Chapter 6: Near The Final - II
Now the first battle has finished, it's time for the second battle. "The second battle of Semifinal Princess Alice and Chen Ming, Please go to the arena!" Called the examiner.
"Princess Alice Good luck!"
"Go to the Final Round Princess!"
"I hope you win Princess Alice!"
I can hear the crowd shouting for Princess Alice. 'They truly are a big fan of her.' I thought the second battle is interesting because the next winner will be my opponent. I can't wait to fight the winner and gain another skill of his or her.
The princess and Chen Ming walk to the arena and stood in the middle of it waiting for the instruction from the examiner. I see Chen Ming holding gripping his dagger tightly and preparing to launch an attack when the battle starts. But, the princess seems to be calm and puts her hand on the sword. Then the examiner put his hands up and announced the battle to start, "Second Battle Start now!"
In just a moment, Chen Ming was completely gone. "What do you think he used to make him gone?" asked Ray next to me. "That's just a mid-level skill using wind element. The skill helps him to dash like teleport if the opponent can't sense him then it's hard to fight back." I replied Chen Ming's skill is [ Wind Travel ], many wind element users can use it. But this is funny because only an Apprentice level person can use the skill, so I guess he is already reached it.
Alice POV
'His presence is completely gone, where did he go?' I thought. I was shocked when he disappeared because I'm not ready to face that skill. Taking my sword I muttered, "Flaming Sword!" making my sword covered in flame.
"Fire Slash!" I shouted. When I shouted my skill I make a 360-degree rotation to slash all sides. "You're a smart princess." Chen Ming chuckled, "Using that attack to make me get hit and show my presence again. But unfortunately, I will defeat you!" He said.
"Wind Travel!" He was gone again and appeared suddenly behind me. "Wind Thrust!" He yelled when sensing his presence and attack, I was forced to use my trump card. "FLAME BARRIER!", the skill made a flame wall look like a barrier covering me. But it is stronger than a basic wall of fire skill.
He seems shocked when his attack can't penetrate my barrier. Smirking at him I dash at full speed and slash him. The attack doesn't make him injured but he's sure very cautious right now about the situation.
Jay POV
"Quite a spectacular fight right?" I ask the guy beside me. "Indeed, they are stronger than normal young generations. Truly worthy for a genius." He replied. The fight was intense because at first, the princess is on the losing side but when she used her trump card and made that sort of barrier she is now on the winning side.
'The barrier is a good skill if I can have it would be a great help for me. But the barrier seems to have a time limit.' I thought to myself how to get that skill. I still haven't had any fire affinity and I don't want to devour her yet because she will be a part of my plan.
I saw them exchanging blows at each other, now their situation is equal. Like I said the barrier only lasts for ten seconds before it's completely gone. "Fire Slash!" screamed the Princess, I think she uses all of her energy to fight. I lost interest instantly if she lost all of her energy, the fight will be one-sided.
"Second battle of Semifinal, Princess Alice win the battle!" Announced the examiner after the princess defeat her opponent. "The Final will start in thirty minutes." Said the examiner. When I hear there is a break, I smiled because that means the princess can recover her energy.
"Ray, do you want to go out with me while waiting for the final round?" I ask him politely. "Sure, I don't have anything to do for now though." he agreed to my invitation. Then we walk out of the hall and talk to each other about our life. Of course, I lied to him because I want to hide my past. We went to a quiet place where there were no people when I sensed that the place is safe for me to do the plan I kick him making him spit out blood.
"What are you doing JAY?!" He screamed fearing that I will kill him. "Now now now, no need to scream like that alright. I have something that I need from you." I calmed him down and with a smile, I said "I need your blood, so just obediently give it to be alright."
"No, do you take me for a fool?! blood can initiate a contract that is not good for me!!" he said furiously. "Contract? that's a silly thing that I will do. I don't need a slave, remember that." I replied. then I took my sword and cut a bit of his skin, after getting the blood I use devour to gain his ice element mastery.

Now I feel stronger, I can control three elements now. When I hear that I also received a new skill I wanna try to combine it with my other skill. 'Atla, can I combine Ice armor and Ice Shard?' I said.

"I can't believe it HAHAHAHAH!!!" I shouted like a crazy person, the armor is now strengthened and not only for defensive but can be used for offensive thanks to the spike around the armor that can appear at my will.
"Are you done?" Ray said, seemingly giving up after I took his blood. I glance at him for a moment and threaten him "If you tell anyone about this, I will kill you."
"And how will you be able to do that?" Mocked Ray. Smirking at him I initiate a slave contract because I was stronger he is now the slave and I'm the master. His face completely becomes pale, he can't say anything to others now about the situation or he will die. Then he just nod at me and promise that he will never tell to anyone.
After finishing our little business, we went back to the test hall where the final will start in a few minutes. We took a seat in the corner to not attract attention. When I want to take nap, I suddenly received a mission.
[ New Mission! Make your barrier skill!
When the fight against Princess Alice started, the host have to learn how to create a barrier.
Reward: 300 SC, Basic Barrier Mastery
Failure: Host lost [ Earth Wall ] and [ Air Wall ] skill ]
Seeing the message, I could help but chuckle because the barrier is the skill I want to learn when I fight against her. I didn't expect the mission to learn the skill so I'm now excited for the reward.
