Chapter 4: When He Stalks You

It's been days since you saw the creature called Creeper. You just can't get him out of your mind. For one, it's not like you see monster-looking beings every day. But you try to carry on about your business as though nothing has happened.

You recently bought a few Rudd Ranger chickens, and now you're outside finishing building the chicken coop. The chickens are just out pecking at the ground for whatever food they can find. You've always wanted to have your own farm, you definitely have the land to get started, but you wanted to start small first before going for any big animals yet.

.

Y/n: Okay, now I have to install a lock so the foxes don't come running in here.

.

You think you have a couple in the shed, so you walk over to the other side of the house and enter the shed getting the locks you need. But as you walk back out of the shed, you feel a little weird... You don't know what this feeling is, but maybe you're just tired. Shrugging the feeling aside, you go back to the coop and install the locks.

There's nothing out here but you and your chickens. Oh, and the cornfield in front of you with a few scarecrows. But you noticed that one of them had a couple of crows on it. Maybe scarecrows aren't working as much as they used to back then. But the scarecrows aren't your main focus right now.

After that, you walk to the back of the house where there's an old barn down the hill. You open the doors and see a lot of old hay, spider webs, some bricks laying on the ground, rusty tools everywhere, and some of the paint has already peeled off.

.

Y/n: (Sigh) I got a lot of work to do.

.

You start picking up the bricks first and throwing them outside without really looking at where you're throwing them. Just as long as they're outside you're okay with it. You know, you're thinking about either working at the diner where Harper works or maybe the farm department store in town. So far everyone in town has been nice and friendly to you. Moving out here away from the city was a great idea. Here you get to start over, make new friends, and possibly meet the love of your life.

.

Y/n: Hm, friends, marriage, maybe a family. I could finally have it all right here.

.

You throw a brick behind you without looking at what was behind. As soon as you threw the brick you hear a weird sound like if you hit an animal or something. But when you turn around you don't see anything outside at the doors. Maybe that sound was in your head or something, so you just go back to cleaning as much as you can.

Meanwhile, Creeper was leaning against the side of the barn holding his forehead with his hand. He was not expecting you to do that.

Later That Night...

.

.

.

You were singing to yourself while brushing your hair and getting ready for bed. You're already in your cute pajamas and all is quiet. Standing by the window, the curtains aren't covering the window. You're not scared of anything watching you since there's no neighbor around here.

But someone is watching you, and he's been watching you for a little while now without you noticing. Hidden in the corn fields facing your home, he just stands there watching you through the bedroom window brushing your hair. He's already got your scent. Hell, he still has your sweater for whatever reason he can't figure out why.

Like a predator watching his prey, he continues to watch you until you put the brush down and turn off the lights. He knows it won't be long till you fall asleep.

He just couldn't get you out of his mind, and he's been trying to figure out why he's acting like this when he knows he could have just kill you. But instead, he stalks you almost everywhere you go. He doesn't know yet what his plan is yet, but he knows he can't keep stalking you and get distracted from what he needs to do.

He waits for several minutes before letting his wings out and flies into the night sky. Carefully landing on the roof of the house, he climbs his way down to your bedroom window. Peeking inside, he sees fast asleep in bed. Just as he was about to open the window to get closer, he stops himself. Asking himself why is he doing this? Why has he been stalking you for days?

He stops his hand away from the edge of the window and climbs back on the roof before flying off into the sky again. As he flies back to where he parked his truck, he couldn't help but think about going back to see you one more time. He doesn't know if it's his hunger leading him to you or if it's something else he couldn't figure out yet. Maybe it has to be something else since he doesn't get the sense of hunger when he sees you. It's not hunger... it's not feeling the motive to kill you anyway... then what could it be for him to act this way?
