Chapter 2: Volume 1 Chapter 2 Learning Experience
Markos and Tom just got back to the Realm of the Gods, after Markos' fight with a Demon Dragon, which ended in a lucky victory for Markos, as he obtained Mjolnir, the sacred weapon that erases evil from existence. They then arrived at a school, its the one and only school here in the plane of existence of the Gods.
"A school? Is it to teach all the Reincarnates?" asked Markos.
"Not just them, Markos. But also our millitary force." replied Tom "Where do you think those guards came from? The ones guarding your father's castle."
"What do you teach them specifically?"
"Let's see, millitary tactics, weapon mastery, methods to travel by vehicles, like air and train travel..."
"Wait... Does that mean even the train pilot can fight?"
"That's right, but for you it will be different. There are 2 forms of Reincarnates to be exact, 1 is of warriors and another of Gods, so for you, there is a special division specifically made to train you, and that is where I am taking you." Markos and Tom eventually entered the school, it was very big, with a lot of space like a university. Markos couldn't believe what he was seeing, so many future Reincarnates, but what bothered him the most was that everyone was looking at him. Hundreds, thousands, millions of eyes glancing at him, mouths talking about him, saying things like that "Is that Odin's son?" "Wasn't he born on the Mortal Plane?" "He looks so weak and short.", Markos wanted to feel free and explore the place to his heart's content, but all the eyes looking at him made him feel weak. Then a tall, lean and atheletic blonde haired boy stepped in front of Markos, he wore a leather black jacket on top of his armor. The boy had a devilish smile, looking like he was ready to fight.
"Hey there." began the boy.
"Hi..." said Markos awkwardly, he had no idea how to react, especially with everyone saying
"Will Kenji win this fight?" "He will, I mean he is the top student after all.".
"So as I hear, you are Thor's Reincarnate."
"That is correct."
"Why don't you prove it?" the boy who was known as Kenji flared up his hands with light. But then a shockwave of lightning aura covered the entire room, it was coming from Tom and he was looking down upon Kenji.
"Kenji, stand down." said Tom in a demonic voice. Kenji only sighed and stepped out of the way.
'Jesus what an asshole. I just want to punch this jerk in the face now. How can Mika stand him?'
Eventually, Markos and Tom arrived in a training area, located in at area with multiple mountains.
"I am sorry for how everyone acted just now, but hopefully we will get a little bit of privacy right now, especially Kenji, he just has a hard time getting to know people."
"I mean who wants to be around him? So, we're here to train?"
"Well you are a Defender of the Mortal Realm, so why not train you for things to come?"
"Makes sense."
"So one thing to keep in mind of, all gods have 3 energies in them, physical energy, your physical power, including your strength, speed, durability, senses and more, spiritual energy, allowing for interaction with the metaphysical planes of existence, right now, you are interacting with the astral plane, and finally mental energy, which allow you to access your past memories and manifest the information into reality. These 3 energies together make up, Godly Energy." explained Tom "You can externalize, control and mold this energy into whatever you want. For example, since I am completely made out of lightning, I can naturally manipulate lightning." Tom raises his hand and then creates a lightning bolt, but then the next thing he did was transform it into a staff then a hammer "Or I can use these." Tom shows a few wodden sticks, he throws it at a wall, and it dissapears completely, leaving nothing behind but a flicker of lightning, and a few seconds later, lightning appears on the wall "I can induce the lightning into the stick, that will then create smaller shards, impossible to detect, upon coming into contact with a person, it will completely shut down their muscle movements and induce all the effects on what happens when a person is stuck by lightning... only this time, since its made for other beings like Demons, it will obviously kill them. Try it." Markos tries to replicate what Tom did. What seemingly happened, was that Tom focused the Godly Energy in his body onto certain areas like the hands, so Markos tried that same thing. He focused on his hands but nothing was coming out, instead lightning was generated and it explode on his face. This anctic made Tom laugh "Well, I shouldn't be surprised, no one gets it right on the first time, this is way more advanced than any Earthly method of training there is, be it fighting or meditation." Markos recovered and tried again, but failed, only with a little bit more lightning this time around. Markos tried again and again, only slight improvements.
