Chapter 22: Michikatsu
"Who are you? Where are you taking him?" he asked in a dignified voice. His bearing was confident and dignified.
'He must be very powerful'
"Well, I don't think you should tell a stranger about your plans and identity" I said jokingly.
"You are not a demon yet at the same time you are not a human. Anyway I just need to kill you
Moon breathing first form: Dark moon, Evening Palace" a quick horizontal slash with a crescent shape was approaching towards me.
I immediately deflected the slash upwards and jumped back at the same time.
'Fast' I thought.
I immediately dropped the slayer in my hand as he will be a disturbance during the fight. He may also die in the middle of the fight.
I noticed his Nichirin sword had a violet colour. He immediately sent several slashes towards me as I defended it perfectly.
"You have learnt martial arts. You have even attained perfection in some" he complimented me.
"The same could be said for you. All your strikes are fast and precise. You are pretty talented" I replied.
"You don't know the meaning of talent if you think I am talented" he replied strangely.
'There is some bitterness in his voice' I thought as I produced a spear out of my bone.
We both engaged in close range combat as we traded blows. He swung his sword straight at my abdomen I blocked it with my spear, rotated it and aimed for his lower jaw.
He evaded back and sent an upward slash towards me. I easily evaded it and sent a powerful thrust from my spear.
He hurriedly defended it but was still sent flying from the sheer power. He coughed a mouthful of blood.
"Argh" he groaned but he recovered quickly by using the breathing. He increased his focus as he recognised I am not a very easy target.
"Fifth Form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy" he sent multiple curved slashes layered over one another, creating a rising vortex of sword slashes.
Instantly many bones protruded all over my body producing a layer of bones that acted like armour.
After the vortex ended I sent the protruded bones as projectiles that were rotating rapidly.
He evaded some and used his sword to deflect some. But two bones impaled his arms.
"Impaling Bone Porcupine" I announced my attack as many bones were produced from the two bones that impaled his arm.
Half of his left arm was full of bones rendering it useless. I didn't use the digestive enzymes as I didn't want to kill him yet.
"Aargh Aargh" he shouted in pain as some tears fell from his eye. He had a hard time breathing.
"Aah aah aah" he immediately controlled his breathing and recovered a little.
I closed in the distance and used my spear to repeatedly attack him. While he had a hard time defending. I sent some veins underground and attached them to his feet, syphoning his strength. Soon he noticed it.
"Second Form: Pearl Flower Moongazing" he created a barrage of slashes that defended him from my strikes and cut off the veins.
I failed to retreat in time and noticed some scratches on my hand. Small amounts of blood flowed from it.
'Nichirin blades does injure me. The burns irritate a bit. His breathing style is very versatile. It has long-range attacks, short-range attacks both for offence and defence. Sun is will raise anytime soon. I will quickly finish it'
"What is your name?" I asked him.
He hesitated a bit but still answered.
"Michikatsu Tsugikuni"
"Well Michikatsu, do you want to become something greater than human? Something that will give you greater power" I asked him in an alluring tone.
Based on my interaction with him, I deduced that he had a complicated and bitter relationship with some person. He also has intense jealousy towards that person.
'Maybe I can use that to make him into a vampire'
After the initial shock upon hearing my words and some hesitation he replied "I refuse"
"Truly a loss" I was a little disappointed even though I didn't expect success. I decided to end this fight by showing the difference between a human and a superior species even though one of his hands is already out of commission.
Soon many bones protruded from my body. I controlled them to form a circle in front of my body and started to spin them rapidly. Their speed was insane as surrounding trees were sucked by the vortex.
Spinning Vortex of Death.
Michikatsu was also rapidly sucked towards the spinning vortex of death. He stuck his sword in the ground but he couldn't break free from the vortex.
"Fifth Form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy" he created multiple curved slashes layered over one another, creating a rising vortex of sword slashes.
Both the vortex negated each other as he broke free from the vortex. But he was far from safety.
Six bone-like whips extended from my back. They were like spider legs yet at the same time different. The tips of the whip are very hard and sharp while the other parts are soft and spongy.
This allows these whips to have greater mobility at the same time great sharpness and damage-dealing ability.
All the whips simultaneous attacked Michikatsu.
Very soon his body was riddled with holes. Whenever he tried to cut the whips they will become very soft unable to cut through them. He had a hard time countering the whip.
"Shit shit. Sixth Form: Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant" releases a wild barrage of crescent-shaped slashes several meters in front of him. All the surrounding trees and plants were ravaged to pieces.
"Ninth Form: Waning Moonswaths" he unleashed a stream of long-ranged crescent-shaped vertical and horizontal slashes.
As I evaded and deflected the strikes I glanced at the sorry state of the thunder demon slayer. There were many slash marks on his already heavily injured body.
'How is he still alive? But still pretty ruthless of Michikatsu to attack wildly when his companion is nearby'
"Is that all you got Michikatsu?" I shouted in mockery.
Soon, I was shocked to notice that a flaming pattern was formed on Michikatsu's forehead.
It grew until it covered half of his face and it seemed like it was burning.
'Isn't the same one Tanjiro had?' I thought confused.
As if he was no longer human he arrived in front of me at an insane speed.
"First form: Dark moon, Evening palace" his violet sword momentarily turned red as he unleashed a huge horizontal slash.
I blocked it with my spear but then it broke into pieces and some part of my flesh got cut off. I noticed my regeneration has slowed down.
'That red colour blade slowed my regeneration. I wonder why? And the mark is not ordinary. It seems to give extraordinary powers to the slayers'
I instantly swung all my whips at insane speeds. But once again I was shocked to find to see that Michikatsu was evading all my strikes. Not even one strike reached him.
'It seems like he is reading and predicting my attacks'
"Finally, I achieved Transparent World" I heard his elated voice.
