Chapter 13: Never / Ending
*pitter-patter*
"He come on. we should really go inside"
'Shin,,,"
Right now my mind couldn't care less if I got sick.
right now I had a burning question to ask.
"Where were you?"
As I started to talk Shin got up and took a few steps back.
He was standing directly behind me but now was 6 meters away
As soon as I asked him this I turned and looked at him with a villainous look on my face, full of rage and hate.
"I,,,I went out to get food"
"Where's the food then"
I had noticed that Shin wasn't carrying any food with him.
"I left it at the house, that's when I saw the that the fourth floor was completely destroyed, I looked around for you, it took me a bit but when i finally found you,,,it,,,it was too late"
I was still suspicious of Shin but right now I couldn't care less.
I looked at Holly's body and noticed a device that was malfunctioning.
I picked it up
I looked at it trying to figure out what it was.
After a bit, I asked Shin
"Shin what is this?"
Shin took a few steps forward until he was right next to me, He then took a knee while taking the device out of my hand.
"Hmmm...Seems like a Kin Energy Shield"
I took it out of Shin's hands and cleaned the blood off.
Hmm?
I've seen this thing before, Allen had given it to me the last time we met.
But why did Allen have something related to KIn
Was he also able to use Kin?
And why did Holly have it?
The number of questions I had kept on building,
"Why did Holly have this?"
I asked Shin to see if he knew anything.
"Don't know… Kin Energy Shields are most commonly used by people who cant use Kin and need a way to protect themselves against Kin based attacks, I wouldn't be shocked if Holly had one of these since she didn't have any Kin, but your Mother told me that she was never going to tell Holly about the New World, so this shouldn't be in her possession"
After listening to Shin talk, I thought back and realized that Holly had been acting strange the day everything changed. I also felt like something had gone missing in my room around that time too.
If I used everything I knew.
"I think Holly took it from my room, My friend had given it to me the last time we met, my best guess is that she went into my room when I was out. This might also explain why she wasn't hurt in the crash, so the shield might have activated during the crash.
Shin looked at me in a surprising way
"Well look at you mister detective"
I looked at him and chuckled
"I'm just guessing here, even if this all adds up, theirs still one thing that doesn't"
Shin continued to look at me but his facial expression changed to a more curies one
"And what's that?"
Right when I was going to talk I noticed Shin softly grin but then right after his facial expression returned to being one of curiosity.
"My friend Allen, gave me this device the last time I saw him, He had never mentioned anything about the New World, so it's strange for him to have given me this"
"That is indeed strange"
Shin got up and walked to the edge of the building and looked at the city which was just starting to awaken.
He then looked back at me
"Aiden we should get going"
I looked up at him then back at Holly
"What about her?"
"What about her? Why did you put it like that?"
"What?" I asked
Shin smiled but then he returned to normal
"Nothing, I'll have someone come and clean this place up, they'll take her body to be buried or burned, up to you"
"I'll like her to be buried please"
"I'll let them know"
I got up
and looked at Holly one more time
"I'm sorry"
