Knight?" I put up a fist to show her I will. "Good You better be good to your word or when its my time and I see you again I will get back at you for not holding you to it." "Haha I know. I will do my best sis." "OK I feel like I can sleep now. I love you brother." "I love you too sis." Zee gave a kiss on my forehead. "Thanks sis." I smiled then she turned to Kiran. She kissed his forehead hugged him and ruffled his hair. "OK now. I will tuck you in but then go to sleep ok?" "Yes Zee I promise." "OK good boy. Sweet dreams both of you." "You too Zee." WE both said at the same time then Zee went to her room.
The next morning it was time for school. Zee walked to school as she was told and Bain took both the kids on Blaze since he was a strong horse.
"Hello. Is the doctor here?" "Yes I am here what is it?" "Oh Knight. What happened Bain?" "Well he thew up and it looked like blood came up. Usually by the next day there is still some left right?" "Yes get him in quickly." "Come on Kiran." "OK Uncle." So we took him to the clinic part and he got some tests done. He had to get some tubes down the throat to get samples. The tests were finally done now that had to wait for results. "Gross." I said. "I know Knight. Here wash your mouth out." Said the doctor. "Thanks." I went to the sink and did just that.
Ah much better.
After awhile it had been a couple of hours and results came back. "So doc how is it?" "Well it definitely was not blood. So you can be relief on that. As for why he threw up it was just a normal stomach ache he ate too much." "So it had nothing to do with the stress then?" "No he did well. The stress test did show that he had a slight stress level but not enough to hurt him. It seems like he learned something got some tips from somebody huh?" "Well it wasn't me." "It was my mommy." "Oh is that so. Are you Ms. Sun's kid?" "Yes I'm Kiran." "Oh I see well your mommy did a good job. Tell her I said so ok?" "Ok that would make mom happy." "OK lets go then." Said Bain. "Thanks a bunch Doc." "No problem." "Was that really not Blood Doc?" "Surprisingly no. I was telling the truth. That boy is full of mystery."
He went to the Social skills man first. "Sorry I know I'm 2 hours Late. I had to take Knight to the hospital for a checkup." "Well then. I will for give you. We got 2 hours left of the session any way for today. So get him to school we will be fine. Won't we Kiran?" "Hey I know you." "Yes you do. I have seen you around as well." "Ok well then I don't see any problems I'll be off to school with Knight then." Said Bain. Luckily school wasn't far away. He only missed 2 hrs. He has 5 more hours of school left. He was able to have breakfast at the hospital. So he was fine for that. "Sorry we are late. Had a hospital check up. He's fine. If anything happens and he gets sick let me know right away ok?" "OK relax. He will be fine Bain. I understand. You told me the situation already." "OK good. Knight walk home with your sister ok?" "Yes uncle I Know. Jeeze you and father worry to much about me. I'm not 5 years old anymore. I'm going to be 13 this month. Jeeze." "Haha ok then. Should I treat you like a man then?" "Just go I'm already late." "OK then." Bain left and the principal said. "Hang on Knight. I have someone in mind to escort you to classes your first few days." "OK sure." I saw him pick up a phone. "Hello. Yes. Can you have Zizzy come by the office. He finally showed up." "Ok thank you." "Zizzy? Really?" "Haha it's the nicknames people give him. I'm sure he will tell you his real name before long." "OK thanks principle."
Then the person we were waiting for showed up. "Hello Knight. I'm Zizzy. Well that's my Knick name. My real name is Zane. I don't know why people call me Zizzy it just stuck and I gave up and answered to it. SO where are we going now?" I gave him my schedule to look at. "Oh I just came from that class. That's why they want me to escort you. I'm in every class with you. Nice to meet you Knight. If you need anything just aske men ok?" "Sure thanks man." We made it to the class room and I was in front and introduced myself. "Hello. There. My name is Knight. Pleased to make your Acquaintances . I winked at the girls and whoever was watching. "Ok then please take your seat next to Zane." "Thank you. Mrs. H."
After school we both went home and told Uncle and Auntie how our day was.
