Chapter 20: Chapter 20

At night, Annah was ascending the stairs towards her dorm while greeting other hybrids along the way too. When she got to the room, Maine was waiting for her in there.

"How did it go?" Maine asked.

"Fine. I got a date." Annah said and looked at Maine. "So how does it feel being under the spell?"

"I can't really remember. But I felt like a puppet under Ricco's beckoning. I found myself sitting here for hours without moving. I missed my classes."

"Oh my gosh, that awful?" Annah asked and touched her friend's shoulder. "Are you okay now?"

"Yeah. But I'm alright." Maine dismissed. "But did you get Basik?"

"No, I got Ricco," Annah said and didn't have to wait longer when Maine was jumping in glee on her bed. "Oh gosh please."

But Annah found herself being spun gleefully around along with her friend in the bed.

"How did you do it, though?"

"I don't know. It just sort of happened." Annah shrugged her shoulders.
