Chapter 2: THE NEXT MORNING
Eve got home finally the tip she got from the men who came regularly to purchase books was used to buy daily bread . But that night mum was not moving she was staring at the window and she wasn't crying she stood up and she gave Eve a kiss on her head and hugged her. Eve was glued in one spot mother she wailed as she grabbed her mom pail hands she put her mom to she on the old sofa in the parlour then she lit up the room by replacing the firewood in the chimney she shut the window the she let down her mother's hair and braided it into a bun she then got some freshly boiled water and massaged her mother's rough looking leg she dressed her mom the prepared stew as they are with stale bread it was only a day old she told her mom who just smiled.
Only If that smile could last,only if that those black eye caused by crying would be gone , only if she told her I won't let you down, only if she had told her daughter you have done well and I love you. That night Eve took her mom to bed and said
"I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER SEE THIS SMILE ONLY IF HE NEVER LEFT BUT YOU ALWAYS TAUGHT ME LET BYGONES BE BYGONES ,YOU ALWAYS SAID HE NE NEVER LEFT HE IS HERE IN YOUR HEART❤️. WHY THEN IS HE NOT HERE,WHY IS HE NOT HOLDING YOUR HAND? LADY LENSE IS TAKING CARE OF ME PRETTY MUCH SHE ALWAYS GIVE ME FOOD EVEN I DON'T ASK OF IT SHE ALWAYS TEACH ME SOME WORDS AND NOW THAT AM REALLY FINDING IT EASY TO READ AND THE TOWN HAS TREATED MY LIKE THEIR OWN CHILD I CAN GO TO GROCERY STORE WITH ONLY A PERMIT FROM M'LADY LENSE I'M PRETTY MUCH OK AND I DON'T NEED HIM NOW . I LOVE YOUR SMILE AND I WANT TO SEE IT EVERY DAY, PROMISE ME YOU WON'T FAIL .
Mother with tears smiled and nodded affirmatively .
