Chapter 36: Chapter one

After Nardin visited hell in search of the devil, failed on her mission and got back, she was hoping things will get better but it didn't. It rather got worse. Her husband, Prince Liam Eldrago could not recognize her anymore. In fact, no one in the kingdom could. She was now a nobody. I don't know what happened but, things turned out to be that way. After trying hard to make Prince Liam recognize her, she could not so she left the kingdom and went into no where. An unknown place where nobody would ever find her. Yes, she was broken but wasn't sure she'd given up.

CHAPTER ONE

The wind howled during the dark. Crickets chirped, their sounds resonating consistently. The unpleasant smell of the sea miles away covered the atmosphere but I didn't care. I lay on the bare floor with just a few dying grasses poking my skin, my face up while I stared into the sky. It was way too gloomy up there but that did not bother me, after all I could still see the stars. I put out the fire as my body was already used to the cold out there. I was dressed in open sleeves and yet not even the bites of insects could trigger my reflex. I lay with my head resting on my hands and my legs crossed against each other. I'd always waited in that position for the seemingly endless darkness to come to an end that that position became my most comfortable position, and sleep? It had long left my eyes.

Crack! Crack! DOOM! The tree branch fell at the second swing of my axe. The darkness had disappeared. I was alone in a far away land, in the middle of a forest no man dared to set foot into. Who cared anyway. I had grown to conquer the unconquerable. Grown not by age but by power and strength. I dragged the tree branch by the side of my almost collapsed hut and just my glancing at it, it shattered to tiny pieces. Using the direction of my fingers I arranged them in a circular manner and put on a fire then sat a few kilometers away from it and watched it burn out without putting it to use. When the fire burned out, I packed the hot charcoal using my bare hands and headed towards the odour filled sea. As I moved, the hem of my tattered dress hung on a few branches and tore off making my garment look worse than that of a mad woman, but I didn't pay any attention to it. I didn't care about what was in order or not. My skin was covered in ashes and dirt. As I got to the sea, I threw the blazing charcoal into the river and stood there to watch it sink. The water surrounding the charcoal boiled for a little time and In no time, not even a piece of the charcoal was left floating. I turned around to leave when I suddenly felt dizzy, this had been happening for a very long time now. I heard indistinct murmuring from different voices in my head. I put my hands against my head as I staggered. My eyes were puffy and crimson. I grasped my hair as I tried to shut the voices up but I couldn't. I have always had everything under control except this situation. It was the only thing I could not overcome.

"Argh!" I groaned as my knees touched the ground.

"Get... Get out... Out of... Get out of my head." I muttered in pain as my entire body was now lying on the ground and in a blink of an eye, I passed out.

After I was humiliated and sent out of Akalon, nobody ever heard from or got to see me again. It was almost like I went into extinction and somehow my father got to hear of it. He had never bothered about me and he would not have if not that his ties with the Eldragos was cut off. He was denied and humiliated. My father wanted to find me not because I was important to him as his child but because of what I could bring him.

"Your Majesty, this is the eleventh party we've sent out in 3 days and still no sign of Princess Nardin anywhere. We've lost countless soldiers in the search and nobody can give an account of what is going on." The King's advisor said to my father, King Dominic Ryan.

"Is there any news?" The king asked, ignoring his advisor's words.

"No news your majesty." The leader of the knights responded in a bow.

"What are you waiting for then?" King Dom who was initially sitted rose to his feet furiously. "Get into the forest yourself, the woods, the darkness, wherever it is, get in there and drag her out." King Dom said furiously.

"It's been three years your majesty, do you really think your daughter is still out there? Alive?" His advisor asked.

The king's raging eyes met the advisor's as the King spoke. "I am sure that girl is out there somewhere... Alive!. I have to find her no matter what."

"You've relented in searching for her for quite a while now, why are you suddenly interested in finding her?" The advisor asked.

The king gestured the leader of the knight to leave and when he left and the door was shut leaving the king alone with his advisor, he spoke.

"I hear Prince Liam has chosen another lady to make his wife and in less than two weeks..."

"You mean King Liam? You attended his coronation but you keep belittling his title." His advisor interrupted.

"That boy, Laim, whatever king he thinks he is cannot walk away from me. My kingdom is almost falling. I have a lot of enemies and I can't defend my kingdom alone." King Dominic responded.

"How can you defend your Kingdom? You've sent out over five thousand of your men in search of a woman who I'm certain is dead. If you keep losing your men while trying to find Nardin, you'll have no soldiers left to defend your Kingdom. I advise you sit, have a rethink and decide on a way to save your Kingdom. I'll be by your side whenever you may need me. Have a lovely day." The advisor angrily said and walked away from the fuming king who completely ignored him.

A weird figure covered in a black cloak and hood, stood in her room pacing worriedly. All the furnitures in the room were black and her room was dreary. She had her doors locked and ordered that nobody disturbs her. She seemed to be a wealthy or noble lady that probably had servants flocking her castle. From the rays of the moon hitting her face from the windows, she looked like she had been practicing a lot of dark magic as dark energy was hovering over her. She was a sorceress. A black crow suddenly perched on her window and crowed. The lady's eyes quickly lit up as soon as she saw the bird that she quickly rushed to the bird.

"Tell me you bring me good news." She said to the crow looking into it's eyes as she bent over so her face would be at an eye level with the crow. The crow stared back without blinking an eye.

After observing the crow for a few seconds, the young and pretty woman stood up straight, smiled and scoffed.

"Finally." She said in a hoarse voice. "Far beyond the world where mortals survive, hah." She smiled wickedly then her smile suddenly faded. "I'll get you" She muttered...
