Chapter 11: Amateurs
Waking up I felt something warm next to me, as I lifted the covers I saw Konan asleep next to me curled up into a ball to stay warmer. It was becoming winter and there was a big drop in the temperature and it showed signs of possibly snowing. Izuna could tell because of the sudden change in the weather, the sky was cloudy and continually getting darker showing the signs of raining and if the temperature continued to drop at a constant rate then there would be snow possibly in a week. This meant that they would have to prepare for the future as the weather might get even worse.
Slowly getting out of the tent without waking up Konan I started a small fire, big enough to boil some water for breakfast but to not be noticeable at the same time. Although we had a spare tent we continued to sleep together as it would be warmer and because Konan was still a little bit scared.
Konan slowly began to wake up and began to start feeling around for Izuna, but when she found he was gone she shot up and opened the tent. Only to be welcomed by Izuna and the smell of breakfast.
"Oh don't worry I didn't get kidnapped," I chuckled.
Konan instantly blushed "I-i didn't think that, it was that I was hungry and smelled some breakfast'.
It was an obvious lie but I didn't tease her further as breakfast was finished, I smiled as I dished us both up. Today we had noodles, this was something we rarely ate as we could only steal it from others, we both agreed that when we were older this was going to be the only thing we would ever eat.
As we packed up and started to get prepared to move I felt a shiver down my spine, it felt like someone was watching us. I looked around and secretly activated my Sharingan and looked around and finally saw a small group of shinobi in the trees waiting to ambush us. I saw them but acted like I didn't, and deactivated my Sharingan.
Konan saw this and looked at me "anything wrong?" she hadn't noticed which was to be expected as I could only sense them because of my strong sixth sense which I had learned to understand from my years of hunting.
'Hmm, he has good sense I wonder what kind of life he had to have lived to be able to sense something' the leader of the group of shinobi thought. 'Well he didn't see us and doesn't know we are here so it's alright, they can't escape, this time I won't underestimate his ability to escape which is why I need this plan to work'. They were Leaf shinobi which Izuna had robbed the night before, they had found him after a full night of searching. They couldn't give up the resources that had been stolen because if they did they would have to return to Konoha, but it was unlikely that they would make it that far as it would take about four weeks to get back and they only has supplies for a week.
Izuna turned to Konan and secretly told her that they had a trap laid out for them, and he informed her of the plan.
When they came back into view they started heading in the direction of the waiting shinobi looking around for any possible danger before continuing.
'Great, I'm gonna give them a painful death, and I think I will also enjoy myself with the girl she is very pretty, I would love to hear her scream' the leader thought to himself.
As they were nearing, all of the other 4 were also having the same thoughts and they were getting excited as they didn't get to have fun often because they were always on the move on the battlefield.
When they were directed underneath the shinobi lying in wait, a shout was heard. "Now boys get them", they jumped down and stabbed Izuna, and grabbed Konan to stop her from escaping. Instead of what they had expected both Izuna and Konan turned into fire, the leader and one of the guys jumped back and escaped the flames but the person that was holding Konan was unlucky and burned to a crisp after letting out a painful scream.
"What the" the other two were taken back by the sudden events that unfolded in front of them. 'How did they find out about our trap we were supposed to be far enough for them to not sense us, even I wouldn't notice, and where are the other two' the leader thought.
Just as he thought that two bodies fell from the trees and crashed into the floor. They were both dead, Izuna had killed both of them silently. Then when the two shinobi were still trying to process what happened, a bunch of paper shuriken came from behind them. They both noticed and jumped out of the way as Izuna jumped down from the tree and Konan walked out from behind them.
They nodded at each other and both picked their targets, Izuna went after the leader as he was more skilled and Konan went after the other as he had got injured from Konan's last attack.
Izuna looked him in the eyes and activated his Sharingan whilst pulling out his katanas strapped around his waist, but what Izuna said next made him shiver in fear, as he had a sadistic smile on his face while saying.
"Do you like to dance?"
