Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Utopia of Nothingness
It was a face of a woman that went through life with him in the past, or rather, two worth of lives of love.
"To think that she was by my side even in the other life, how fascinating, the question is, could I ever see her again?" Yoriichi knows how greedy was the idea to see her again.
In those two lives, he was with her as Yoriichi and the Saber-Wielding Deity, Qin Lingtian. What was unfortunate was that the fate of both of the women they love was to die.
Qin Lingtian's wife who looks a lot like his wife, Uta, died from a strange poison that has no cure.
Yoriichi wife himself, Uta, died from being eaten by ferocious demons. Remembering it again just triggers bloodlust even from a person like him who was in the Selfless State.
The Selfless State is a state of mind where nothing can bother you like triggering emotions that affect clear thinking. It was a wondrous talent but being that way steered how he affected other people.
Only Uta, his wife, was able to see through his defects and understand that under Yoriichi's calm façade was a raging sun that exudes myriads of emotions, just suppressed by this cold-blooded talent.
Drunk from his own soliloquy, multiple shadows emerged from the hellground.
"You mere insect, give the lotus you are unworthy to even glance at and I'll spare you a quiet death!" It was unknown where this sound came from accurately just by spiritual five senses. There was a multitude of shadows, but he has the perfect skill to identify it easily.
Focusing his line of sight into his surroundings, the world turned gray and time slowed in a delayed buffer.
Initially, shadows with resounding voice was the only thing he can sense but after activating a strange ability he acquired in his past life. Yoriichi could clearly perceive specters that did not have physical bodies but only has apparitions with strange crystals in their chest area.
"Like the Demon King Muzan, who has Seven Hearts, that crystal may have been their very source of power, cutting it off could mean annihilation" Yoriichi grasped his left rear, only to touch nothing.
What was incredible was slowly, a shape of what a longsword is, suddenly appeared like mystical magic.
[Spiritual Creation]
It is a skill that his alter ego, Qin Lingtian, learned in one of his adventures. It condenses one's spiritual power coming from the soul to manifest anything out of one's imagination.
"Sun Breathing First Form: Dance!"
He jumped gracefully and twisted his spiritual body with utmost effort. It was as if seeing wheels forcefully rotated, thus creating a sudden increase in kinetical force.
The longsword created from [Spiritual Creation] moved in a sleight of hand, accompanied by seemingly white flames, covering the intangible creatures.
It was a skill called [Spiritual Intent].
Each sword arts have a hidden essence, an esoteric power that can only be accessed by those who reached the highest state of swordsmanship. As an acclaimed swordsman, Yoriichi could use it with Selfless State, utilizing it in the most efficient way possible.
As the Sun Swordsman, the imagery he creates often was a burning big ball of the star, containing terrifying heat that could make one shiver at its sight.
It's a heat that can reduce anything to non-existence.
"How does a measly soul possess this accursed skill!" the shadows were startled by this power and resorted to their own means of survival. What made them froze was there was eyes directed at them, its as if they were not invisible at all.
"Its him! He is the Kirin! Run!" At the sight of the marks covering Yoriichi's forehead and cheeks, the shadows beckoned every other one of them to escape.
The screams coming from the Shadows wasn't something that could bother him. He followed another move that he surely can use to eliminate these idiots that tried to have a slight of intent to harm him.
"If this is hell where demons is something considered as a lower product, then all of you who proclaim themselves Supremes of those evil scourges must have been an eviler existences in this realm?" Uta's face appeared in his mind and a new form of feeling that never slighted his mind appeared.
Bloodlust of two lives, as Qin Lingtian and Yoriichi were projected to the Shadows.
What happened is something that no one could talk about.
Remembering the fierce demeanor he recently showed, Yoriichi was indulged in his own soliloquy.
"Bloodlust, emotions, desires, any of these have never been able to affect me, yet now, a feeling to kill welled up on me unannounced" If it was in the past, no one would believe that Yoriichi, the cruelest and strongest Demon Slayer in existence would feel anything about killing at all.
He was slowly changing.
Before his death, he touched upon something that let him burst a power that transcends all.
It was a power that was drived by pure will, emotions, and intentions.
The combination of the three created a slash of sword that can penetrate lives up to their most fundamental structures. A sword created from his will to erase.
Immersing himself with feelings, all the people he knew in his life appeared. Channeling all what he have in this next movement, he slowly slashed.
"Void to All: An Utopia of Nothingness"
The tip of his sword slit the space around him, returning what his sword can touch to pure unadulterated nothingness.
The whole thing happened in a fraction of a second, but the events that happened is just earth-shattering.
"What?"
"Hmm.?!"
Two voices penetrated Yoriichi's hearing.
From the tone of their confusion, something unbelievable must have happened.
In a blink of an eye, two figures with towering auras appeared, looking down to Yoriichi with curious eyes.
"Oh, you are alive! It seemed that you have finally cracked that stubborn gate! Congratulations!" The birdman appeared and laughed cockily.
"So you are that man, give me the lotus and I'll spare you from mistakes and let you reincarnate into a new life" The Demon King, King of Hell Yama commanded.
