Chapter 15: Contract

After the First Day of School, Xion then learned how to Dance properly, also songwriting and stage management while trying to avoid some disturbances from his growing fans. In the same spring, Yiren attended a Tourniquet Entertainment Audition and passed as a trainee. In the blink of an eye; four seasons then came and went.

And it's finally Graduation Day. When Xion and Yiren came home with so many flower bouquets from their admirer, that day many boys and girls felt lost because they couldn't see either Yiren or Xion again. They found Yuyeon already waiting for them with food to celebrate the day. Suzy and Seonho keep a secret about Yuyeon's coming as a surprise for the siblings.

Yiren just runs and cries in her mother's embrace just like a child, but Xion just stands next to his mother while holding her hand. Yuyeon then just brushed her son's hair. Seeing the family in a happy atmosphere, Seonho then hugged Suzy from behind and faced the small family together.

Yuyeon stayed with her children for 2 months. Meanwhile, Tourniquet Entertainment called back all their current trainees for Debut Line-up selection. On the selection day, Suzy then takes Yiren to the main headquarters of Tourniquet Entertainment. The building has 12 Floor and where floor 1-3 is being used as Idol Supermarket where you can find all merchandise of Tourniquet's Idols, Floor 4 is For Event, such as Fan meeting and press conference, Floor 5-7 is for Idol management team office, Floor 9-10 Is the studio for recording and practices. Floor 11 is for Management Meeting and Floor 12 is for Stakeholder Meetings, Head Departments offices and CEO offices.

It was Yiren's first time entering Tourniquet HQ since she was accepted as a trainee; she never came to the HQ, but for her lessons she just had to go to the teacher's house. Yiren was told by the teachers that she is one of the few S ranked trainees from Tourniquet, that's why she got special class training as every S ranked trainees are hidden by the company before the debut announcement and they will stay on with the group for 6 Months for intensive training and at the last month, the debut announcement will be made.

Only S class trainee that had the sure spot in the Debut line-up and only 2 Days before the group debut date will her picture be shared in the group's social media and the company's portfolio. And today is the day, where Yiren will meet her group members. Suzy and Yiren then use the lift from the basement and go straight to the Management Meeting room and wait for the call.

Meanwhile on the 4th floor, a debut line selection is being held, and almost all the female trainees from Tourniquet are waiting for their chance to perform. There were 32 trainees present but it was rumored that only 6 trainees were being selected. Everyone was tested on Vocal, Dance and Rap continuously and every trainee could only choose 2 tests, either Vocal/Dance, Vocal/Rap or Dance/Rap.

After the performance, all the trainees will get an envelope that will decide their future. Finally, there's six girls that received the letter that asked them to go to the 11th floor, with a certain card to use at the elevator to get to the 11th floor.

The first girl is Karina, she is the first one that came to the room where Suzy and Yiren are waiting. She then enters the room and finds them. she politely greeted them and stood frozen not knowing what to do. Suzy then asked her to sit and wait for further notice.

Yiren is still wearing her face mask so Karina can't see her face yet, but because Karina is also a trainee, she didn't dare to speak to her since there is Suzy beside her.

The second girl to enter the room is Heejin, she greeted everyone and when she saw Karina, she was so happy that she hugged Karina tightly and then they sat together. The Third one to come is a Korean/Canadian girl named Somi. She greeted everyone and then took a seat too.

Next to enter is a girl named Yeyoung. Fifth is another girl who majored in rap music as the other girls know her since she usually gets excellent grades on monthly evaluation, she is Yena. the last girl came knocking on the door and then entered, surprisingly Yiren knows her and is kinda close with her but she never tells her where she has been trained all along, and they promised that when they are debuting then they will tell each other where they have been trained for. Yiren then tried to hold her laugh and hide her body beside Suzy.

Suzy also knows the reason why she laughs and tries to hide it since Yiren always talks about Yuqi when they are together talking about girl group and stuff related to that.

Karina then took the initiative to talk and re-introduce each other once again and everyone agreed to do so.

Hello, I'm Karina, 19 years old, A class trainee for 3 years. Heejin then followed her, Hello, I'm Heejin, also 19 years old and A class trainee for 2 years. after Heejin, Yena then introduced herself, Hello, I'm Yena, 18 Years old, B class trainee for 1 year, Somi then exclaimed, wow.. you are really great since you can debut after just 1 year, ah i forget, i'm sorry, I'm Somi also 19 years old and B class trainee for 1 year and another 1 year for A class.

Everyone nodded since they also have friends in A and B class where A class is for all rounders and B class is for specific one like Vocal, Dance or Rap. and also not everyone in A class or B class knows each other since they have different schedule for practice session, it's just a coincidence that Karina and Heejin are in the same class for two years.

Yeyoung then introduced herself, Hello i'm Yeyoung, i am 20 years old and I have been in B class for 4 years, she speaks shyly. Yuqi then introduced herself, Hello, i am Yuqi, 19 Years Old, B class for 3 years now. she speaks brightly.. All eyes then lock on Yiren and wait for her to introduce herself..

Yiren stands and opens her face mask, when Yuqi saw her, Yuqi was shocked.. but Yiren just ignored her and introduced herself, Hello, I'm Yiren, 19 Years old and have been trained for a year in S class. When most of the girls heard about S class, they were surprised! It is known to many that the S class in Tourniquet is a guaranteed debut and has top tier skills and Visuals. hearing Yiren's introduction made Yuqi speechless. Yiren just laughs and moves closer to her to hug while she is trying to avoid her because of a sudden revelation.

When Yuqi is in Yiren's arm then Yiren explains to the rest of the group that she first met Yuqi in Hongdae and became friends with her that day, Yuqi then tells the group that when she first met Yiren, she knows that Yiren wasn't a trainee yet and just came to Seoul. Both of them then shares to others that they never talked about which agencies that they have auditioned before since they promised to tell each others later when one of them is famous.

Yuqi and Yiren then shows their photos together that they took in Hongdae, Yiren was so different in the photo which makes the other thinks that she has some surgery before being a trainee which Suzy denied since she is always with Yiren after being her manager and they haven't visited any hospital or clinic ever.

Seeing that Yiren and Yuqi are close enough, the others let out a long sigh.. Yuqi then asked, Why are you sighing deeply? Karina then speaks, it's not, i just think that the S class is already a celebrity and will look down on us trainees, her action just speaks otherwise, everyone then nods in agreement.

Everyone then talked about miscellaneous things for an hour and then Tourniquet CEO and Artist Management PD came in. Yu Shin Sun the CEO then explained about their contract to everyone, and they were surprised that Yiren already had a personal manager. When they knew that her manager was not part of Tourniquet's team, they started to wonder about her background.

Yiren just shrugged it off by saying that Suzy is her family here in Seoul, Suzy felt warm hearing that. The other girls then nodded understandingly since it was a common thing among artists to have their family member as manager.

The CEO then left them and let the AM PD, Yoo Shiyoon, hand them their contract to read and then left them for a while. Everyone was engrossed in reading and understanding the contract, about the fees, production cost, their monthly allowance, living conditions, manager cost, contract duration, certain rules and punishment regarding breaching the contract etc.

Luckily they have Suzy there that helped them understand more about the contract clearly. then one by one they are called to sign the contract. All of them Agreed to sign a 3 years contract with 35% Fee for Group activity where 2 or more members that joined a show,concert or tv appearance will be counted for which means each of them will receive 5%, 30 % for solo activity and 60 % fee from International group activity and Concert in profit calculation, with monthly wage of 5000 USD for each of them after the debut and profit cut from the company to avoid losses. A total of 1 Million USD should be paid if they breach the contract.
