Chapter 4: Hogwarts, here I come

When Chris opened the Magic Book, a holographic book appeared in front of him containing pages and pages of spells. Each page had 4 boxes and each box represented an existing spell.

[The Host has opened the Magic Book, so now the System will give you 15 Knuts. Please buy a spell with 15 Knuts.]

Chris looked at the first 2 pages of the book and found that the Mending Spell alone cost 15 Knuts.

"Alright then. I'll buy the Repair Charm," Chris said.

[Host purchased the Repair Spell. Now, please close your eyes.]

Chris closed his eyes and all the basic information about the Repairing Spell entered his mind.

[Congratulations Host, you bought your first spell. You have gained 10 EXP. Now you need 10 more EXP to level up. 28 Knuts were awarded.]

Mending Spell: Level 1

Number of times needed to be cast to lvl 2: 1,000

"Do I have to cast this spell 1,000 times to get to level 2?!" Chris asked with a shocked expression.

[The Repair Spell is not a difficult spell. Even Hermione Granger before even attending class was able to use it. Depending on the spell's difficulty, it may take longer or shorter than the average amount. When the Host gets to spells like the Fiendfyre curse, the amount of times needed to cast it to level up will be much less than the Wand Illumination Spell. Also, if the Host increases your spell level, your magic power will increase and EXP will be given. Also, casting spells will give you EXP. While casting spells like Repair for the 2000th time will give you little or no EXP, it will still give you EXP.]

"I think it's reasonable," Chris said, but he still had a sour face. No matter what the System said, casting a spell 1000 times is still a bit of a stretch.

[You have also unlocked a new reward: The Practice Room. Although you can use magic at Hogwarts, it is still very difficult to practice it continuously. It is also impossible to practice outside of Hogwarts. So, in the practice room, time is stopped. At this level, you can stay there for 1 hour a day. When you level up to certain levels, the time you can spend there will increase. Of course, this hour doesn't have to be spent all at once.]

"What, a room to stop time? This is perfect!" Chris thought with excitement as he realized how much he can do. "Even the free time given now is too much",

[Quest is now given. Please use the Practice Room for the first time. To enter the Practice Room, all the Host needs to do is say or think 'Practice Room'.]

Mission: Practice Room User (1)

Use Practice Room: 0/1

Reward: 1 Scythe and 10 EXP

"Practice Room," thought Chris and before he could think, he realized the surroundings had changed. It was a completely white room where there seemed to be no walls.

"Wow... Isn't that too excessive to just practice spells?"

[Nothing is excessive Host. In the practice room, you can practice whatever you want, from practicing spells to creating potions. Here, the system will give you fake ingredients to make potions, so as long as you're able to create potions, you won't be able to take them out. Think of it as a practice test. As for spells, choose any spell you want to practice and then the System will create a suitable environment for the spell. For example, if you want to practice the Patronus spell, a fake Dementor will be created. Level it up to unlock the next fusions.]

"Hmm...that's fine. Well, since I can only practice the Repair Charm, I'll choose that," Chris said.

[Creating environment for the Mending Spell. While in practice the Host only has to say stop to cancel the practice and the environment will return. To go back to the real world, click your heels and say, 'There's no place like home']

"Wait a goddamn minute here System, are you serious?" Chris asked. What he was, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

[It was just a joke Host. All the Host has to do is say or think 'Back' and the System will send you back to the real world.]

Suddenly, in front of Chris were thousands and thousands of broken glasses. His eyes twitched.

"That must be worth at least a million dollars in cups," Chris said.

[There are exactly 1,000,000 broken glasses. When the Host fixes them all, they will all be reset to be broken once more.]

Chris' eyes twitched once more. However, he didn't say anything and started to fix his glasses.

In half of his magical training Chris also did several physical workouts like running 10 miles doing 100 sit-ups, squats, and push-ups.

...

Soon it was September 1st, and Chris was already a pretty decent first-year wizard. When he arrived at the Hogwarts Express, he looked at its status once more.

[Name: Chris Evergreen

GoWand: 9 inch holly wand and unicorn tail

Completed missions: 2

Quests in progress: 0

Money: 3G (2 out), 15S, 18K

Items: Hogwarts clothing set (+10 magic defense)

EXP needed to level up: 261

Looking at his Lumos stats, Chris started to cry.

"After a whole month of continuous practice, I finally got Repair to level two and got a few other spells as well." Just remembering how many times he'd seen the same broken glasses made him feel sick. Of course, once he reached level 5, he instantly bought new skills that allowed him to stop repairing cups.

During that same month, he also discovered a way to analyze all other people's statistics. Was amazing. His mother had 60,000 magic power while his father had 100,000 magic power, making him only 740,000 magic power less than Voldemort. However, what surprised him the most was not his father's magical power. Although the System only shows the name and how much magic power a person has, if Chris wanted to find out a little more, the System would tell him. So when Chris asked the System how much money his father had, it was just shocking when he saw it.

100,000,000 G 15 S 1K!

Chris asked and that was simply the money in the safe! If the value of all businesses and real estate were added up, Chris realized it would take 2 Jeff Bezos in his prime to match his father. However, the richer his family, the more disappointed he was, because the greater the amount of money, the more money he was unable to use. As he now had 2 Galleons out of his money limit, he would be unable to use 99,999,998 Galleons, which made him so depressed the day he saw him that he practiced Reparo for an hour straight to get it out of his mind.

After Chris finished looking at his stats, he looked at the Hogwarts Express enthusiastically.

"Hogwarts, here I come!" Chris said as he said goodbye to his mom and dad and boarded the train.