'Can he really make it? It was his 20th try, usually students only get it right in their first month in the academy. We need Markos, he is our best bet. Let me see what I can do to simplyfy it for him.' said Tom to himself when eventually a guard arrive.
"General! There is a mission!" said the Guard.
"At ease, tell me, what is it?"
"A Demon was found on the Mortal Plane! You need to go there, now!"
"Well Markos, I guess we can apply your training in combat in someway." said Tom which made Markos confused. Eventually, they arrived on the Mortal Plane and they found the Demon, causing havoc on the humans. It was a Dragon Demon, but it wasn't alone, this time two showed up.
"No!" Markos immediately rushed in, with Mjolnir on hand, to fight the Dragons. With his immense might, he chopped off the Dragon's hands that were holding the humans, and with his immense speed, saved all the humans and placed them safely on the ground. Markos then went to attack the Dragons, they tried to shoot a fireball at him, but Markos created a circle with his hammer that blocked the fireball, then he sent it back. Eventually Markos was able to charge up lightning from the hammer and fired it into a beam of lightning, by simply focusing Godly Energy on the base of the hammer, electricuting one of the Demonic Dragons, then Markos threw his hammer at the other Dragon, but it dodged the sacred weapon, without anticipating that Markos would extend his hand and call upon Mjolnir back, but for some reason, as though it was pure instinct, the Dragon still dodged, then Markos tried again, another lightning blast on both Dragons, electrecuting both. With that brief instant, Markos used his hammer to smash the Demon's heads, destroying their matter completely into nothingness. Markos then patted and got a little annoyed "TOM! WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP ME?!"
"It was all part of your training."
"Huh?"
"You see, Gods evolve most quickly when they are placed in life and death situations. So it seems like putting you in a battle seemed like the right choice."
'And he did it in the shortest time frame yet. Than again who am I to question? He is Thor's Reincarnate.'
"I am curious though. Where does the mental aspect of Godly Energy come in to play?"
"That part is way too advanced for you still. To put it simply, the concern isn't accessing the memories, it is instead finding the one out of millions upon billions upon trillions of memories, each one with its unique trait and moment, that you may need for the moment, and then when manifesting that information into reality, it requires a level of focus beyond even that of when you were externalizing Godly Energy. But if you want a start, try to remember something." Markos closes his eyes and tried to remember a recent thing. The first thing Markos say was a bank of memories. It was like a library with how expansive and detailed each memory was. Markos saw an end and spotted the closest memory to him.
'This must be my last memory from my last life. Let me see it.' Markos then began to reach it. It was heavy, and there was a feeling that the memory was going further and further away, but it wasn't 'Damn, is this how much focus I need to just access my most recent memory? How will it be accessing my other memories? I just need to focus more than." Markos then got closer to the memory. Markos wasn't sure what it was going to be, but certainly not what happened next. What Markos saw before hand was impossible to explain; everything dissapeared and became dark, he saw death, destruction, blood, carnage, nothingness, the end of creation. Markos saw Thor, he was panting, kneeling down, panting, his wife, his father, everyone he loves dead next to him, and what he saw before him was an abstract image, something Markos couldn't comprehend, but Thor clearly could.
"You... I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU!" says the God of Thunder before he charges in to fight some more with the abstract image, then Markos gets back to reality, his heart racing.
"What the fuck?!" wondered Markos.
"That's exactly it, what you saw just now was an image of your past, probably your most recent reincarnation and the last thing you saw." said Tom "Oh and I got to go now. See you soon Markos, I will appear eventually to help you more." Tom then opened a white portal and left the Mortal Place. All that Markos could wonder was what he just saw.
A few hours later
Markos was walking around town, still shaken by what he just experienced. He was passing by an abandoned house, when he eventually heard screaming.
"HELP ME!" yelled a girl, running by Markos. Being chased by another Demon! It was like a bird, but also a dog and a human, even flies like a bird. Before Markos could do anything, the Demon punched Markos into one of the abandoned houses and a doll fell on his lap.
'YES! FINALLY!' said the doll to itself.
