Chapter 12: Chapter - 11 First Phase (2)

Hm... I'm in a very terrible predicament.

Linda was living in England. While right now, I'm in South Korea...

I don't even know why I'm in South Korea, I'm not even Korean!

Well... I don't really remember much from before the God Games...

I don't know why this isn't a more big deal for me, but it just isn't...

And because I don't really remember much I also don't remember my nationality.

Maybe I was Korean, maybe I wasn't... My name was definitely not Korean though...

Though it was a problem, there was merits to this.

Desmond was living in South Korea!

He's not Korean but he does have an aunt that is Korean, and after his parents died when he was young his aunt took him in.

So currently he's in korea, either Incheon or Busan, he's traveling fast to Seoul... I know since I wrote it.

And as of now, I've researched a lot for about 5 hours...

So he's probably reached Seoul by now.

The reason why was to gain an skill that he takes in every regression turn.

The Greatest Decision.

A skill that can be gained from the statue of King Sejong.

You know the gigantic statue of the person held as the Greatest King of Korea.

Anyway, The Greatest Decision made it so that you would choose the best path in anything you're doing.

Be it the way you eat, developing a territory, or a war.

It would take you, and your party into account, It was the most useful skill, since it would most of the time save you from doing reckless things.

But to be honest, you needed to be strong already to use the skill properly so I couldn't just hog the skill for myself.

The stronger you are the more paths that are paved for you.

So I can't use it with my weak self.

Anyway, I didn't mind him taking that skill, so I was researching more things.

After an hour, I headed out of my apartment, and the scene seen outside was truly a sight...

People were panicking and it felt like a law free country.

Anyway I made my way through quietly, I have 2 things to do before the First Phase happens.

One is to get stronger as much as I can.

And the other is to look after the main character.

I walked through the bustling streets, people were honking and screaming...

Honestly, panic moderately please, you're way too loud.

I walked through the streets undisturbed, I had to cross the Han river.

I didn't have a car, So I had to walk to the closest bridge which was Dongjak bridge.

And it was about 30 minutes by foot to reach the bridge.

Well, I'll think about it in a positive way, the Dongjak bridge is basically right in front of the National Museum of Korea.

And conveniently I needed to go to the National Museum.

...

Standing there, a man that looked to be in his mid 20s looked at the statue in front of him.

Opening his mouth, he uttered a few words

Then, unbeknownst to the people around him, he was taken to a dark room where one figure stood.

It seemed like they had a conversation, and soon after the tall figure smiled at the man.

Then the figure slowly turned into streaks of light entering the man.

"I hope I can do it this time..."

The man said before opening his eyes to see a few people

After regaining control of his body, he quietly left.

...

At the same time close to the man...

Standing there I looked at the man and murmured words

<=========>

Damn...

Look at those stats...

Also It seems the regression ability isn't supposed to be seen, not by gods, nor people who has some sort of appraisal ability like mine.

Though I guess mine is special.

Well, it seems he just got the skill.

To him, it should be quick, but on the outside it's taking hours.

I looked back to his stats and tapped one of his skills...

=========

<<Regression>>

Rank: Z++

A skill given by a God of Time.

This skill let's the user regress back in time to when the Games started when the user dies.

Number of times the Skill has been used: 86

=========

Nice! It shows me what regression turn he's at!

I don't know why I can see it, but thanks again to the one that gave me this skill.

They really thought of how I feel when using this skill.

Anyway, regression 86 is very bad.

And I mean very bad.

Although he still doesn't know the dungeon in the tutorial, he's made it to the Second Phase already and probably knows about everything in the First Phase.

This Turn also was the turn where his depression started to hit very hard.

At the start of the novel, the main character was like any main character, he would always have positive thoughts.

The reason why he held out this long was because of that, and because of his determination to save his friends.

But, the longer he survived and the more he died, instead of thinking "This will be the round I'll save everyone" He starts to think "I hope I can at least find something new this round"

He gets worse and worse.

And the 80-90 mark was the start of his depression phase.

Instead of trying to survive, he tries to find something new without minding his life

It was sad to see

Alright that's enough, I honestly didn't care about that.

I needed him to not regress, so I'll have to look after him...

...

Back in my apartment I went and got some sleep, on the second day, world leaders all around the world held a meeting

I didn't really care.

I had bigger problems at hand...

Right now he should be in the National Museum, I already headed there to steal some things.

As I looked at the items in my hand I grinned with a satisfied look.

Alright, These items should ensure my survival for the next few waves.

I said happily

...

"Did he take it again?"

A man asked quietly

"Hah... I should remember to get here first next time"

He then tapped the ground with his foot and suddenly sunk into the shadows

A dissatisfied look could be seen on the man's face

"I will not let it repeat again"

The man sunk fully into the shadows

...

"Is it ready?"

A dark figure asked

"Mhm... Just a little bit more tweaking and I should be able to send them..."

"Good, we don't want to prolong this"

"I know. Anyway, do you have a human that interests you?"

"Yep!"

"Which one? I personally like the Desmond guy"

"Hmm... I don't want to tell you"

"What? Can't you give me a hint?"

"Hm... well he isn't that formidable as of now, but I have a feeling he'll be entertaining in the future"

"That's not a hint"

"Whatever, do your job now"

"Eh... Fine"

After a while, one figure went out of the room.

In front of him, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of other figures were sitting down and watching the ordeal in front of them

The Gods were debating on who would die and who would survive past the first wave

Then as the person went out of the room, everyone looked at him and remained quiet

It seems that the Games were just about to begin...

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
ForgedRole ForgedRole

Sorry it took so long, I had to research a lot about Korea since I'm not Korean.

The reason why I set the story in the Korean peninsula was due to my thoughts lingering there, also a little bit of commemoration for ORV since this is heavily inspired by that.

I also researched a lot about Gods, next chapter will definitely be the start of the first phase.
