Chapter 24: A Demon named Tamayo
"What did you say?" Michikatsu said with disbelief all over his face.
"We have found that those who awakened the Mark die at the age of 25"
'Did I hear it right? I will die upon reaching the age of 25. Why? Why did it happen? Because I wanted extra strength to fight the demons? Because I want to defeat Yoriichi?
Do I have to become a demon just so that I can live long enough to refine my skills. Will I only be the strongest swordsman if I become a demon?'
Among his chaotic thoughts, he finally calmed down as he remembered something.
"Yoriichi what about you?" he asked Yoriichi.
"Don't worry brother. I have long accepted it. Before I die I want to fulfil my destiny" Yoriichi answered.
'How is he so calm?' the jealousy and respect for Yoriichi increased again.
"I only hope that I will eradicate the demons before many slayers and people lose their life" Yoriichi answered and soon left.
'What about the monster I fought today? What is he? He even looked like a kid about 16 or 17 years' Michikatsu thought
"You should rest Michikatsu. Don't stress your body and mind. Try to calm down" soon the flower hashira also left.
Michikatsu was left one. He just stood there for some time when he suddenly noticed a crow come over. It was very unusual. It suddenly dropped a letter in front of him and flew away.
Michikatsu picked the letter with caution and opened it. Inside it was an address of a place. He instantly understood what it was and fell into deep thought.
Huitzilin Pov
I have sent a letter to Michikatsu. If he rejected it and got in my way again I have no choice but to kill him.
But many monsters do hide in Japan. Muzan and the guy I sensed yesterday. I guess that he is the first breath user.
He is the original user of the Hinokami Kagura or the breath of the Sun. I wonder how powerful is he.
Anyway, what should I do now? Soon the whole day was spent with just me lazing around without doing anything.
The next I got an unusual visitor. She was a beautiful woman with long, dark brown hair
that was wore tied in a low ponytail and had stilted pupils.
"Who are you?" I asked her even though I knew who she was.
"My name is Tamayo" she answered. Her eyes were blank like he had lost all the will to live. Even her voice was meek.
I invited her in as I didn't know the reason for her arrival. Why did she come? Did Muzan send her? Why? amidst my thought, we finally reached the living room.
It was just an old room with dust everywhere. I didn't even have many furniture.
"May I know the reason for your visit Miss Tamayo?" I asked curiously. This was the first time I had met a character from the anime. It was a surreal experience.
I don't know if she was scared of my presence or any other reason but she was very meek and docile. She immediately answered my question.
"T-that person wants you to immediately leave Japan" she said stuttering.
"Muzan Kibutsuji?" I asked. I saw her tremble for a moment upon mentioning that name. Immense hatred and weakness appeared in her eyes. She nodded her head weakly.
"Why?" I asked.
"H-he says he knows you are not an ordinary human. He said you are a rip off of himself and a deviant in his path to perfection. He is just giving you a warning and will not hesitate to kill you if you didn't heed his command.
You can also heed his command and become his servant. He said he may even share his blood to make you stronger" she answered with a hint of sympathy and pity.
'Man, what a narcissistic and petty guy. He says that me, a noble pillar man is a rip-off. He even wants me to become his servant. How can I cooperate with such a narcissistic guy? He probably won't even agree to meet me'
I am not gonna leave Japan and abandon my search just because Muzan said so. After calming down a bit I looked towards Tamayo.
'According to what I know she will be an important side character in demon slayer. Her blood demon art is also very useful and all of its capabilities were not shown in the anime.
From what I know, Muzan changed her into a demon and she killed her husband and child because of that. She harbours immense hatred towards Muzan.
Maybe I can use that to get her to my side. It will pretty useful for me to have a helper.
'It is certainly a plausible idea. But she appears to be completely dominated by Muzan's power and have no thoughts of rebellion. First I need to give her hope'
"Miss Tamayo do you want to get out of Muzan's control and have your revenge?" I asked to hope to entice her.
"H-how do you know about that?" she asked as she eyed me with suspicion.
"Haha, I am not a stalker Miss Tamayo. Everything is evident in your eyes and your body language"
"Hehe, do I appear that pathetic. Thank you for your help but nobody can defeat Muzan. Maybe I am destined to never get revenge for my husband and child" she answered with great bitterness.
'She really has no hope. But in the show, she had somehow broken free from the control of Muzan. How?' I thought. But soon I had a pretty wild and daring idea. Since actions speak louder than words I will try it.
But if it fails she will never speak to me again let alone trust me. I have to be daring and try it even without her consent.
"Miss Tamayo how rude of me to not give you anything when you visited my house for the first time. Please wait I will prepare something" I said as I started to proceed with my plan.
