Chapter 23: Chapter 21: The Impure

Quinn wasn't really planning on becoming a saint. He just felt a little guilty about implicating a lot of players so wanted to give a little compensation by taking them under his arms.

In other words, Quinn just wanted to take them in as subordinates. However, Quinn also didn't plan on going the tyrant route. He's too lazy to. It would be whoever wanted to come, then Quinn would protect them. Whoever didn't want to come, they're free to do what they like on their own as long they don't piss him off too much.

Although people could tell what Quinn's true intentions were, a lot still went since it would be better to turn themselves in rather than wait for Quinn to decide to capture all of them. Besides, there were actually a lot of benefits that tempted many to go.

Quinn only needed a small number of people to be able to level up to a town. When that time comes, Quinn's title will be upgraded to Mayor and be able to accept five affiliate villages.

All of the affiliated villages and the town would be connected by teleportation formations and one could travel back and forth through them.

For all those who wanted to come, Quinn let them compete on who would obtain the spots. They would compete through contribution points which could be farmed throughout the whole crisis the area was currently undergoing.

The ones who got the most contribution points will win the spots and be allowed to build their own villages near the town.

People started madly dashing towards the coordinates Quinn provided and couldn't wait to grind for some contribution points. At the same time, they all heard a notification that informed them of how the Impure will start spawning in monsters' places after five minutes.

Everyone rushed even further as they knew that they had no chance against these Impure. They already had a hard time fighting normal monsters but now they had to fight against these Impure who were many times stronger and more savage.

Five minutes later, Impures started popping up. They resembled their own monster counterparts. However, the difference was that their bodies were pitch black and that they had red bloodthirsty eyes.

A few players were attacked on the way and few died while a lot were injured. Despite that, it only made them rush faster towards Quinn's town.

Monsters had also started appearing around Quinn's town. He sent the elves to deal all those in the vicinity while everyone else were free to do what they want, whether they wanted to fight or stay inside.

Anyway, more people actually chose to fight. By now, they had blind trust towards not only Quinn but also the elves. Especially Aisha and Arthur who managed to keep everyone alive by themselves.

At the same time, Quinn also did this for the players' safe passage.

The numbers of the Impure for now were still manageable for the current numbers of the territory. Everyone help each other kill any Impure they spotted. Everyone was very enthusiastic with hunting these Impure since they provide double xp which means they could grow even faster.

A few hours later, when the players arrived, they managed to see this scene. While they were running from Impures for their pathetic lives, these people were actually excitedly hunting them. Some were even arguing because each party wanted to kill an Impure they found at the same time.

If Impures had any intelligence, they would be probably crying at this scene.

As for the players, they were even more assured of their decision for coming here. Look at them, even Quinn's people were so strong. The weakest among the group even wore better equipment than the best player among them currently.

Among the group of players, some immediately went into the forums to brag about what they saw. They showed pics of Quinn's residents slaughtering Impures and that caused even more people to come to Quinn's town.

Soon, these groups of players were noticed by the residents. Some of them just glanced at them and ignored them after seeing their state and equipment.

Fortunately, there were still some kind residents who went and asked for their purpose of coming. When they told that they were here in response to Quinn's announcement, that those residents kindly led them towards the registration area where they were given their own IDWs.

"What's this? It looks like a watch."

"It's a proof of your identity. All citizens must have one as evidence of one's residence here. It also displays all of your basic information and can allow communication between people. Unlike you players, we don't have the forums so this is a very good tool for communication."

"Fuck, we haven't even built the most basic village but big boss Quinn is already this advanced in his technology."

"Damn, thank god I didn't listen to my friend and still came here. Big boss is already this strong. I can live comfortably for the rest of my life."

Of course they didn't pass up the opportunity to brag again. Those who were originally not planning to come already set of their ways while those who were already coming rushed even faster.

When they finally entered the territory, they saw a wide expanse of land that would already fit a huge city in it. It's just that right now, it looked very empty since the population was still in the few tens.

In one corner, there were majestic buildings that were neighbouring each other. This were the various schools that Quinn had set up already. Although they were very big, only a few tens were only studying in them currently.

The players were then led to the Logistics Department that Quinn had recently set up to help those adventurers and hunters. The players could get their own lowest level Tier 1 weapons there if they wanted to fight and they could then exchange for more items when they earn more in the future.

Of course, there were always players who were dissatisfied at the fact that they had to work for more benefits. Anyway, they were the

minority and that they were chewed up by the others and were spat out.

After that, people started making their own parties and set off to fight against the Impure. Of course, some of them were immediately injured. Fortunately, the cheat healers were present overlooking the battles happening and throwing healing spells from time to time.

This cause Aisha to be become the first female idol among the players. She was already beautiful to begin with since she was modeled after elves. Now she had powerful healing abilities that helped all the current players. There were also a few who were idolizing the rest of the elves since aside from their good looks, they had overwhelming strength.

Fortunately, the dragons weren't out for this battle or it would've shocked them to death.

For the next few days, the numbers of the Impures that were appearing had increased. Although new people were being summoned every day coupled with the increasing number of players, dealing with the Impures became very hard. One Impure was very hard to kill for some reason. Even if you cut of their head, their bodies just aimlessly strike at anything.

Fortunately, Quinn went to the rescue and identified their weaknesses. For most Impures, they had an Impure core located in their heads. Striking the middle of their eyebrows will shatter those cores. For insect type Impures, it was located in their thorax.

Finally after a few days, all Impures were purified and the population requirement was reached. It was finally time to upgrade to a town.

A majestic light encompassed the whole village and was followed by a notification.

[Congratulations for Sky Village for levelling up to Sky Town. Affiliated Villages system has been activated and residents can now teleport between territories.]

Followed by that was of course the rewarding of spots to those who had the most contribution points.

After checking the winners, Quinn was surprised to see someone who he had an impression on. It was that Sumi girl. This time, she actually won first place.

Quinn called over all the winners and decided to make a awarding ceremony for the winners and everyone was invited to watch.

Of course, everyone attended since they were curious about the rewards aside from the affiliated village spot.

On the recently built plaza, there was an elevated platform and Quinn was standing on it. He even made chairs for the audience that had special fatigue reducing effects. There was also a grand sign above them that was written in bold red letters with a golden background.

Finally, after everyone arrived, Quinn. started announcing the rewards and those who will be receiving them.

"For this battle with the Impure, a player called Sumi had shown outstanding performance and managed to rank first in terms of contribution points. For this achievement, aside from the affiliated village spot, she will be awarded with a Level 1 Tier 2 manor and Level 1 Tier 2 warehouse blueprint with the accompanying materials required to build it."

Everyone was shocked at the generous rewards. The the blueprint alone was valuable enough, but Quinn had even provided the materials needed to build it.

Among the crowd, a woman watching was also stunned before suddenly bursting out into wild laughter. She then dashed rapidly towards the stage and hugged and squealed at Quinn.

"Hahaha, Quinn as expected. I love you to death. You know, I don't need those stuff. You can just accept me as your servant and I'll be the happiest woman there is."

Quinn was stunned by the reaction, especially since the impression he had formed of Japanese girls from what he read were they were quiet and reserved, if not, cold and aloof. He didn't expect this one to be so bold.

Quinn coughed awkwardly and told her he had no plans of accepting servants. Although Sumi was a bit disappointed, she still received her reward excitedly.
